Around what times are iPhones usually announced? Yesterday i received a lot of cash from the government and i wanna upgrade my iPhone 4 to a new one. However i'm on the edge of buying it tomorrow or just wait half a year or so for the iPhone 6.
iirc it's usually around September
there are rumors going around that there may be a earlier release this year, around may
there are rumors going around that there may be a earlier release this year, around may
I think i will just wait for any new announcement, my olde iPhone 4 is still going nicely. Thanks
there are rumors going around that there may be a earlier release this year, around may
There's no validity to them. Digitimes has an accuracy approaching upon zero with regard to Apple rumors.

buy a 5s, take good care of it and sell it when the 6 comes out. pay the difference and reap the benefits at a much lower cost and have a better phone until then
buy a 5s, take good care of it and sell it when the 6 comes out. pay the difference and reap the benefits at a much lower cost and have a better phone until then
This is what I do. I don't pay any more collectively than I would just keeping a phone for 3 years as it gets slower and slower and then buying the latest one 3 years down the road, and I'm never stuck with a slow device.

Buy the iPhone 6, whenever that comes. I started out with the 3G, then the 4, then the 5 and I sure as hell intend to buy the iPhone 6, in this way I am never stuck with a slow phone, because Apple's release cycle with new software and the iPhones are pretty good in this way. I may lose a bit of money, but as I normally take care of my cellphones, I can sell them for a very beneficial price.
Is it just me or is preview a piece of shit on Mavericks. Whenever I resize an image in it, it fucking overwrites the original file without even asking me if I want to.
that doesn't mean it's a piece of shit that just means it works differently from other image viewers
Is it just me or is preview a piece of shit on Mavericks. If you edit an image and then close the window it saves when the window is closed automatically
why would you need to explicitly resize it if you don't intend on keeping the changes? just zoom in or something
My brother got an ipad mini a few weeks ago and there's already a dead pixel on it
My brother got an ipad mini a few weeks ago and there's already a dead pixel on it
bring it to an apple store? manufacturing faults happen
It's not that big of a deal, and I'm pretty sure it's not covered in the warranty which sucks. wait fuck i just found another one. Is this supposed to be common? [editline]5th January 2014[/editline] will apple stores replace faulty devices if you bought them at another store?

[editline]5th January 2014[/editline] will apple stores replace faulty devices if you bought them at another store?
I once brought my iPhone 4 in which was WAAAAY over warranty and after some chatting they came up with a new iPhone 4. Besides that, official Apple Stores sometimes also have the tools to repair screens and displays on the spot. It is definitely worth a visit.
It's a bit far out of the way where I live and there's a shit ton of snow but I'll definitely try later. does that flashing trick actually work? where you play rainbow static over a stuck pixel.

[editline]5th January 2014[/editline] will apple stores replace faulty devices if you bought them at another store?
That is something covered by Apple's warranty. They replaced my ipad mini retina for having nothing more than some yellow tint near one end of the display, and replaced one of my ipad 3s for having a speck of dust under the glass.
why would you need to explicitly resize it if you don't intend on keeping the changes? just zoom in or something
I do, I mean that if I want to resize an image to upload to the internet, but I want to keep a file of the original, I need to make a copy so it doesn't just save over the original as soon as I hit resize. I can't just resize it and hit export because that just makes two copies of the same edited image. Oh and this isn't just for resizing, if you edit an image in any way, like cropping or brightness and then close the window, good luck getting back your unedited image.
I agree that'd definitely be an annoyance. Seems like the best workaround is to just make a copy beforehand and then quickly resize one of them.

[editline]5th January 2014[/editline] will apple stores replace faulty devices if you bought them at another store?
Apple will repair but not replace things purchased from another store, you have to take it back to the place you originally got it from to get it replaced.
Apple will repair but not replace things purchased from another store, you have to take it back to the place you originally got it from to get it replaced.
Yes they will. If an Apple store can't do a repair for something in store they just replace it and ship off the defective one. I had to do it with my iPad Mini Retina I purchased at Future Shop. No Apple stores have the tools to replace things like faulty batteries or chipsets but they'll still give you service at an Apple store. In his case, he could go to Apple and they would either repair the display(good luck on an iPad) or they'll take his defective one and just give him a new one.
i think replacement rates compared to repair rates kind of depends who you're talking to and what store you're in :v: any time i've brought something to the belfast store with a minor (repairable) fault they just give me a new one and put an icloud backup on it [editline]5th January 2014[/editline] but yes, as long as it's an apple product and in warranty they will definitely repair/replace it. doesn't matter where it's bought
EDIT Completely wrong thread whoops
-snip- Also thought I was replying in the other thread :v:
Shit I posted in the wrong thread ha sorry. Thanks though
Usually the S upgrades aren't very much (3G to 3GS and 4 to 4S were just upped specs and siri) but the touch ID was actually a nice upgrade for the 5S. Maybe the 6 will be a big update.
hey does the new imacs have usb 3.0 ports on the back?
