I went back to 6.1.3 on my mini and after using the beta for so long I had forgotten how much better this runs. I don't know if I should upgrade in a week when the final releases or wait. The GM wasn't near as smooth as this is. I hope Apple puts out a 7.1 with performance boosts or something, this old design feels really gross now.
Should've expected Apple to have jumped into the aftermarket case ring earlier - people heading straight for an Apple case must plump up their margins by a pleasing amount.
They made the bumper...

I haven't been having too many problems on my 4, and I'm pretty sure Apple will be in overdrive to fix the remaining bugs by release.

They're just lagging behind with the tablets. [editline]11th September 2013[/editline] Also the iOS 7 music app for tablets is terrible, it's just as bad of an offender of being a blown up phone app as anything on Android and Apple should feel terrible and make it like the old one which was honestly a very good tablet app.
So, I've been thinking about switching to an iPad Mini as my primary iOS device as opposed to my ShitPod Touch 4G. Are the minis on iOS 7 right now better then the 4G on iOS 6, or should I wait for an update?

As a man who reads all of his textbooks on his mini, the fonts look fine.
You must be really picky because the fonts look completely fine on my Mini.
You must be really picky because the fonts look completely fine on my Mini.
Compare the status bar text or the icon labels to iOS 6. The single stroke fonts are designed for retina displays, they don't render well on the iPad 2 or Mini, it's not being picky it's a fact that a device without SPR at XGA resolution will render single pixel wide fonts poorly. Helvetica neue light doesn't render well on computers either, even at WQHD it's simply not a font made for digital use on a traditional density display. I really doubt it.
I'm not sure why they kept the passwords if they introduced a fingerprint scanner. Why not just offer "Fingerprint Lock"?
It would suck to get a cut on for example your thumb and be unable to access everything on your phone. (if you only scan in your thumb of course)

If there's ever been a font resembling the iOS 7 system font, that definitely isn't it. That doesn't even look like an iOS 7 screenshot, the status bar font is really thick, and I'd imagine thats iOS 6. How does some textbook in a relatively thick font and the old Helvetica UI reflect how the mini renders the system fonts in iOS 7?
I said make of it what you will, I wasn't asking for an opinion.
So I was wondering, the iPod classic in the UK at least is gimped and really quiet, is there any way to restore it but download the american firmware so it's louder?
It would suck to get a cut on for example your thumb and be unable to access everything on your phone. (if you only scan in your thumb of course)
it can still read even with a cut, unless you literally like tear your thumb off plasters might get in the way
£20? i'll fucking take it you don't want. the volume is always ok for me.
I'm taking it anyway, purely for the low price, and my iPod touch 3g is on its last legs I just want to know if I can fix the volume problem, because some ninny decided we need our volume limits lowered in case we damage our ears
could you do a carbon copy clone?
i second this, i use it at work and its great.
buy decent headphones, i'm sure it's not that bad
It's not the headphone listening that's the problem, it's when I plug it in to an external speaker and you can barely hear it compared to an iPod touch full volume on the classic is about just over half on an iPod touch, and I'm constantly using portable speakers so it matters to me Still, enough bitching about volume, I'm gonna get it because iPod classic for cheap
I am getting sick and tired of people going "Wow apple where's the bigger screen?" Why do we need bigger screens, the screen size at the moment is fine, it's a comfortable size.

Hardware-based volume control is a great thing. http://tangentsoft.net/audio/cmoy-tutorial/

Does iOS 7 work well on the iPod Touch 5G? My mom is thinking about getting one and switching with me because all she wants to do is listen to music.
Does iOS 7 work well on the iPod Touch 5G? My mom is thinking about getting one and switching with me because all she wants to do is listen to music.
Yes. The A5 based phones run very well, and the iPod Touch 5 is just an amalgamation of the iPhone 4/4S/5 but it's most closely related to the 4S where its important so it should be great. I honestly miss my touch 5, even if I have no use for it now. It was just...a really nice device.
I tried an iPod touch 5g out in a shop today, one of them was perfect, and the other one was laggy as fuck, even the slide to unlock was jittering, I cleared out the multi-tasking and it still happened weird that it was on display like that
Okay, there's an OSX update out that's supposed to improve file transfers over 802.11ac wi-fi. Time to check that shit tomorrow.
I hope iOS 7 fixes my phones battery life I had 6.1.3 and everything was fine, then 1.4 came out and my phone just started dying rapidly. Also really excited for the quick menu like on Androids, I've always wanted a bar like that and I was actually going to buy an S4 cause of it.
