waze is the best
My only complaint about Google maps is the gesture for doing a view on an angle. You pull down with two fingers, which is the opposite of the more sensible up with two fingers from Apple's maps that makes more sense in the context of a touch device. But y'kno, Google has never understood how to do good human interface design that actually feels like it was made for a touchscreen, so I'm never surprised by that sort of thing.
So I mean to use my OSX machine more, I haven't really used it at all since setting it up, but as its so tiny I can take it to Uni, which I can't with my massive rig. I know needs differ, but what are some really useful/essential apps etc that you'd really recommend for a positive OSX experience?
An Aero Snap clone of your choice - I've used Hyperdock and BetterSnapTool on two different installations, and there's no difference to perceive.

Those are the first things I install after a format. anyone know if there's going to be a way to stop app nap for certain programs in mavericks? I'm worried I can't render in inal it while its minimized in mavericks. Also, does anyone know of a lightweight browser like chrome, that has Adblock plus, but is 64bit? I'm tired of grime freaking out and making the whole Mac come to a grinding halt because of flash. Freaking flash.
Thanks for that. This is a very long shot, but I use windows live for my domain EMail, as google apps is no longer free, and outlook.com is streets ahead of any other hosted solutions. I use EAS, and it works perfectly with my Android, Windows 8 mail app, and Outlook 2013 so I really don't want to move away from it, however there doesn't seem to be any way to sync my outlook.com account with mail/calendar etc. I've tried Postbox, but that doesn't help. Any suggestions?
Community reference?
No :( I just want to sync my stuff.
No :( I just want to sync my stuff.
I was talking about when you said streets ahead

Postbox for mail, it costs $9 for a licence but it's worth it. Chrome, obviously. Evernote for note taking, might be quite useful for you at Uni. Microsoft Office for word processing and stuff. Puush for screenshots, etc. Spotify for music. If you're into downloading YT videos for offline viewing (for when you don't have internet, etc) then ClipGrab.
Postbox for mail, it costs $9 for a licence but it's worth it.
As mentioned above, postbox doesn't work with my email. I tried it with my IMAP work email, and it's great but sadly outlook.com doesn't support it.

What are the most essential Cydia tweaks/apps to get right now?
What are the most essential Cydia tweaks/apps to get right now?
Springtomize, Auxo and BiteSMS are the main ones I use. I also like PushTone to change the push message sounds and Nitrous to speed up browsing in 3rd party apps.
I fucking love NCsettings [editline]10th August 2013[/editline] or batterydoctorpro, but NCsettings looks nice even if it does less
Zephyr too.
So I'm having a go at streaming a blu-ray over my home wifi network and while the video is coming through just fine, the audio kind of hiccups. It keeps cutting out for about half a second every 5 seconds or so. Anybody have anything that can help?
What's the best Virtualization Software for Mac? I've heard really good things about Oh hey, 2,600th post
What's the best Virtualization Software for Mac? I've heard really good things about Oh hey, 2,600th post
The Mac edition of VMWare, forgot what it's called.
The Mac edition of VMWare, forgot what it's called.
VMWare Fusion?
VMWare Fusion?
Yup, that'd be the one. I use it and it works quite well.
What's the best Virtualization Software for Mac? I've heard really good things about Oh hey, 2,600th post
Parallels?
Parallels?
Yeah, I just realized that I didn't finish my post :downs: Is there any difference between the two? Parallels and VMWare fusion
Yeah, I just realized that I didn't finish my post :downs: Is there any difference between the two? Parallels and VMWare fusion
Yes. Not sure performance wise which one is the best, but I've done gaming through Parallels and it worked great
Right, our my old router died so I got a new Airport Extreme but it seems to suffer from pretty bad WiFi range, even worse than the old one. Sitting right next to the router seems to give a signal strength of around 75% is that normal or is there something wrong with this router?
http://vimeo.com/71594216 Kinda hilarious, I must admit :D
http://vimeo.com/71594216 Kinda hilarious, I must admit :D
Makes a lot of sense to me.

Change that in the Airport Utility. If that doesn't fix it, it's probably bad... Luckily, you've got a year's Applecare for it, so you can just head to the store and swap it out.
