I bought this Macbook second hand and it was missing a key so i took it to the apple store, the guy said he couldn't find a replacement key, but he noticed there were cracks on the body. He said they could replace everything for free under some program. Has anyone else heard of this?

Who knows you might get a newer model :v:

So my Mom said I could get a new computer soon, thinking of getting a mac mini, because I video edit a lot, and adding FCPX to my collection of programs can only mean good things. Also the games I play a lot (Binding of Isaac, Portal 2, Minecraft, TF2, The Sims 3, and GMod) Are on it, plus for games that aren't I plan on installing Win 7 anyway. I guess it's time to sit here and wait for the boxes.

Well, you're screwed on a lot of those games. I know TF2 really does need some form of dedicated graphics. And it can't hurt if you do a lot of video editing, since that's really GPU-intensive.
It has the Intel HD 4000. Passable, but it'll be outdated very quickly if he wants to game on it in the future.
It has the Intel HD 4000. Passable, but it'll be outdated very quickly if he wants to game on it in the future.
It's already outdated... Intel Integrated chips are literally one step up from having no GPU at all. If I were you, Myst, I'd find yourself an iMac from a year or two ago, because those at least have dedicated graphics cards. Keep in mind that Macs aren't exactly built for gaming, though, so if that's your primary goal, you might have better luck elsewhere/price out a better build on Apple's website.
I have a GMA now so it's an improvement. Really underrated actually, Or I just got used to playing games at 10fps.
must you get a mac mini? is it because of a budget constraint? with the games you will be playing, you will really benefit having a dedicated gpu instead of the hd4000.
I don't know much about Hackintosh, but I suppose it would be worth considering on a low budget?
On a scale of 1-10, how good is this article at the 13 inch MBP vs 13 inch MBA question? http://news.cnet.com/8301-13579_3-57458148-37/13-inch-macbook-air-vs-13-inch-macbook-pro-which-should-you-buy/

Don't know if that's the right place, but my iPhone 3GS has a very weird issue. When I plug it in to recharge it (not plugged into my PC, directly to the wallsocket), the battery bar does not move at all, and the iPhone doesn't even seem to realize it's being recharged, though the battery is still getting powered up (it was at 10% twelve hours ago and it still hasn't shut down). And it's not recognized by my pc either. [editline]nvm[/editline] Well nevermind, my cable wasn't functioning anymore (though it has no visible damage whatsoever) so I replaced it with an older cable I have.

And he doesn't make any sense in the "Obsolete" part. Anyway, just look up reviews of either laptop on various sites - chances are you'll get a much more complete look on the two, and you'll be able to make the decision yourself. In general avoid "what should I get articles", in my experience they're usually shit.
What websites are good ideas?
What websites are good ideas?
Well, they're both not new laptop models, so in this case I'll recommend Anandtech or Notebookcheck.net, they're both great when it comes to reviews. TheVerge or Engadget if you're a bit more casual.

And it's fine for what I want to do, have a faster computer thenI currently have, play SOME games on medium with decent fps, and run 2 monitors.
Question, internet is being particularly sluggish on my Late 2006 (i think) model iMac... Never had these problems before? I'm talking generally slow uplink, intermittent connection loss etc. Every other appliance in the house works fine, at consistently high-ish speeds. There doesn't seem to be any wireless interference between the router and the iMac soo... Does anyone have any suggestions? Can I replace the AirPort?
Is there a way to just drag-drop stuff from my library in iTunes to my iPod and have it instantly on there without having to sync EVERYHING that's on there? Syncing 2000 songs every time I add an album doesn't make any sense at all. If I do manual sync, the songs are all greyed out. Why does Apple, or every software/hardware developer, insist on simplifying everything to the point of being inane. Back with my 2nd gen iTouch I'd literally press add folder to library, drag/drop, and be done with it. Now, I had to enable to option to even add an entire folder to my library, and dragging and dropping stuff takes 10 minutes at a time. Gen 4 with the latest version of iTunes if it matters

Got my airplay stuff.. probably gonna attempt it over the weekend! http://garry.tv/2013/03/27/airplay-to-room/
The Lepai is a quality amp, looks like you got the right equipment for what you want.
It has the Intel HD 4000. Passable, but it'll be outdated very quickly if he wants to game on it in the future.
True. The new haswell gpu's should be fine though.

Well then he'll have to wait for Apple to start selling Haswell machines. That's pretty impressive though.
My iPad Mini volume buttons are feeling stiff and sticky. Going to Apple to see if they'll replace it. This honestly makes me want to just stop buying Apple products. Buy iPad 2, works great. Sell for $150 more than I paid. Buy iPad 3 64GB. Develops dust under the display and needs to be replaced. Replacement iPad 3 64GB. Becomes possessed by a demon and begins to do things on its own. Second replacement iPad 3. Sold before it could cause some issue. Bought iPad Mini 16GB LTE. Develops a strange display glitch and is replaced. iPad Mini replacement. Develops sticky volume buttons and may or may not be replaced. This is not the timeline of products that "just work". Why me?
