I'm not seeing any pixelation. It's a gradient of colors so I don't know what there is to be pixelated to begin with.
-snip, totally dumb old me-
apple took a turn for the worst? isn't that entirely your own fault?
Does anyone think it would be possible to modify a dslr to shoot video with the flash on. Kind've like how the camera software works on iOS?
apple took a turn for the worst? isn't that entirely your own fault?
eep. Yeah, sorry. Panicking over something silly.
Does anyone think it would be possible to modify a dslr to shoot video with the flash on. Kind've like how the camera software works on iOS?
impossible. high power flash can't run constantly like that without catching on fire get an LED hotshoe panel
So does anyone here that also uses android know a good alternative to EZ file reader that I can use on Iphone?
So does anyone here that also uses android know a good alternative to EZ file reader that I can use on Iphone?
If you mean ES file explorer there's no accessible filesystem on iOS.
If you mean ES file explorer there's no accessible filesystem on iOS.
Well, there is if you jailbreak and install iFile, but that's probably not what he's looking for.
Well I'm more looking for something that automatically detects computers and servers in my LAN and makes it possible to transfer files between without any problems. Most I've found requires me to either pay to have several servers or just to detect devices. In EZ on android i could find my computer without a problem and stream file I share via lan. So TL;DR something that detects devices in lan automatically and allows me to move files between and stream without writing the IP.

I know Airdrop does that in iOS 8, but only for macs.

It's that time of year again, back to school sales are everywhere and I'm looking for my first laptop. I checked the refurbished section for Canada and it seems like there is no more of the non-Retina 15.6 inch macbook pros...

It was an abomination anyway. The prices on the refurbs of the "old" Haswell rMBPs are EXTREMELY good right now.

How's Pixelmator for general image editing? I'm using GIMP right now, and what I've read seems to point that Pixelmator's a better program, but does anyone here have any personal experience with it?

gary can you get student discounts?
The student discounts in Canada aren't that great compared to buying refurbished. You'll save $100 on the current base 15" rMBP which only brings you to $1999. That's a lot of money for 8GB more RAM and 200MHz on the CPU compared to the "refurb". The one situation where it's advisable to go with the student discount is when you're buying Applecare and/or doing SSD upgrades because the student discount gives $50 off SSD upgrades and like $120 off Applecare which significantly reduces the price delta. Right now there's also the $110 Apple Store gift card to be factored it. But when buying the laptop alone it's probably best right now to go refurbished. It should also be noted that the 13" and 15" models that suddenly popped up in the refurbished store are in all likelihood actually just Apple getting rid of old stock.
I was about to ask if it was better to just get a student account, you're right it is generally better to just get the refurb. I was thinking of getting an SSD upgrade but I realized that won't work on the refurb and it's only the base models that are available refurbished. Now I am thinking of getting Apple Care with the refurb too but I don't think I can get a student discount on Apple Care for a refurb..?
No, no student discounts for refurbs.
I mean for Apple care for refurbished.
How's Pixelmator for general image editing? I've never used gimp so I don't know how it compares. It's a good cheap option as long as you're not using it for serious graphic design or something like that.
I mean for Apple care for refurbished.
No because for refurbs you have to go through the refurbished store, and for education you go through the education store. There's no way to somehow apply them to one common checkout cart (I've tried). That's what I meant by no student discounts for refurbs, you can't get them in that section of the online store.
Which of the following should I buy: Just updated mid-2014 base 15": retina display 2.2ghz quad core i7, turbo boost to 3.4ghz 16gb 1600mhz ram ddr3l 256gb flash memory intel iris pro graphics refurbished february 2013 15": retina display 2.7ghz quad core i7, turbo boost to 3.7ghz 16gb 1600mhz ram ddr3l 512gb flash memory intel HD graphics 4000 and NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with 1GB of GDDR5 memory (??? idk what that means but sounds better than Iris Pro) the refurb is $1899 and the just refreshed one is $2000 but the student discount gets the new one down to the same price. I am guessing the refurbed one because its the same price and better or at least equal in every possible way. what do you think tho? link to refurbed: http://store.apple.com/us-hed/product/FE665LL/A/refurbished-154-inch-macBook-Pro-27ghz-Quad-core-Intel-i7-with-retina-Display# rate optimistic for refurbed one, useful for the new one
