and apparently for some reason it says I have 56GB of backups which makes no sense unless it backs up every file I delete because I have (actual) backups on an external hard drive
Do you use Time Machine? Time Machine does this weird thing as of 10.8 (I think) where is keeps a sparse bundle or something around that's looks the exact size of your backup, but it actually takes up 0kb. I can't remember how to get rid of it, but if it is that it's nothing to be worried about
Time machine backs up files locally for a period of time. If you keep backing up to an external location, then the space will open up in the next few days.
Just upgraded my iPad Mini to a Mini w/ Retina Display.
does anyone know of a free anti virus/malware remover? I have some bug that randomly highlights words in yellow in chrome and when I scroll over the highlighted word it like defines it some shit and i dont think its an extension because I am very very selective in which extensions I use and make sure they arent doing anything evil

There (as of now) no available jailbreaks for iOS 7.1

But I'm currently using 7.0.4 on it

Goto fail.
Also I don't think you can hacktivate it.
My friend has a 3gs running whatever the latest version it accepts, and he tried to send me hundreds of emojis in a single imessage, and now his message app crashes whenever he opens it :v:
This means he can't really use his phone, what should he do?

Have you tried sending him a small message back and having him open the app after restarting his phone? He might be able to keep the app open to delete the message thread if it's not rendering the billion emojis in the preview field for your conversation. I hate to say it but if that doesn't work he'd probably have to use the erase all content and settings function or restore.

Yeah we tried that, we tried rebooting, sending a message and opening it from the lockscreen and while the phone was unlocked, every time it would go to the messages app and then crash
Ah well, he said he's alright with restoring it
Can you recommend some high-quality screen protectors for iPhone 5? Price is not important.

honestly i wouldn't use one, the screen is incredibly hard to scratch.

I've already caught one little scratch. It is tiny, but annoying. So I want to avoid these in future.

99% of screen protectors scratch easier than the phone itself

Tempered glass screen protectors are nice. iPhones pick up more hairline scratches than the user typically realizes. If you shine on a very high intensity light you can see them on the glass. I don't use a screen protector though.
Do you guys know what games a macbook air with an intel core i5 with intel hd graphics 3000 can play? i don't expect it to be able to play games that need a strong ass computer or anything like that.

That's the effect. If I am tired of scratched screen, I can easily replace it.

get glass screen protectors, those are much smoother than film ones.
Well. The start of a new era for me! After a year of deliberation, questioning myself and fobbing off the Apple logo every time I see it I've finally jumped.
1 27" iMac, 16GB iPad and iPhone later... Can I call myself part of the family now?

It should cope with a couple of the source games I reckon. I play gmod and no more room in hell occasionally on my MPB with hd 3000 and it works well (it has a 2.7 GHz i7 though)
Guys how do i uninstall a program on a macbook air? i have never done it before, seeing as i am mostly a windows user.
delete the .app
some have files in /username/Library somewhere. usually only applications that use an installer, otherwise most of everything is in the .app file

So like go into the applications folder and just delete the program in there?
pretty much. if there is any content from an application anywhere else, it won't be the bulk of it. but rather, configuration files and the like
I jailbreaked my iPhone 4 7.1.1 the other day.
Shit's amazing.
I want to burn some files onto a CD with my macbook, but Isoburner wants me to pay, any other good(and free) alternatives for mac?

Check to see if Imgburn works on Mac, that program is free to use.

There's is an alternative version for mac, but I managed to burn the iso with another program. It's working now.
Thanks for the suggestion though, I recall using IMGburn for my Windows PC before.
