wait what's this about ios7 users having to reset their devices when the update hits? I'm using ios 7 on my ipad 2 right now, I hit shift and clicked update and installed it that way. Can't I just update it through the software update on my iPad?

You download it through software update when it is officially released to consumers.

AAPL's going to get absolutely lashed no matter what - I'm guessing institutional investors (and the lively little sparks behind them) make up the majority of ownership now.
