Apple just couldn't figure out mice until the magic mouse, which is their first decent one.
I'm still not sure they figured it out... The Magic Mouse is not without its problems, like the random scrolling and zooming, bad ergonomics, and spotty tracking.
The Mighty Mouse is decent. The argument wasn't about mice, it was about computers.
the 3d effect on app icons is pretty cool. I just want swype, though
The Mighty Mouse is decent. The argument wasn't about mice, it was about computers.
Correction: The argument was about design during the era of Steve. I brought up an example of design under the era of Steve.
The mighty mouse is crap though
The mighty mouse is crap though
Yeah I never get frustrated with anything, but using the mighty mouse was one of the most frustrating events of my life. The right click detection is awful, and it's just awkward to hold.
none of the neat graphical fiddly bits are enabled on a 4 so the dock looks dumb because its this gray splotch, and the wallpaper doesn't move (don't care about the wallpaper, but the dock looks ugly) [editline]11th June 2013[/editline] the lockscreen battery is no more instead it says "charging x%" in place of the date for a second after turning it on
the mighty mouse blows because of the dumb squeeze thing whoops I tapped the side of the mouse ACTIVATE CASCADE
It's a heap of shit and oil gets trapped in the scroll wheel making scrolling impossible without doing a "figure 8 on an A4 sheet of paper".
Is £485 a good price for a MacBook Pro? 15" with i7, not sure about the other specs.
Depends on condition
i'd say that is a pretty freaking good price [editline]12th June 2013[/editline]
Depends on condition
yeah, but even with a couple of dents and scrapes a working laptop with i7 and an apple badge for £485 is not bad, most of the Core 2 ones go for more.
So how buggy is iOS 7? Is it already enough stable to use it on my main phone?
It's pretty buggy. Apps crashing etc.
Posting from my shiny new MBA, love it! [editline]12th June 2013[/editline] Btw, would it be better to bootcamp Windows 8 or run it in a VM off a USB 3.0 drive, considering a 128 gb SSD?
bootcamp will always run faster and won't necessarily take up more space
Bootcamp will be faster nonetheless and you won't be running both OS's (and have emulating overhead and the fact that it's virtual). What are you going to be using it for? (Windows)
Mostly for a few tidbits of software that are Windows only.
Mostly for a few tidbits of software that are Windows only.
Then it's fine. You could try running them through wineskin though. It's only if you plan on gaming or something that it's a problem.
It's pretty buggy. Apps crashing etc.
the only two apps that crash for me are google plus and kik
Can someone throw a link to an iOS7 beta download, if available? Thanks in advance
Can someone throw a link to an iOS7 beta download, if available? Thanks in advance

http://imzdl.com/ios.php http://gdeluxe.com/iOS-7-download/ [editline]12th June 2013[/editline] It's pretty buggy right now. Some parts are unfinished or screwy and some apps like Steam and Skype don't currently work
For the apps I use regularly it works just fine. It is kind of buggy on my 4S, but it's the first beta build so what do you expect?
http://dribbble.com/shots/1109343-iOS-7-Redesign I like this redesign, follows Apple's vision but looks significantly better. [editline]12th June 2013[/editline] This one's nice too http://dribbble.com/shots/1111094-iOS-7-Icons
I'm sure the new aesthetic will be evolved. People need to realize Jony Ive took over head of Human Interface only SEVEN months ago. That's a short friggin time to redesign an entire operating system.
The icons look a lot better anyway when using it in real life. It still can't get how awesome this redesign is.
The icons look a lot better anyway when using it in real life. It still can't get how awesome this redesign is.
A big problem is these people viewing screenshots on their monitors with the contrast and brightness way too high, with a white point of 8000, and washed out colors so everything just looks eye searingly bright when they see iOS 7 screenshots.
The icons look a lot better anyway when using it in real life. It still can't get how awesome this redesign is.
It looks a little toy-ish for my tastes. I just hope someone will make a jailbreak theme more similar to the current UI.
What I want to know is why they STILL USE GRADIENTS. Seriously... Did they not say they wanted things to be flat? Gradients do not make things flat, Mr. Ive.
What I want to know is why they STILL USE GRADIENTS. Seriously... Did they not say they wanted things to be flat? Gradients do not make things flat, Mr. Ive.
TBH, I rather have some gradient, or some form of depths, rather than totally flat. But what iOS had before was just ridiculous.
this is why: "From what we’ve heard, SVP of Design Jony Ive (also now Apple’s head of Human Interaction) brought the print and web marketing design team in to set the look and color palette of the stock app icons. They then handed those off to the app design teams who did their own work on the ‘interiors’, with those palettes as a guide." also oh god send help tweetbot won't stop notifying on the beta
