Just tried to compile. That thing shut me and supposed "okay" knowledge of linux down right quick. I'll go read what I was supposed to now. Edit - 6 days time passed Halfway through now.
I'm done with this. I had to restart compilation maybe 6 times.
What are you trying to compile? There isn't a release yet.
SO how's the OS doing? Can you give a percentage on the completion?
SO how's the OS doing? Can you give a percentage on the completion?
0% Until further notice.
What are you trying to compile? There isn't a release yet.
I'll take my dumbs now, please. I was dicking around with(ahem) attempting to compile the buildroot.
I'll take my dumbs now, please. I was dicking around with(ahem) attempting to compile the buildroot.
Honest mistake. The buildroot will allow you to build packages from source if you want to be developing. You would first need the source code for the package and the patch set.
Bump of awesomeness
please dont bump lost causes
Bump
please dont bump lost causes
Don't worry, I won't bump your threads.
Don't worry, I won't bump your threads.
Dont go into my threads, your unwanted.
Dont go into my threads, your unwanted.
I don't think you have the right to tell him what to do. Why don't you just ignore him, and leave this thread if you don't think anything's going to happen anyway?
Dont go into my threads, your unwanted.
:irony:
Have wine pre-installed, a custom repository with Steam in it. That was not very hard to think of. Edit: I see it's already been suggested, never mind.
i agree since facepunch is pretty much about garry's mod, but than again? :&
Seems like a great idea but what is going to make this special and more than just a slightly different version of any other linux? I got an idea, make it like Cedega: you can play well known games on it without tons of problems but it'll be free.
I got an idea, make it like Cedega: you can play well known games on it without tons of problems but it'll be free.
Pretty damn impossible with the current team, if not impossible at all.
Dont go into my threads, your unwanted.
My unwanted? What is that supposed to mean?
Still nothing?
Still waiting on some work off the art team. Not holding my hopes up, so ive started some programmers art.
I'd be willing to use it with programmers art. I'm terrible enough at art that it would look beautiful to me.
Well, i'm sorry birkett but i hoped the art team would actually do something. Lazy bums.
Well, i'm sorry birkett but i hoped the art team would actually do something. Lazy bums.
Any chance you could finalise the style guide and colour scemes over the next week or so? I just need something to work with.
Yeah, might do that. But then again, my PS is fucked and won't open anything without freezing shortly after. I'll have to fix that first then.
Sorry about the art. I have been very busy lately. I'll get something posted in the next few days.
Alright, here is a mockup of the installer, since I am not sure what you guys are asking for. The links posted before to the Debian artwork are broken. So this still looks a little stale to me, but since it is just some art to get things going I'm not going to fret about it too much. Also, it doesn't help that I am still learning the ropes with Gimp. Once we get into more serious art development, I might have to switch to Photoshop. Anyway, without further ado: Image Preview You might want to view the image in a new tab. The preview tends to scrunch up the image by a few pixels, making some parts blurry. Gimp Project File Feel free to fix it up if you don't like anything.
Really nice mockup there, if it's gonna look anything like that when it's released then i'm in. Well, i'd check it out nonetheless.
Niggas better give an option for a text installer too, keyboard driven interface is where it's at.
why did you guys change the face punch logo to some weird thing, its just not facepunch
Because Facepunch studios is a commercial company.
