Maybe it's just a kinda stripped down version? Like, I think people can edit documents on SkyDrive like you can on Google Docs, maybe it's just that?

Well there's not really much more you need, since office programs exist so you can create and edit documents. The only feature I'd really like is being able to playback keynote presentations within the browser, and I'd imagine that'd be supported. They looked equally or more capable than the iOS versions and that alone is great because iWork for iOS is the best office suite behind actual desktop office software(excluding MS Office for winRT since that's definitely right there beside the desktop one).
Keynote presentations through a web browser is one of those things we all wish Apple would've thought of earlier - the lead's considerably thinned, but I've still convinced myself that Keynote's the best damned presentation tool to use; it's just that anything special it does gets mangled in export and there goes the advantages.
Anyone here ever used an Apple router. My friend has one and it supports all of the shit in his house and is easy to use. I just don't want to spend $100 on something that might not be good.

are you talking about the new airport extreme or airport express?
The $100 one. I think it's the express.

the router seems kinda nice if you need to stream music from the pc to a speaker without wifi connection
or you need a printer shared (again without wifi connection) but if you dont need that i wouldn't get one
as it still has 100mbps ports and doesnt support harddrives or usb drives through the usb port
It really bugs me how in the new MBA reviews people keep going on about the screen resolution and how the design hasn't changed.
1440x900 on a 13 inch screen seems like a great thing (then again, I'm coming from a 15 inch 1366x768 laptop so anything feels better) and what exactly is wrong with the MBA's design?
[editline]15th June 2013[/editline]
While I'm here, anybody know a network monitor (preferably one that goes in the top bar) that can also show me which processes/programs are taking network usage?
It doesn't go in the top bar, but istat pro is good, it's in the dashboard

Yet none of them comment on how it's washed out and only usable when viewing head on. Technology "reviews" outside of Anandtech and maybe Ars are useless. 1440x900 is fine, and they wouldn't be getting that all day battery life if it was significantly higher.
[editline]15th June 2013[/editline]
Oh and the design criticism I usually see is that it hasn't changed and isn't as thin as other laptops. Those other laptops also last like four hours because there's no room for the battery but ykno, they're 3mm thinner.
The Mac App Store has a fair few apps for window snapping. Some better than others. I use splitscreen since it works with every app and lets you use keyboard shortcuts too.
1400x900 on 13' inch screen is great imo. With the hd5000, its a great balance between the gpu and the pixels it has to push. Also text won't look so tiny.
1920x1080 on a 15' incher is the perfect resolution too, with maybe a 765m.
This year's 15' laptops running 765m above should be able to get a decent framerate on most games at high settings.
Also what pisses me off is that i still see 15 inchers with 1366x768 screens. Hope it will stop ASAP.
Also to be relevant, I will probably be buying the iPad mini 2.
If things go accordingly, I'll be picking up some bulk 27" Imacs for around $300 a piece.

15" 1080p Lenovo Y500 with single GT 750m works fine on Metro 2033 at normal, but I can stuff a second 750m in which will run circles around a 765m.
Upgraded my sister to an iPhone 5 and let me tell you what a colossal fucking joke Verizon is.
We gave the store her number, twice. First time to get in "line" to get helped by an associate, the second time when the associate started helping us.
[B]THEY STILL ACTIVATED IT ON THE WRONG LINE.[/B]
Of course, we didn't notice this in store, and I particularly noticed that she never double-checked with us (there are two phone numbers on the family plan with the same last 4 digits) and she never asked my sister to turn her old phone off.
Did I mention they want to bill us for the cost of the 30mb my sister used while it was activated on my mom's line at the dumbphone data rate? Yeah, that's like $60.

Just joined the club as well... right before the Y510 came out. That's what you get for still trying to believe that Lenovo's other lines play second fiddle to the Thinkpads.

The Y500 was $470 off, the Y510 was a week away from release, and Haswell wasn't going to make a huge difference in a "gaming" laptop. Y500 was a good buy for me.

I might even hackintosh it, I like it so much.

They're abominations of computers and they need to die ASAP, preferably yesterday.

Agreed. 1440x900 is a MINIMUM at 15". And only if it's well made and crisp, otherwise I demand 1680x1050.

In general, even a crappy 16:10 screen will make me happier than an okay 16:9.

1920x1200 vs 1920x1080 for example
I sold my iPad 2 16gb wifi for over $300 on eBay a couple weeks ago, really happy I did with iOS7 coming out and my eyes on a 4g mini.
Any suggestions on portable external hard drives? I feel like thunderbolt is too new to see any real advantage over usb 3.0. I've got an early 2013 retina mbp that I wanna use it with and I care more about capacity than

How ironic: the last time I'd looked at efforts to get OS X running on the Y500, people'd ran up against boot showstopper issues with the stillborn HD4000 (AFAIremember.)

Aww. I don't think this thing has an IGP, does it? Or is that what you meant?
Just installed iOS 7 on my 4S.
Well, I can bear with some lags, or with app crashes... but battery is discharging really fast, and phone itself is overheating a lot.
Or this is just me?

Not sure what you expect from an unfinished product.

Nothing, I am just asking, does anyone have problems like these?
I don't like to have something this hot in my pocket, you know D:
My friend with iOS 7 on a 4S reports no significant increases in temperature. There's not really any reason it should, considering the A5 doesn't really get hot even when maxed out.
Could it be because of the installation method I used? (Upgrade instead of restore)

I decided to check out mavericks and I won't be buying it, everything I can do here is done in mountain lion,I don't even use fullscreen apps so I don't really care. I only actually use my Second Monitor when I'm streaming, other times it's deticated to my PS3 (soon to be 360, switching boats)

No. You probably just have a different binned A5(A5 for phones can be chips too slow to run in iPad) and something is probably keeping the CPU maxed out creating heat and killing battery life.
Killed everything, and leaving phone for night. Ill see, how long will it last
