Can't you go for something a little more common - like a Helvetica-like? It isn't bundled on every platform by default :(
Well Helvetica isn't either. There's really a lack of good, free fulltext fonts. Also, this way our website can match graphics and shit with the main text.
Shit, late edit. Read the post again. There's no end to usable Helvetica clones, though.
Fantastic job Tu154m. Very professional.
Ill link the pack in the OP so we can kick the art team off building to sexy artwork.
What ever happened to #fplinux, I just idle in there now.
What's with the "1251"? I thought Linotype used a three-number combo for the Univers series.
I like Tahoma
Feel free to handle the licensing with Microsoft

It's free to download so i assume it's not by Linotype.
Quick question: Are you going to delete some of the 24.000 pre-compiled packages for HDD space reasons?
Quick question: Are you going to delete some of the 24.000 pre-compiled packages for HDD space reasons?
I doubt the answer would be anything but yes. It would be stupid to keep ALL 24.000 pre-compiled packages. However, other packages may be added and/or replaced. I have some personal thoughts about that, but i'm not going into details :]
Good then.
Otherwise the download would take daaaaaaaaaaysssss
[Really shitty internet connection]
EDIT: Oh, and by the way, is there a version of Debian that keeps it's Desktop Environment and nearly everything from the real Debian, but with less packages?
EDIT 2: Never mind. I re-checked their home page and they have a tiny .iso image with only basic packages. I'm downloading that one. But I won't install it until I know more stuff bout Linux and the Terminal.
We are using the debian repo's. ou only install what you need on top of the base system.

That sounds sort of like Arch Linux. Will this one come with a DE and WM?
Same as the standard DE's available in the debian repos. That includes Gnome, KDE (3 and 4) and XFCE.

lxde
If its on the debian repos, youll be able to install it.

I like Dejavu, have you tried that?
we should use comic sans and then rape it with crappy use of blending options and filter rape
DejaVu looks nice.
So DejaVu is free? Let's fucking do this. I'll change it all over tommorrow.
Aye, I use DejaVu Sans Mono for my terminal. Pretty darn spiffy if I do say so myself.
Right, DejaVu, then.
Here we go, vector version of the logo. Thing doesn't even resize to wallpaper proportions.

Redone boot screen.

Here's the source. Ignore the fortune quote. If you want a text-mode bootstrapper logo you'll have to recompile the kernel yourself.

sorry if this is very late, but Linus said that he doesn't use Linux for his servers :P.
