if you're wanting to move a mac pro around a film set, you'd already be using a cart with all peripherals tied down anyway. it benefits businesses in terms of redundancy as you can swap out a workstation in a room and keep all external equipment hooked up beyond the computer. instead of a complete de-rig to swap out the desktop computer, then moving all the blackmagic cards and other components out the broken desktop into the replacement, you just need to hook up a couple of thunderbolts to be back online.
iFunbox just says no devices are connected, even after installing afc2add.
weird. try rebooting the iphone and laptop/desktop and open ifunbox again? it should work.
Why does apple advertise the mac pro as being black when every picture of it in real life shows that it's chrome?
I just jailbroke my iPhone 4, let's just say that some of the tweaks are unsupported...
What do you mean it's working perfectly fine, now you're the only one who can type on your phone!
Why does apple advertise the mac pro as being black when every picture of it in real life shows that it's chrome?
It's black chrome... But yeah, they probably would have been better suited going for something that wasn't polished to a mirror finish. Anodized black aluminum under a fired-on coating would have looked really nice.
So if I need a mac for photo and video editing with as much power as possible for the least price am I better off getting the basic $2600 15" macbook pro or a $2500 upgraded mac mini with 27" thunderbolt display? other recommendations appreciated.
I feel like an upgraded 27" iMac would definitely outdo the Mac Mini since the mini is going to be using Intel's HD 4000 and run a lot slower clock wise. Just for reference you can get the 27" iMac with 1TB fusion drive, GTX 775M, 3.5GHz i7 and 16GB of RAM for $2600 while the best I'm able to do is a Mac Mini with a 2.6GHz i7, 16GB of RAM, Intel HD 4000, and 1TB fusion drive with the 27" display for $2400. The iMac is obviously going to be more powerful than the rMBP too with regards to graphics and CPU clocks but the display is really nice and it's a laptop so it can go places.
the iMac kaabii mentioned and the mac mini would both be great options, but that's not to say an rMBP wouldn't be either. if you want portability, then the rMBP is surely a safe option. it's still plenty powerful, and has an excellent display.
get a better display tho
The panel on the thunderbolt display will be fine. Apple has been sending out dE<3 panels in even their cheapest iMac as of 2013, so unless they have a very low level of quality control on the thunderbolt display panels they're probably going to be pretty perfect. Really, there's a wall where improving from panels in Dell and Apple displays involves shelling out 3 grand for an Eizo.
Yeah I do kinda prefer laptops. Is there any way to make a 13" better than the 15" internally or should I just stick with a 15"
no, i don't think there is which is a shame, because a 13" laptop with the specs of the highest 15" would be beastly
Does anyone know of a potential fix for the "Unable to join the network" issue? I have an Ipod touch 3rd gen ios 5.1.1 and it sees my network but refuses to connect to it, it always had working internet before but now its decided to act like complete garbage and I would love to know if anyone know how to fix this.
I just jailbroke my iPhone 4, let's just say that some of the tweaks are unsupported...
At least there'll be a few more options to speed it up now that a JB is out! I ended up upgrading to the 5S just because I was so sick of how slow the 4 was on iOS7. My brother in law didn't care though, since he got a free iPhone out of it :v:
Managed to sell my Mac Mini with about 70 euro loss altogether. Now my wallet is so fat I can't close it properly.
It might be ridiculous but I'd love to have a thunderbolt-connected external graphics card interface for my 13 inch 2011 mbp for when I want to game when I'm at home. It's sad that the 13 inch is quite the competent laptop but the intel hd graphics pulls it all down. Couldn't they at least have included the hd 5200 iris pro in the 13 inch when they introduced the latest iteration?

And yes that is a significant exclusion, but the iris 5100 is still a competent chip. My bigger gripe with the rMBPs is that the 15" doesn't come with discrete graphics by default.
Is there anything that actually works on jailbroken iOS 7? I have flux but that's it. All of my old stuff uses the settings app to work but they don't show up.
Is there anything that actually works on jailbroken iOS 7? I have flux but that's it. All of my old stuff uses the settings app to work but they don't show up.
Mobilesubstrate doesn't work as far as I know so I wouldn't expect pretty much any tweak to work.
I'm using an iPhone 5 btw balls took my automerge

I'd be interested to see how flight case manufacturers are gonna make a foam-lined case for that bloody cylinder.
they can just roll them in and out of vans :v:
instead of a square box with square foam, what about a square box with round foam inside?
Alternately, you could just use the same boxes... The profile of a cylinder IS a rectangle, after all.
Im on 7.0 iOS, should I update to 7.0.4 or would that fuck up future (working)jailbreaks?
Im on 7.0 iOS, should I update to 7.0.4 or would that fuck up future (working)jailbreaks?
I'd do it because when Apple releases 7.1 and it fixes the exploits used you'll then be stuck on 7.0 if you want to be jailbroken.
so my friend wants to get an iPhone on Verizon, I'm assuming there are no deals on the 5? I'd doubt Apple would allow this to happen but might as well ask
