As in, it's not showing up when searching 'bootcamp assistant' or it's just not there at all?
It doesn't show it if I type it in or look for it in Launchpad.
I know this sounds silly but have you tried searching for it as 'boot camp'? It's 2 separate words. And have you checked the Utilities part of Launchpad?
I looked through it all.
You said it's a school laptop. Maybe it's been restricted by the IT department? Unless it's college, and you bought it yourself. Not sure what to do there.
Well, it's dumb they made us setup some 3rd party backup program and they limit it by making it OSx only. I just really planned on using it for Mount and Blade during study hall anyways though.

It's a public computer that they've let you borrow. Having you fool around with it isn't good for the IT department. If you want to change how the device works, you might want to try owning it first.
You do got a point. I've just never been in possession of an Apple computer and it felt really more locked down than usual. I wish downloas Steam later though.
I hope Apple stick to their design language of the iPhone 4 and 5 with the 6 / 6L. I liked the looks of the 5 but those rounded corners of the phone and super-ultra-thin-you're-not-gonna-get-very-good-battery-life design in pretty much all the leaks really aren't doing it for me. Hopefully they're just fake.
They won't. It's ergonomically horrible and doesn't scale to large phones. Also how can you tell the battery capacity from leaked photos of the outside of the phone?

Granted, most leaks aren't 100% fact either. A lot of these pictures have been mockups from the same small factory in China, nothing's actually come out of Foxconn yet. I don't know if the leaked photos are real. They could be, but they just don't seem right. Honestly, the big plastic bands are what's throwing me off.

If you open activity monitor are their any processes owned by root or another user that's not in your name? They probably did restrict it; at our college when using the PCs, if you lock the computer but don't log out it creates a HUGE headache for the IT department. They have to shut it off, wipe it, reimage it, and then set up the accounts again. Your school might be avoiding that.
I don't know if this still works, but if you install the the 30-day trial of iWork '09, the app store will automatically update them (pages, numbers, keynote) to the full version of iWork '13. See this guide: http://lifehacker.com/get-iwork-for-free-on-any-os-x-mavericks-machine-1469700860
Lol, I'm going to try this out now [editline]1st September 2014[/editline] Aw yes, it worked
I'll hold the iPad, I need a mac to use eclipse and another developers programs... Should I get a rMBP (Mid 2014, 8Gb, 128SSD) or a MPB non-retina(Mid 2012, upgradable RAM and HD -> SSD) ? I'll make a Dual Boot or use some kind of VM, I need some windows applications for assembly. Retina is not too special for me, yeah, it's cool but only that. The question is: the rMBP with 128Gb is enough for run both OS? Or I'll get problems with space? Shit, Apple make this non-upgradable Macbooks :( Give me a light guys... :(( http://www.ishopcolombia.com/web-wp/?product=macbook-pro-retina-13-me864 - rMPB ~ $1500,34 or http://www.ishopcolombia.com/web-wp/?product=macbook-pro-13%E2%80%B3-md101 ~ $1071,52 Going to a trip to colombia, here in brazil, everthing from Apple is expensive.
I couldn't really live with a 128GB SSD in today's world. 256 would be my minimum.
For dual boot, 128GB will definitely be cramped. The 256GB would be a better option and the non-retina MBP packs a fair punch for being 2 years old. Windows also blows on the Retina's 2560x1600 display.
got a 10gb windows install on my 128gb drive [editline]3rd September 2014[/editline] ofc i use an external hard drive and i can install windows stuff to that but still
And there is a way to upgrade a rMBP (SSD Only) ?
And there is a way to upgrade a rMBP (SSD Only) ?
Yes. You need a torx screwdriver to remove the maintenance cover of the rMBP. Under it is the logic board, fan(s) and the PCI-e SSD in it's only slot. You can swap it out with third party SSDs, OWC do some SSDs tailored for the MacBook Pro Retina and you can use 480GB. I'm going to plan on doing that when I can.
Yosemite, go get a cup of coffee or go home.

I might go for an iPhone someday (too expensive ;-;), is there anything I need to know about switching from Android to iOS? I've tried the iPhone 5 out for a while and it was really good compared to every Android device I've used.

Outside of that, iOS is really self-explanatory.

Newest or mid-tier only.
So what do you guys wish to see tomorrow at the keynote?
a new apple tv, or mac mini
Personally, I'd like to see an iWatch, but I don't know if I'd like what I saw... I'm really hoping they don't just follow the rest of the industry on what a smartwatch should be.
Yeah I'd also like to see what kind of smartwatch vision they've had in mind. Hope the iPhone 6 can come with a couple more surprises since it feels like everything has been spoiled already
