Does anyone know of a good, functional way to transfer files from my PC to my iPod Touch 5th Gen? The new iTunes doesn't seem to "like" transfers not done through the store. My iPod is Jailbroken so that wouldn't be an issue.
What external HDD size would you guys recommend for Time Machine?

1TB drives, three of them, in RAID format, with whatever you can uploaded to iCloud as well.
Data doesn't exist unless it exists in more than one place simultaneously.

I use iFunbox.
The only problem I have with this mac is that I can't click the scroll wheel to open a new tab, I use the Mighty Mouse.
The mighty mouse (corded standard apple mouse with the small ball on the top) is a heap of shit. Burn it, with wildfire.
They break so damn easily that they're not worth anyones time or patience to use.

Just get yourself a normal mouse, you don't have to use apple products all the time.

My goddamn MOM INSISTS I use all apple everything. She doesn't know about the cinema displays
You should tell her about it.
And then get one.

I don't have room for one, and she'd make me save up for half which would be INSANE. Speaking of which, is it worth it to get a 2008 MBA? They go for like 200-300 these days, and mountain lion doesn't have very many outstanding things that lion/snow leopard doesn't have, if not more because I could run final cut studio in Retina
[editline]6th May 2013[/editline]
Should I go for firewire or USB 3.0?
It'd be a perfectly fine web browsing machine.
You can also put Mountain Lion on the MBA if you wanted, it works on 2008 MBs, MBPs, and MBAs.
Now that I think about it, careful with the cheaper ones. The ones I see on Ebay have quite a lot of cosmetic and sometimes functional damage.

Thanks, looks good. I'll post again if all goes well.
For a Time Machine Hardrive, USB 3.0 or FireWire???

USB 3.0.

Time Machine and not Time Capsule right? TC doesn't support either but if you're plugging it into the computer then I'd suggest Firewire since it's going to be faster than USB2.
which is still a big problem.
I have more tweaks and themes installed than you but i get only 30% ram usage upon rebooting.
hmmm..
I just let R.A.T. run over my device to remove all tweaks.
I'll test it a few days without any tweaks to see how my ram/battery is behaving.
Use regular mouse + trackpad if you use a desktop

USB 3 is loads faster than firewire.
I'm considering buying the 15 inch Retina MBP, the one with the 512gb SSD. Refurbished is way cheaper so I'm considering that route, is this a bad move?

Apple refurbs have the same one year warranty, a new casing, and a new battery. Don't see why you wouldn't buy one if it's available.
moist.
Oh uh
...refurbs come in nondescript cardboard boxes, not the fancy white ones afforded to new gear...
If you're really going to need the box, you need to pay the few hundred dollar premium for a new one.

Consumer reviews. Adults trust consumer reviews magazines over almost everything.

Besides laptops, I haven't seen a pre-built in my family.
My brothers are engineers and they know where to look. We're all pretty biased towards what we're buying.

Something tells me Mist's mom isn't an engineer.

No, but you're generalizing 'adults'.
You should have said MOST. And my mom isn't an engineer either damnit.
