Is this the 13" or 15"? Both with the IGP would struggle at native res I would think, but the 13" even more so because it doesn't have crystalwell.
13". I think it might just be poor optimization on the mac version though since I've seen a few youtube videos with people running it at 60fps on boot camp.
I've wanted to try gaming with the 1600p display. After finals I should boot camp and try out some Wii games
Does anyone know why my macbook seems to struggle to get a simple 30fps in csgo even with (mostly) the lowest settings + fps config? It's the newest retina macbook that came out this year intel iris card and all that, I can run it fine at lower resolutions but at native it can barely keep a stable 30 fps.
i can't even launch new source games on my MBP (late 2013, iris & OSX), i just get an 'OpenGL instance failed to open' error or something like that and haven't found any apparent fix anyways, is it weird that i've gotten used to using my rMBP at 2560x1600 with no scaling? i can read everything perfectly and everyone else always mentions how tiny everything is. i like the huge amount of space available to me
Need some help here. Ever since my iPod updated to 7.0.4, it has broken the sync with iTunes. I tried updating it straight after that update and it was stuck on syncing, it wouldn't go anywhere, I had 6000+ songs on my iPod now its down to around 2000. I don't know how to fix it, I tried to eject the iPod but now it says its trying to finish the sync first and its not working.

Prepping to buy a Macbook Pro Retina 13" Should I get a case, or will it be fine on its own? I've never broken/dropped any of my electronics, and I'm very safe with them, if that is a factor.
buy a carry case or something, but i would advise against a shell that sits on it all the time. really ruins the general feel and build of the laptop imho if you carry a messenger bag or large handbag with you, just buy a felt pouch or something like that
The moshi iglaze cases are our customer's favorite. Either the flat black or seethru model. There's also incipio, which has fantastic cases in different flat colors. I don't recommend cases, but there's no reason to not have one.

Last question, how is it for light gaming? I played games a lot about a year ago but I don't do that nearly as much now. I think the most intense thing I'll be doing is probably Dota 2 or JC2-MP on boot camp. Will it run them on low-medium?
mostly good for light-medium gaming. i don't know how it would run JC2 but Dota 2 runs well
mostly good for light-medium gaming. i don't know how it would run JC2 but Dota 2 runs well
Looking at JC2 minimum requirements, I'll be fine, thanks for your help.
no problem, glad i could be of any use
How good is eBook reading on the iPad? Is the Amazon Kindle app like having a kindle orrrrr? [editline]14th December 2013[/editline] Oh, and how stable is OS X on Non-Apple hardware compared to apple hardware? Was looking at a Mac Pro, but I want a MacBook aswell so I could make a hackintosh for a lot less (not as easily upgradeable) and then get an MBP, maybe, or I could just get the 2013 Pro, or get an older pro and MacBook.
How good is eBook reading on the iPad? Is the Amazon Kindle app like having a kindle orrrrr?
The displays are different. The kindle display is almost like reading on real paper (they call it e-ink I think). I own a kindle (first gen) and it comes really close to real printed paper. I don't have an iPad (yet) but since the iPad has a 'regular' display I guess reading for long hours is less comfortable. On the other hand the iPad can do 23465258 things the kindle can't.

Reading on the iPad is very nice on a retina one, but it isn't as good as an e-ink display which won't give eyestrain. The iPad isn't bad by any means though, just keep the brightness down when reading for long periods.
The battery on my MBP got replaced about 2 or 3 months ago, and it's only gone through 113 cycles - but the battery capacity is at 84% of it's original. My MBP and the battery (I think) is out of warranty - but Apple guarantees 75% of capacity after 1000 cycles. What's the chance they'll replace it out of good will?
depends who you talk to sometimes, worth a shot. also, my mbp has went through a full cycle almost every day since i've had it, yikes.
Making the switch from Android to iPhone 5S tomorrow. How is the battery life on the 5S?
Making the switch from Android to iPhone 5S tomorrow. How is the battery life on the 5S?
Mine's at 50% when I get home at 3PM, I wake up at 6AM and have music going all day, bluetooth and wifi constantly on, and the battery is ravaged from 8-11 because AWS signals have no penetration at work and the phone is constantly searching for a signal. Screen constant 50%. It's pretty good if I do say so myself.
I can't decide between the 13.3 or 15.4 is the 15.4 worth the money?
You can buy a Mac Pro tomorrow!
I can't decide between the 13.3 or 15.4 is the 15.4 worth the money?
Yes, if not because of the screen size but because of what it packs under the hood.
My current black itouch 4g is starting to slow down and die faster after a year of use, and I have a white 4g that had its screen cracked to hell, but otherwise functions like its brand new. I was going to go trade them both in to best Buy and pick up a itouch 5g while its on sale. I'm not entirely sure on this, but which is more powerful? The itouch 5g, or the iphone 5S/5C? And, is it possible to purchase the iphone and use it effectively the same way one would exclusively use the itouch, eg; -gaming -music -web browsing -video -wi-fi only
The 5C and 5S are much more powerful and despite the 5C being in theory only 2x faster than the iPod Touch 5 I'm pretty confident in saying the 5C is more than 2x faster in real use just because of the memory wall all A5 devices hit in iOS 7.
I see, so would it be possible to purchase either one without doing a contract, basically using it as I would an itouch?
I see, so would it be possible to purchase either one without doing a contract, basically using it as I would an itouch?
Buy it from the Apple store outright.
I see, so would it be possible to purchase either one without doing a contract, basically using it as I would an itouch?
That's definitely not worth it because they start at $550 for the 5C and $650 for the 5S.
Bought my Macbook Pro 13" 256GB 8GB RAM last night as my first Mac holy shit this is great.
Sooo recently I bought an ipad mini retina.I must say, I love the product . However, I have one question that i hope can be solved. I have a lot of pictures on my dropbox. I want to sync those pictures to iPhoto library, because I really like look and feel of iPhotos. Everything I tried seemd to fail. Some help would be welcome :downs: Oh yeah, iPad is also my first apple product, so Im kinda noob :v:
