OK everyone, Facepunch is basically not working for me since the server change or whatever the fuck happened, it's taken me 20 minutes just to get to this page.
Anyway I've been doing some work with the GUI, not a ton as I've had a lot of work shit going on but starting today I should have more time for it.
Also, I was on IRC last night and none of you useless fuckers were on there :buddy:
The channel split killed it.
Nah, Offtopic already stays out of fplinux-social, they just abuse the bot in it.
I'd like to see one 90's nostalgic loading screen, with cool 8-bit animations and all.

Fuck yeah!
In case you're still serious about the distribution, you'll have to replace vladh:

Add cheesy 8bit music, like the type commonly found with trainers and keygens (not encouraging to piracy just mentioning the music)
and it would be instant win

Heh. I love how people are apparently incapable of having two different hobbies at once, and subsequently dramatically rage-quitting the internet.
Also, not that anyone will notice, but my mirror's down for a while whilst my new DNS server propagates. Just thought I should mention that, in case anyone thinks fplinux.slashingedge.co.uk is down because I've copied Vlad ;P
Wow... just wow. This thread makes my eyes bleed. Facepunch and Linux in the same screen is just very wrong; you have destroyed linux for me.
Also, go work on something useful, you bit off way more then you can chew.

DONGS TO YOU, GOOD SIR
that is all
I've spoken to VladH, he isn't going to be replaced. His position will remain open for when he decideds to get back into things.
Should *hopefully* have the base image up at some point tomorrow, I had a few things come up during the week that sent me off track.

You're perfectly entitled to your opinions, but I now make it a priority to proove you wrong.
Awesome!
Woo, and the wheels turn... especially slowly.
It'll pick up.
I really suggest we do something like/fork and customize something like this: http://www.chakra-project.org
It's basically a noob-friendly installer for Arch + KDEMod, I suggest we fork it and modify it so it will install wine and run the Steam-Get program on install, and maybe we should change the default KDEMod theme.
KDEMod is the perfect Facepunch Linux DE in my opinion though, it's lightweight and fast compared to normal KDE4.

is it user friendy??
How couldn't KDE be user friendly?
Although it doesn't look nice by default, it's extremely easy to use.

This is a screenshot of KDEMod + using some of the widgets that came with it.
I don't like the bars that come with KDE, looks kinda tacky in my opinion. But that wouldn't stop me it's nothing you can't fix :D.
Like I said we can make our own theme and make it install our theme as the default theme.
I can't distribute the installer image today.
Slight problem building a kernel that will support everyones hardware, not just mine.

Hah someone noticed.

In case anybody cares, that's not it, I was already playing guitar before I quit. When I code I stay indoors all day so I can do it right, and since I code a lot, you get the point. Also most of the people I talk to are coders so it's really hard to keep away. Now I have like 6 friends of Steam (before, I had 60).
This, and I'm tired of everyone IRL going "LOL CAN YOU FIX THIS PC FOR ME PLOX ALSO PLZZ HACK THIS FAGGOTS EMAIL PLZZZZZ"
dramatically rage-quitting the internet.
My act of quitting programming has nothing to do with neither drama nor rage.

Hilarious.

That's quite an achievement, for me at least. You shouldn't be using Linux anyway. Cry some more somewhere else, birkett has every right to start a project he thinks he is capable of developing, regardless of size.
Also, go work on something useful, you bit off way more then you can chew.
I'm sure you would know, with your obviously incredible programming skills.
Oh noes don't go! :3
we're imploooddingggg
shit out a release, birkett!

as long the release isn't shit, then yeah.

Yeah, but you did the annoying clichéd thing of taking all your websites down in a strop. If I get fed up with geeking out, I go ride a bike, mess with my camera or go and see some friends out and about. I don't decidedly delete what could be my online portfolio for potential employers.
Nevertheless, didn't mean to sound so snide in my last post, sorry ;p

Either tell them to fuck off or plain-out lie to them you don't have a clue how to fix it. Works for me.
Win.
Enough with the e-drama already.

Agreed, <3'd.
Oh and by the way, I kept all of my PHP work, my CMS etc. I just deleted everything except for the other domains I host because everything else was related to the main website, which was old and outdated and I didn't feel like leaving anything on there for people to find and look around in. Specifically the files directory. Oh and a while ago I made a complete backup, I still have that somewhere.
I'm still fighting the kernel packages.
Everyone stay calm - i've waited longer than this to take a shit before.
