do the type covers work?

Bought an Sp2 and a Late 2k13 13" to compare head to head in November. I really wanted something in the middle like Osx on the Sp2, but the lack of support and that small screen are a bummer for using it as my only computer.
so i made the plunge and got a late 2013 13" MBPr! So far I love it! I had the ram upped to 8 gb though and kept it at 128 SSD. I'm going to invest in a good external hard drive soon. My only issue I've seen is I've only installed Spotify, uTorrent and flash player and I'm already down to 99.34 gb :/ What gives? I thought OSX only takes up like 7 gig so I should be floating around 120ish.. I can't figure out for the life of me what's taking up space

Think it might be a case of "Marketing Storage" vs "Actual Storage?" For instance, most computer companies sell their storage devices using the "1000Mb = 1Gb" metric, but in actuality, 1024Mb = 1Gb. So you get a 500GB hard drive, and you find out you're missing about 50GB of space. I don't know if Apple does this, but I know most companies do.
you've got ilife apps, and it's usually 127 or 126 real storage. Go to the apple top left, about this mac, more info, storage tab and see what's what.

This is why we need to start differentiating Megabytes and Mebibytes.
How nice does it play with touch control?
he's using vmware right now which is pretty fucking shit with touch but when booting natively it works, gestures and all (though it might require some special driver shit, although seems like that's not the case with yosemite)
get rid of any of the stock apps you don't need garageband takes up a fair amount of space, so does iMovie
that free'd up about 5 GB, cool. it just says 'Other' for like almost 10 GB of shit which i don't know what the fuck that entails
are people this dumb
i'm a bit late on it, but just caught up with news about OSX 10.10. Even happier with my purchase now the sms feature seems pretty cool. honestly i was thinking I'd change to android after I was done with my iPhone 5, but with all this integration going on I might just get an iPhone 6/6S
Ok, so, I want to buy an iPhone 6 while I'm on holiday in the US. I know that the iPhone 5S unlocked model from T-Mobile supports the LTE bands used in the UK so hopefully the iPhone 6 should keep the same functionality (if not better). But does anyone know about AppleCare+? I know that stores in the UK will refuse to service a US iPhone on standard warranty, but would AC+ be international?
At least its not just the Windows 7 users who are complete Luddites.
I downgraded to Windows 7 this week, after using Windows 8(.1) since launch. In my defense, I did it so I could actually get a wireless adapter that works. Every one I've tried thus far has terrible driver support for Windows 8(.1). Intermittent connections, instability under load, constant connection drops, that sort of thing. Also, the over clocking utilities for my motherboard have only been updated to Windows 7. If I wanted to get any more life out of my desktop, I had to downgrade. On top of all that, I get better performance in a bunch of older games. They changed the graphics and rendering pipeline in Windows 8, which caused framerate drops, stutters, and poor performance in most games built on older versions of DirectX and OpenGL. (In Windows 7, I get well over 200FPS in KotOR. In Windows 8(.1), I get 10-15fps.) Not a luddite. Windows 8(.1) just isn't 100% usable for me yet. If they ever get to that point, I'll go back. I actually really like the interface changes, including the Start Screen, and I'm going to miss the performance improvements. Still, having a computer that works for the purposes I use it for is more important to me than a shiny new UI and faster boot times. (I'm probably going to end up throwing 8.1 on my laptop, though. Does Boot Camp work properly yet?)
God damn, I finally won a 15" Retina Macbook Pro on ebay! I got the 750M version with applecare to October 2016 for £1465. 30 cycles and a ding on the corner are the only drawbacks. Brand new as student costs £1869. Very happy as I've lost out on half a dozen auctions in the last two weeks. Do you guys think I got a good deal?
i use windows 7 because i haven't paid for another operating system in 5+ years and i don't feel like spending money on windows now [editline]14th June 2014[/editline]
God damn, I finally won a 15" Retina Macbook Pro on ebay! Maybe they'll call it the iPhone 5X.
What is it?
iPhone 6 XL Maxx posted buy some trusted apple leaker.
those don't align with jony ive's general design scheme at all i'll stay skeptic until october
http://www.tuaw.com/2014/04/16/its-way-too-easy-to-fake-a-photo-of-a-new-iphone/ That's all there is to be said about iPhone leaks. [editline]14th June 2014[/editline] Also who is this trusted Apple leaker.
http://www.gizmodo.co.uk/2014/06/this-is-the-new-iphone-6-claims-reliable-source/
i wouldn't trust gizmodo even if they let me touch and use the prototype
I wouldn't trust anything until apple announce it or it gets left in a bar.
Well, a lot of sources predicted iPhone 5 being taller.
Well, a lot of sources predicted iPhone 5 being taller.
Nobody showed an essentially constructed iPhone 5 4 months before it came out. [editline]14th June 2014[/editline] Can I also just mention that the home buttons in those pictures are not centred between the bottom of the device and the bottom of the display which would be extremely unusual from a design standpoint. The front camera on the smaller device is also ridiculously close to the top bezel and there'd be no room to stick a sensor of any decent size there if it was indeed designed that way. [editline]14th June 2014[/editline] Supposed back shot from the very same source. Fake as hell. The plastic lines are way too thick for what they need to do and the dual LED flash is gone.
The plastic filler on the HTC One was only there for the antennas and its a similar thickness. [editline]14th June 2014[/editline] Regardless, if that is real (which there isn't a chance in hell of it being) Jobs is spinning in his grave.
I have the HTC One M7 and the lines seem like 1/3, maybe 1/2 the thickness of that supposed iPhone photo.
