The refurb store in Canada hasn't ever had the new Airs. I wouldn't buy the old ones refurb'd for the prices they're at, the new one is worth the extra cash. I mean, on a forum I visit people were doing price matches and coupons to a retailer here to get the 2012 11" mba for $650, I'd buy it at that price, but at $750 on the refurb store for a 2012 model I feel like it'd be worth shelling out the $250 for the new one with the battery life and double storage.
Also I'd have to agree with codenamecueball. 1366x768 sucks, and in the Anandtech review of the 11" the writer really hammered in how much nicer the 1440x900 display on the 13" is being both higher resolution and 16:10.
I have an old iMac G5 (Power Mac 8.2) running OS X 10.4.11 (Tiger). It's in perfect running condition, 2GB ram, 1.8GHz, thinking of selling it for $100 on craigslist. I don't know anything about Macs though so I can't figure out how to do a factory reset, either completely format the HDD or a clean install (I don't have a CD). I'm also wondering if I should upgrade it to Leopard once i do the reset, or will it be too slow. Can anyone help me figure out how to do it? I tried the command+r and the command+s and the option trick on startup but I can't figure it out. It doesn't have Recovery HD I think.
If you install leopard it should still be pretty speedy.

you need a dvd and sell the fuck out of it
3 year old mac with a 6 year old processor, annoying as fuck. Can't afford another mac or a PC. :(
you need a dvd and sell the fuck out of it
Say I acquire the installation files, do I just put them on a dvd and put it in the Mac? Is it as simple as that to do a complete wipe?

Boot from the install disk and run Disk Utility. You can wipe the drive from there then install OS X normally.
So analysts are guessing the "5c" will cost around 300-400 dollars.
300 euro smartphones are around 15-25 euros a month on contract here.
400 euro smartphones are around 40 (sadly).
I'll be pretty fucking psyched if the lower price area turns out be true.

Whoa. New design.
Perhaps somebody can help me out here because I'm stumped.
We got a free internet upgrade today, one that my dad gets full speed on with his 2009 MBP, somewhere around 145/15. The confusing part is that my 2013 MBA manages 23/13 on the exact same connection.
What the dicks is going on here?
Okay, being 2 floors up and on the other side of the house won't help, I know but I'm getting 10 percent of the download speed I should be getting!

Beautiful.
Fuck my iPhone 5's lockbutton broke for the second time.
I guess I have to bring it to an Apple store.. Will I have to restore it before going there because of my jailbreak?
After my 1year warranty is over, would I have to pay for a repair?

Yes and yes. They won't service a jailbroken device(and would probably put a case note saying the warranty for your serial is void) or one running the iOS 7 beta.
my mac is in HINCKLEY, LE GB

There's new Airs but that's it. If we're talking Pro's, people are guessing October.
Sept-October most likely.

Anyone done this? I'm just curious about the quality of the replacement back panel they use compared to the original. I love my 4s but my back panel is starting to get some deep scratches so I might have to replace it soon, not sure whether to go with an OEM replacement or something a little fun.

Also, I have a rMBP 15" and need a second charger. What's my cheapest option? I think I might just use an older charger with an adapter for mobile use and keep my 85w MS2 at home
I'm sure there was a news article about that light my iphone thing. It drains battery a lot and you have to do some soldering to get it working, which in the end you might end up breaking the phone
My friend has an iPhone 4s, and it's being weird, when it runs out of battery it never turns back on, it shows the "connect to iTunes" thing and then it can't be restored, it just keeps spewing out random errors like 1611, 1601 and error 21, and its driving her insane, any ideas FP?
put it into DFU and restore.

or apple store

It doesn't restore in DFU mode
A third party changed the battery so I think there is no warranty, and the nearest Apple store is a train journey away

It doesn't require any sort of soldering whatsoever and I somehow doubt that a small little light strip drains the battery
It doesn't require any sort of soldering whatsoever and I somehow doubt that a small little light strip drains the battery
Well, it won't improve battery life.
It doesn't require any sort of soldering whatsoever and I somehow doubt that a small little light strip drains the battery
Well, you see, there's this little thing called the First Law of Thermodynamics, which states in a very roundabout way, that to emit light, something has to expend energy.
Where does that energy come from? The battery. Ergo, to emit light, it must drain the battery.

The argument was over whether it drains the battery "a lot", which it obviously doesn't. The whole being a smart ass thing is cute though
Actually with the iPhone's battery being in the realm of 1300-1400mAh you'd be surprised how much a constant LED can cut into battery life. Keep the flash on as a flashlight for half an hour and you'll see the same sort of scenario.
Isn't keeping the light on really bad though?

The power of the LED on the flashlight/flash is far higher than the ones they use in tiny light strips. You can't compare the two and I wouldn't exactly trust the judgement of someone who claims you have to solder it on, that's why I'm asking if anyone has first hand experience. This is all speculation
