Excuse me, but DirectX is made by Microsoft, for Microsoft products.
you'll never get DirectX to work under linux 100% as it does under windows.
Granted most games are supported with little to no slowdown, but it's still not optimal for a rookie end-user.

Also Trolling =/= honest opinion
I know that, but stating the obvious is just pretty damn stupid to do. Games need to start supporting OpenGL next to DirectX
Counter-Strike 1.6 runs perfect on my netbook thanks to OpenGL-support.
Do you think this distro will be available in hell? The censorship down there is pretty horrid.

Still doesn't justify labeling me as a troll :colbert:

That's up to the game developers. nothing the average computer user can control :sigh:

Yes it is, ofcourse it is, you think Microsoft would give away the DirectX source?
you think Microsoft would give away the DirectX source?
Is this a trick question??
We all know the answer would include either No, Never, or a combination of those 2

So?
So?
so what??
so what??
You think we don't realize that we won't have DirectX
That's a non-trollish, alright point Van-man.
But, DirectX? To be honest, I don't think anybody using products outside of the Windows ecosystem cares. OpenGL is solely used (albeit loosely sometimes) on the Wii, PS3, iPhone, Linux, DS, etc. It is a very strong graphics library.
I am not saying DirectX is inferior, which it is not, but saying it is the end-all be-all graphics library is very ignorant.

I was just reminding Turbis2 that DirectX + Linux is possible, just not something for a rookie computer user.
It takes alot of fine tuning to just getting it to run reasonably.
Even though Wine and Wine-Doors have removed some of the obstacles.
what is it with people stating a fact or opinion and being branded a troll? srsly, wtf.
because half the people don't know what it means and just bandwagon
because half the people don't know what it means and just bandwagon
That means they're a troll?
Y'all trollin.

Well, it was running NT. Can't complain.
Do something useful instead of thread shitting. Ill bump it when theres something to announce.

Yet it disappoints me every time i see a new post, and it turns out to be a shitpost
See example here: http://www.facepunch.com/showpost.php?p=17486142&postcount=801
So can I shitpost if I include something useful in the post?
How about you don't post anything at all.
Okay.
Stop shitposting now.
I hope this is not a shitpost:
In most Debian systems and Debian derivatives, the vim package is installed, by default. But often it's vim-tiny, a micro version of vim that lacks features (like smartindent and syntax highlighting). To install vim-full:
$sudo apt-get remove vim-tiny
$sudo apt-get install vim-full
Already added that patch to the installer. Base install should now have vim-full as default.
Is there a build yet? Don't really want to search through pages.
