Not out yet. Nobody really knows when it'll be out, either. It's just sort of floating in development limbo somewhere in an American factory right now.
Apple is apparently still saying December, so it should get released pretty soon
Is the Mac pro cylinder out yet? I know a few people will be getting rid of the old tower when it does and I'm hoping to get a deal. I need a Mac to run smoke http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=15763520&linkID=9242618#section6 and I have to be able to put a Nvidia Quadro in it.
I don't believe you can have anything else than a firepro in there sadly.
I don't believe you can have anything else than a firepro in there sadly.
Isn't that why he's saying he's hoping to buy one of the old ones when the cylinder comes out?
I'm debating between getting a cylinder when my mini goes out of support or going for a tower. Something I've really come to appreciate with my mini is it's formfactor, because I find myself bringing my computer between my Mom's and Dad's quite often, and the cylinder is a lot easier to do that with. But the PMG5 style case is a lot easier to manage. Could do hackintosh, but to my knowledge it's kinda unstable and that's basically the only reason I use OS X, so Premiere and After Effects crash less often.
Less often? They shouldn't crash at all

Speaking of crashing, my ipad mini retina keeps crashing on me. I can be doing anything, web browsing, playing games, even just sitting on the home screen and it will just crash and reboot. I've tried updating IOS to the latest version through iTunes and that did bugger all. It happens usually once a day, but sometimes twice.
Less often? They shouldn't crash at all
"Adobe" and "shouldn't crash at all" in the same sentence is laughable
I guess, I haven't used anything except for Photoshop, and Flash Professional years ago back when Flash was a thing [editline]4th December 2013[/editline]
Pepper;43069871']Speaking of crashing, my ipad mini retina keeps crashing on me. I've never done much creative work outside of video, and basically all editing programs crash often. From iMovie to fucking avid, it crashes more then me on caffine

Debating getting the top of the range 15" Macbook. I do Design work and AutoCAD 3D Work so would be a windows machine aswell. Any one do this or any suggestions/tips?
So today I unpacked 3 brand new 2013 iMacs, took the plastic off and everything. It felt great. These ones were better than the previous set which only had i5 2.5GHz and 4GB of RAM. The new one's have i5 2.7GHz and 8GB of RAM and it's the new, thin version and it has Maverick on it and not 10.6.
oh god just reserved the 13" rMBP
Interesting... Any reason why?
I was mostly joking, but I dunno one day I do hope to be in editing with a Mac Pro :V
Anyone else with the 2013 MBA have some issues where the computer seems like it goes to sleep with the screen off but it won't respond unless you force it to restart by holding the power button?
I was mostly joking, but I dunno one day I do hope to be in editing with a Mac Pro :V
On the subject of editing on a Mac Pro, I started volunteering at this place from time to time after interning there for 10 weeks. It's mainly a local newspaper but they also do local TV with other volunteers such as myself. We edit footage in FCPX on what I think is a 2008 Mac Pro and it actually does reasonably well. Granted, it takes a while to do things (you can go for lunch while stabilizing an entire item's worth of clips) but it does what it needs to.
Whhhhhhhhhhyyyyyyy is there no black front/silver back iPod touch 5g over 16gb why does the 32gb one have to have an ugly white front
I'm going to start a production firm and then buy Mac Pros for everyone, then post a video to youtube of me unpackaging them and then at the end yelling "fuck you all faggots"
Do that
Do that
I need to buy myself a title that says that. Guess it's appropriate my Avatar is the premiere icon :V
The plastic covering the screens is still on. I feel like peeling it off today within the hour [editline]5th December 2013[/editline] Currently typing this on the brand new keyboards. Mmm, feels so nice. [editline]5th December 2013[/editline] [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/XWS9LHz.jpg[/thumb] aw yes
Oh god, those edges are so deliciously slim.

And they haven't specifically told us what it us (well, in reality, I don't remember any of those repairs since they were from a while ago)
i would so stick with a mac pro for video editing if the thunderbolt i/o takes off big time. but i wouldn't touch FCP X with a yard stick
i would so stick with a mac pro for video editing if the thunderbolt i/o takes off big time. but i wouldn't touch FCP X with a yard stick
I wouldn't touch FCP X with a yardstick with premiere attatched to the end, the thing is that the Mac Pro is just a really well specced system for pro apps like Premiere and AVID. I dream of the day when I can fuck with Extruded text like it's 2D text. Also step up your analogies, scrub
