You can re enable the sidebar
You can re enable the sidebar
can you even use itunes properly without it? :S (CTRL+S on Windows)
I didn't know there was a shortcut for it, i just re enabled it through the settings.
You can re enable the sidebar
I had to re-enable it every time I opened it, and that annoyed me too much to bother keeping it I don't use my iTunes library, which is what the update was centered around
iTunes? [sp]Also, pretty ironic that you're running firefox :v: - crashes too often[/sp]
I use Chrome. I used to use FF, because chrome was slow on my PC, but Chrome works like a charm on this Mac.
I had to re-enable it every time I opened it, and that annoyed me too much to bother keeping it I don't use my iTunes library, which is what the update was centered around
It stays enabled for me.
It stays enabled for me.
I don't know then, I was sure it should, but it never did, and I see no point in updating what already works
I use Chrome. I used to use FF, because chrome was slow on my PC, but Chrome works like a charm on this Mac.
'used to'. I guess 1½ hours is a long time for ya [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/taXG4lL.png[/img_thumb]

What PPC Mac should I use for a Torrentbox/File Server? I'd like something small, or all in one like maybe an iMac G4
when i went to media markt i saw a mac computer for the price of $19686. it had 64 gigabyte ram, 2tb ssd storage and 2 5670's [sp]there was a folder called "buy a car instead" on the desktop[/sp]
I think over half the price is the SSD
you could buy a rig with 4x titans with that money [editline]11th May 2013[/editline] a hackintosh machine for a quarter of the price
What PPC Mac should I use for a Torrentbox/File Server? I'd like something small, or all in one like maybe an iMac G4
Just run Linux on a VPS, gosh.
What PPC Mac should I use for a Torrentbox/File Server? I'd like something small, or all in one like maybe an iMac G4
You're, uh, kidding, right? After your big rant on how PPC was useless, you're asking for advice about PPC? How about no? Flippy-floppy stuff is frowned upon, and shall not be tolerated.
How about you get off my case about being young, you're not contributing anything and you aren't answering my question, kill urself. [editline]11th May 2013[/editline] And their useful for seeding and downloading torrents, a media server sort of makes no sense because PowerPCs can't use flash very well. Never said anything about your age. Not this time, anyway... Calm down, get off your bum, and find something constructive to do instead of telling people to commit suicide. (Why is a PPC Mac, most of which only have 10/100 ethernet, better than a Linux box that has 10/100/1000? Answer: It isn't. You're looking at the same file seeding capacity as a RasPi... Not that I'd ever do something of the sort, and I'm wondering if you're not fishing for a ban with that almost blatant comment about you-know-whats. The mods are watching.)
Who said I was downloading copyrighted content? [editline]11th May 2013[/editline] So should I install linux on my old computer and use that?
Who said I was downloading copyrighted content? [editline]11th May 2013[/editline] So should I install linux on my old computer and use that?
Would make better sense. Just setup SSH, use PuTTy or the Mac Terminal to connect and then remove the GPU (If it's dedicated). That way you use less power. My server only has power plug & ethernet in it.
For those interested, I finally got the bluetooth mouse working with the iPad by installing the old BTstack, pairing the mouse through it (there it was visable), disconnecting the mouse, removing BTstack and then re-pairing through the bluetooth companion. I have also learned it is possible to connect a wireless logitech unifying keyboard by inserting the unifying dongle in the CCK-USB-port. Lost portability waddup
My old computer is windows
My old computer is windows
install ubuntu server on that old computer
My old computer is windows
http://www.ubuntu.com/download/server [sp]I know there are other alternatives, but Ubuntu is straight-forward for new people and the aptitude is pretty easy[/sp]
Freenas is pretty nice for fileservers and can be used for a media server too. It's based on debian and consumes bugger all resources.
What is Apple going to do with their retina display on the iPhone to keep up with other manufacturers? Those 1920x1080 displays are hanging between 440-470ppi at 1920x1080 and we've seen 500ppi displays from manufacturers as prototypes. But even if they wanted to do their integer scaling thing and went to 2272x1280 they'd never be able to make the panels on LTPS or IGZO at 4", it'd be an impossible 652ppi. Maybe they'll just do something like 1920x1080(even that at 550ppi seems to be pushing it) and have the GPU scale the image. Their chips are more than powerful enough to do scaling, but it won't look as nice as what we've had with integer scaling.

You sure it doesn't mean the two slots support 4GB DIMMs?
I hooked up a second monitor. Playing Portal 2 whilst watch Dr. Who is one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had
You sure it doesn't mean the two slots support 4GB DIMMs?
It's 4GB total. The 2008 models unofficially support 8GB total after a "secret" firmware update that was released a year or so ago.
