If it's slow to you, your processor sucks donkeyballs.
To make it run smoothly you need 4GHz Processor (sadly).
I'm running a Q9550 at 3.2 and it runs slower than my NETBOOK WHICH IS AN ATOM RUNNING XP PRO
I lol'd when i did a side by side and i allmost shat myself laughing at the irony that a netbook booted faster than my desktop running vista ultimate 64Bit SP1 (which cost me $4,500 AU in mid 2008)
Admit it, Vista is a fucking nightmare

Off the bandwagon IDIOT
there are 2 version
One is the first shitty version which people complain about
The second is one which uses Server 2003 code and is the best version of XP
I'm using that version and there is no difference in between.

Bandwagon? Since when was there bandwagon XP hate?
I genuinely hate XP. It's an old and crippled operating system that does nothing but attract viruses. And on top of all that, it's poorly organized, and fucking ugly.
also if you're referring to service packs, there are a lot more than two versions.

XP 64Bit hate bandwagon, there fucking nothing wrong with the OS.
Stop taking ideas from some of these idiots and use the OS for yourself
Hillo, for crying out loud, your almost 10 years past in technology - download and install 7 and feel the freedom, you misserable faggot...
I tried it. Didn't like it

I have used the OS. I have a copy of it on the desk behind me. Hardly any software works, there are no drivers for it, minimal documentation, no support from people who can give you more information than telling you to reboot. And on top of all that, it still picks up every virus imaginable.
The list goes on and on and on, but listing every flaw would take up so much of my time, by the time I'm done listing them, XP will be so old that it becomes irrelevant. By the time I finish listing the flaws, it would be like if I posted an article on the flaws of Mac OS 8 in two months.
^ Give this man an agree.

Honestly, I'm starting to have issues with it myself.
OP must be dumb for not seeing that Panda X is trolling.
Also, Vista sucks.

Windows 9 ftw.
Sadly, It's the truth, eventually, we will all be praising Windows 9 and calling Windows 7 a piece of crap that MS will never want to speak of again.
Except that I hated XP when it came out, and I love W7 now.
My VISTA laptop was good for like 4weeks? Then everything lagged like a mofo and all games crashed, I gave up and install the Win7 RC and it performs much faster and even the games are getting 20fps more in perfoamnce and it boosted my battery life to 3hours on balanced when it was 1hr 20mins or something on vista at the same settings. Windows 7 is by far the best OS they have produced so far, (and yes I have used the other versions, 95/98/2000/ME/XP )
[editline]01:13PM[/editline]
I do think vista is OK but I would still choose Win7 over it
Sadly, It's the truth, eventually, we will all be praising Windows 9 and calling Windows 7 a piece of crap that MS will never want to speak of again.
Whatever MS does, I hope to fuck they don't call it "Windows 9". That would be heavy lack of imagination...
Wow this thread sucks, it should be locked and thrown into a fire.
I'm fine with the people who think Vista is bad, as long as they don't shove it down our throats. I personally find Vista a very nice OS to use since SP1, and even more so on SP2. When I use XP I have a small shudder and find it very slow and clunky compared to Vista. I only use it for certain XP only things.
Also the only people I've seen who hate 7 tend to be Linux or Mac fanboys, not many Windows users can turn this shit down.
Actually, I know loads of Linux "fanboys" that actually really like the look of 7.
[editline]03:53PM[/editline]
Linux Mint 7 that is.

I liked vista before the Service packs. it was nice :)
I am sorry, if the mods does not see this as an "appropriate" thread, and to me it deserves a sticky.
Well, you're not a mod, and I think we're all glad about that.
Okay, I have seen many people complain on how Windows Vista sucks balls, and still does after the Service Pack release.
Most of these people are complete idiots, who haven't even tried the recent builds of Windows Vista. These people probably have only tried the versions that was on the first releases, that was on as good as ALL PC's during the release.
These people - are FAGGOTS. They need to calm the heck down, and take a look at the newer versions. Maybe, and only maybe, after that they will understand that Windows Vista is now a decent OS, which is just a little high on resources (Default says it needs AT LEAST 2-3 GHz Processor)
Look at Vista's system requirements from Microsoft.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-vista/get/system-requirements.aspx
That says 1GHz CPU recommended for all versions.
And I hate your use of the word faggot. Rest assured, while Vista haters may be "faggots" in your book, not all faggots are anti-Vista.
Okay, next part is Windows 7. The faggots who are mega-anti-Vista keeps going on and on that Windows 7 will just be "Shitty Windows Vista with fancy looks".
WRONG!
Well, I'm sure they use coding from Windows Vista for some parts, like Aero Effects. But adding to that - NO. I use the Windows 7 RC, and I find it will be a huge success that will give Microsoft a well-earned new position in the OS Ranking list (Hopefully Number 1!).
The Anti-Vista faggots also thinks that Win7 will run JUST AS SLOW, IF NOT SLOWER then Windows Vista.
This is a lie.
I don't disagree with any of this except your use of the word faggot. Actually, Microsoft has been the #1 OS for ages.
Windows 7 has been proven to work on 8 year old processors (we're talking older then Pentium 2), with almost no problem. Would Windows Vista do that? No. It would instantly crash on Loading screen, end of discussion.
8 years old is Pentium 3/4. :downs:
While 7 has been shown to work on Pentium IIs and IIRC some Pentium Is, you need to get your chronology right.
The same faggots also have also tried INSTALLING Windows 7 "only to see it's suckishness", but they say the installation is faulty, and Windows 7 Sucks.
BULLSHIT!
The people who can't install it are faggots who doesn't deserve to use the internet, because either they are too retarded to put an ISO on a CD, or too dumb to actually LOOK FOR A TUTORIAL (as if it would actually be needed).
I'm not going to respond to any block of text that uses the word faggot from now on.
To add on that, Microsoft has already stated you need to be EXPERIECED in computers to install it.
And that sums it up.
Yes, but a lot of the 7luminati are passing it onto their less-experienced friends, so you can't completely blame them
So, to the conclussion.
People who still think Vista sucks (without using the SP), people who think 7 Sucks without installing or who fails to install it - are RETARDS...
Or they just know that it'll run sluggishly on their computer.
And be aware of the following knowledge:
ALL WHO VOTES BE BOXES, DISAGREE OR ANY OTHER "NEGATIVE" RATING ARE THE VISTA FAGGOTS - DIE IN A FIRE!
Oh, damn. There's that annoying faggot again.

The Force of Awesome has hit the thread:
I just noticed that the thread number i 777885.
Cool. Now get that 885 worked out and we'll be cookin' with gas. :clint:
Although OP is right, he still is a huge arrogant asshat.
To make it run smoothly you need 4GHz Processor (sadly).
I had Vista running good on a 1.2 GHz.
oh wow the trolls in here
Vista is fine for what it can do. Windows 7 is better I can agree with that. I got vista on my new laptop yesterday. And I said to myself "Why not I got 3 months before I can use the free upgrade to win7 ill just stick with it." Well it turn out that vista likes to do things without your consent. Like for example, it started to defrag and do a update at the same time, which really slowed things down. But im sitting here wondering wtf, I didnt tell it to do anything and it didn't tell me it was doing anything. Thats really my only I guess pet peeve about Vista. But after it got done with all of that its running fine now. Im not doing anything major on the laptop now but its not like vista is hogging the system down with useless crap .
I haven't seen a single bug that any of the Vista haters complain about. I'm running it on a 5 year old dual core and 2gb of ram and it runs quite fine. Never crashes(When I'm not making the hardware unstable by overclocking it to high, lawl), doesn't whore resources.
O, and I have 0 updates. At all. Don't need them...hell SP1 slows my rig down!
I'll be grabbing 7 when it's actually released...I don't feel like bothering with multiple reinstalls. I'm still using the same Vista install I've been using for 6 months now. Runs damned fine.

You just said you haven't had any problems. SP1 slowing you down sounds like a problem to me.
