Hello (cant read threads yet)

Shit.
I don't see why the mods/garry is against having a mobile phone app. I mean sure the site can be accessed easily already with a phone but a app would reduce the amount of data needed to browse FP to a minimum because it doesn't need to load all these icons and shit. Perhaps even disable gif's to save data.
out of interest I plugged my dead iPod touch in to iTunes
it says it's an "iPhone in recovery mode" :v:

Browsing facepunch sucks on mobile, apparently it makes your cpu run at 100 percent

I can get around decently, rating posts is a nightmare along with viewing News posts using iFrame.

Trying to use the editor to insert links or videos is almost impossible..
So you better remember those tag codes
[QUOTE=Sir Whoopsalot;43653566]Whelp, Keynote Remote is now gone from the store and its functionality has been implemented in the iOS version of Keynote.
Kind of to be expected.[/QUOTE]
This annoys me because the keynote app is half a gig, remote was like 10MB. Its nice to have it updated I guess.
Hm i think it exist some private apps for facepunch. But the People doesnt make it public cause of the bans :P
Are there any explicit problems with the iPhone 5? Anything I should worry about, my dad says he gets poor reception, but that's probably his provider
iOS 7.0.4 crashes. A lot. That's about it.
[QUOTE=woolio1;43738695]iOS 7.0.4 crashes. A lot. That's about it.[/QUOTE]
It doesn't crash near as much on phones as on tablets. The most common I hear about from phone users is Safari crashes. iPad users usually mention springboard crashes multiple times a day regardless of what they're doing. The only crash I've ever seen on my 5s is the music app crashed once, but my iPad 3 and mini retina crash multiple times a day, often when bringing up the multitasking menu.
I don't use my iPad Mini 1G that much but I never get springboard crashes on iOS 7 (it's jailbroken on the 7.0.4). The only thing that ever really crashes for me is the youtube app and sometimes spotify.

Ah... I'm on an Air, and it crashes at least once or twice a day. My 4S also does the "crash to logo" thing, but it's rarer.

My retina mini likes to crash to the apple logo at least once a day.
I thought iOS was super stable as fuck :(

It's honestly pretty depressing. This is not the type of thing you heard about devices pre-iOS 7. Version 7.1 really needs to show up and it needs to fix these issues.
On that same note, it makes me wonder if they'd dare to call whatever shows up with the next iPhone iOS 8, or if they'll go the same route as they did with the iPhone 4 and call it 7.2 or 7.3.
That's one of the things I was looking forward to coming from Android

I'll be honest I'm really not a fan of iOS 7, everything is too bright looking

I always laugh when I read this because if you look at the hex or RGB values for colors used in iOS 7 vs Android KitKat it's not any "brighter" or more gaudy.
[editline]1st February 2014[/editline]
With one exception which is the green used on the dialer, messages, and facetime icons. That neon green must be at the very tip of the sRGB triangle. They changed it on 7.1 to a darker green of lesser saturation.

It's pretty stable on iPhone, although not to the extent previous versions were, 7.1 needs to fix some stuff. The iPad build is just rough and always has been. I was shocked when they released the update for phones and tablets simultaneously.

I just meant the messaging app now has a white background instead of the previous blue, and other elements of the UI have been replaced with a startling white. I never called it gaudy, nor did I say Android looked any better, I just prefer the look of iOS 6

This is what I mean, it's hardly a deal breaker but I just don't like it personally

Oh I see. Sorry, when I hear brightness I usually think in terms of color since when I was on Android a lot of my apps had the white backgrounds that iOS 7 does so I've always felt like it was the norm. I can imagine how that could be bothersome though, especially if high contrast becomes an eye irritant. Unfortunately all I could ever say to do to avoid lots of bright white space in mobile is to buy a Windows phone because it's mainly black, but it's not quite that simple going to WP8.

I guess it's "too bright" for me because my phones default messaging app is all shades of grey or solid black
Maybe there will be a jailbreak tweak one day to change it, who knows v:v:v but It's hardly a major issue, just something I'm not a fan of
[editline]1st February 2014[/editline]
Well would you look at that, a jailbreak tweak called "eclipse" does exactly what I want (sort of, with some issues)
The reduce white point option in 7.1 might also work toward making it easier on your eyes.
[editline]1st February 2014[/editline]
Though looking at it, it doesn't seem to do that much to alter the brightness of the white. Maybe it'll be better in final.
I don't mind the white backgrounds in normal situations, but at night, anything with a white background is retinal suicide.

In terms of iOS 6.1 or whatever the last version of iOS 6 was, it was incredibly stable on iPhone and iPad. Not sure what's happened with iOS 7, it's stable on my iPhone 5 but there seems to be issues with 5s, and 4s and lower and iPads. Hopefully it will return to being very stable when ios 7.1 is released
I was thinking of getting one of those old 2010 mac pros with socket 1366. Has anyone got one, do they take 4TB drives and how much RAM can you put in them?
Apparently the absolute maximum is 128 GB RAM.
oh darn, i don't think that would be enough for my needs :(
