Is there a build yet? Don't really want to search through pages.
Birkett Updates the OP when there's news on the build, so far there's only a VMware "image" available.
Alright, i want to release something. But i really need some installer artwork. Atm im using programmer art, and DAMN its ugly.
Some programmers can do good artwork. I seriously would help if I knew how to make the right formats. [editline]11:59AM[/editline] What is the format? I might be able to find some tutorial or something.
Dont worry too much about the format atm. Just give us a decent template (using Tu154m's style guide) @ 72dpi.
Working on it :D. [editline]12:43PM[/editline] I could have done better, but is this what you are looking for?
Wait, you can now install Facepunch on your computer? :v: Only critique i'd have would be the stripes at the bottom and the wrong logo. But just go on, i don't want to force shit on anyone. It's still way better than nothing. Also, what is with the sudden font change on the selection thing?
Thats not really what im after. If you look at the debian graphical installer, we need to replace the pink art with our own. Going to keep the current installer because it works well.
Links to screenshots of stock Debian installer artwork: http://content9.wuala.com/contents/Mingeinabag/LOL/New%20Image.jpg?dl=1 http://content9.wuala.com/contents/Mingeinabag/LOL/Dins.png?dl=1 Pink doesn't exactly match Facepunch's color theme.
Working on it :D. [editline]12:43PM[/editline] I could have done better, but is this what you are looking for?
i really really dislike it ,the stripes should blend slowly into it from the top and the logo on the angle isnt very appealing as for the text its fine
I've no idea about doing installers so i just took a screenshot and used it as general template.
Now we're getting somewhere. Thats what we need ^^
Tu154M that art makes me want you in my pants
Tu154M that art makes me want you in my pants
Oh you :allears:
your avatar states otherwise.
My avatar is a heavy weapons guy with a pedo-smile. This means I play team fortress 2 all the time? I play games maybe an hour sometimes two a day, I have better things to do with my time. My computer = My decisions.
Oh, I really had no idea what you were looking for.
sorry for the shit post but a 2 questions 1. Will there be a usb version? 2. How good does a computer have to be to run this, my computer is crap.
sorry for the shit post but a 2 questions 1. Will there be a usb version? 2. How good does a computer have to be to run this, my computer is crap.
1: wait till it is released onto a iso file. 2: it's based on Debian/Gentoo linux, so check out their site.
If your computer is newer than 1998, then you can run it with no problems.
If your computer is newer than 1998, then you can run it with no problems.
2004, this is my secondary computer
2004, this is my secondary computer
You can run it no problem.
Im aiming to support the widest range of hardware possible. So you will be able to have a basic debian system running (486, 64mb RAM, 2gb hdd) while having the option to enable desktop effects on supported graphics hardware. So really, anything that debian runs on, this will.

I'm looking forward to this now. I dual-boot Windows 7 and Ubuntu 9.04 on my laptop, and I'd like to replace Ubuntu with this once there is a release. How goes it? Anything neat you can tell us about?
if this ever gets done ill be impressed
if this ever gets done ill be impressed
I was impressed when i heard about it. The release of this, isn't going to impress me, as i have a lot of faith in this project. I have NO reason to doubt that it's going to be "complete". (as previously mentioned, it'll never be 100% complete).

But you never know? :)
