[QUOTE=loophole;41133793]I mean OS 10.x.[/QUOTE]
If you go to the operating systems button and select desktop by version, you can see the overall market percentage of OSX 10.6, 10.7 and 10.8, and you can use those to get which percentage those are of the total mac market share. Of course, this relies on kicking out anything pre 10.6 but that's really not a big deal.
So according to that, those 3 OS versions make up 6.5% of the market. 10.8 is 46% of that, 10.7 is 27% and 10.6 is 27%. Every version of Linux and all pre 10.6 versions of OSX are clumped in 2.14 percent of the market which I think can be considered irrelevant, since I think more of that is versions of Linux than OSX.

Wow. I am blind as shit.

I'd imagine iOS 5 consists mostly of original iPads, and people with the 3GS and iPod Touch 4 who don't want to go to iOS 6 for fear of more performance issues.[/QUOTE]
I think that the amount of people updating to ios 7 will be smaller
I am the 6%
Are there any Mac pro users here? And if so, are you guys annoyed that Apple hasn't updated it to the socket 2011 CPUs and that it only comes a Radeon HD 5870?

But there's a new one coming end this year anyway.
[QUOTE=AzzyMaster;41138181]I think that the amount of people updating to ios 7 will be smaller[/QUOTE]
Well obviously, every fourth gen iPod owner and 3GS user won't get iOS 7, but it'll still probably end up with 90% adoption by the time they release a 7.1 or whatever.

I think a lot of people might be scared off by the new UI.
[QUOTE=AzzyMaster;41140535]I think a lot of people might be scared off by the new UI.[/QUOTE]
Well the layout of it is not radically different, it's mostly just a streamlining of the apps. It's not like it's a completely new experience.
[QUOTE=AzzyMaster;41140535]I think a lot of people might be scared off by the new UI.[/QUOTE]
I really doubt that. The layout is still the same. The only type of person iOS 7 will scare is the kind of person who was frightened by the addition of the notification center because it involved a new gesture and they were so used to popup notifications that they just couldn't handle the change.

reason i didn't update
really didn't like the white phone client and i see no actual reason to upgrade, it just makes my phone slower.

Which phone? I really doubt it'll make any of the A5 devices slower in its final state, so really only the iPhone 4 might have issues.

You don't get iOS 7.

Don't ask me how but for some reason, there's suddenly almost 80 gigs of backups on my MBA's drive. How do I get rid of this?
[editline]23rd June 2013[/editline]
Never mind. Turning off time machine and turning it on again fixed it. Combined with a quick terminal command to stop making local backups.

Time machine is amazing but yea local backups are bad and should not be done
Hey guys, for reasons beyond my power I "must" acquire a MacBook Pro. Now I'm not gonna tell you to do all the research for me, but I can't read 36 pages of discussion right now. I know what I need, and being that the 15" retina Pros have a whooping ~800$ price diference from the 13" retinas over here, they're completely out of the question.
I'm mostly gonna do photo and video editing and modeling, and I know the 13"r can barely cut it, so if possible, I'd like to wait for the Haswell upgrade. But how long would I need to wait for that? Nobody knows for sure, but are there any estimates?
It would probably be in a couple of months (based on the last refresh being 4 months ago, and the refresh before that was 6 months earlier).
But that's only speculation, it may happen next month, it may happen in September.
I can get a 2010 MacBook Pro 2.4ghz 4gb ram for around $250-300.
Is this a good price for a 3 year old MacBook or not?

Considering how well my dad's 2009 MBP still runs, get it. Maybe throw some extra RAM in there, maybe an SSD.
anyone in glasgow, scotland - john lewis buchanan galleries have a retina 15" for £1350 and a 13" cMBP for £750
[editline]24th June 2013[/editline]
in box, think they're returns/repairs. backed by the john lewis warranty though (which is fucking brilliant)

i'd recommend you get a base 15", high res screen (maybe anti glare if you want it, i'd recommend it for photo/video and modelling) and bump the RAM up to 16GB after market.

It looks nice, I can see many people getting upset about the lack internal expandability.
Does anyone have the IPSWs for iOS 7 beta II or a link to it?
I updated directly on my phone.
You still don't need to have a UDID registered phone for the beta 2.

Nobody with an iPad can do an OTA unfortunately.
[editline]24th June 2013[/editline]
imzdl is taking like a million friggin years to get mirrors up.

Trust it or not, TPB should probably have a few up by tonight.
The imzdl torrent is going now. When I tried earlier it had no seeds. Thanks for reminding me.
[editline]24th June 2013[/editline]
I'll seed this thing like 100:1 because god knows nobody else is going to.
[editline]24th June 2013[/editline]
Yeah it's not constant 60fps but I'm not going back to iOS 6.
Probably gonna cut my losses and jump on the iOS 7 train with my iPad 2 as well - iOS 6 probably wasn't in line to receive a jailbreak soon, anyway.
