It's not automatic, you have to go into the Settings app to either search for the update or accept it after you receive the notification.
Is there a way to stop iOS7 upgrading all together? I really do not want to explain to my parents how things work in the update.
It's worth it though, my mum likes it a bunch more.
really regret updating on my iphone 4
should've just stayed with ios 6
iOS7 has a 26% adoption rate just a half day after its release.
Thats pretty impressive
okay what the hell
I have ios 7 beta 6, I'm getting no notification of an update
okay what the hell

The last beta I installed was 5 and I haven't gotten OTA updates since then. Pretty sure it just automagically downloaded that shit.
there's no ota update for the beta to the final release, you have to update through itunes
So the HDD in my Mac Mini (early 2009 model) has picked today to pretty much pack it in, going to swap it out with a WD 500GB drive that's quite a bit faster.
It's on borrowed time at this point though, planning on getting a rMBP, at which point the mini will be relegated to a server role.
So now that iOS7 is out, 4S probably still worth the money?
Anyone noticed a major decrease in battery life since updating?

Nope, it's EOL next year. Just get a 5S or 5C.
I don't have to upgrade from iOS 7 GM to the public release right?

If it'll run anything like my 3g iPod Touch with 4 year old hardware that went EOL last year, I'm good.

yeah, it's the exact same version

My battery life has been pretty bad today, but I installed the update while the phone was charging so I'm not sure if it's because of that or the update.
Using iOS7 on a 4S - runs smooth so far.
Don't buy 4s, those have a little over two years left in them. Buy a 5S or 5C.
So apart from it not lasting very long anymore (I'm only going to use it for a year and then upgrade this time 2014) is there any outstanding reason to not get the iPhone 4s
Anyone noticed a major decrease in battery life since updating?
I tried dynamic wallpapers and my battery life was basically cut in half, without them it seems to be about the same (on my 5).
Holy FUCK iOS7 is horrible on my mums iPhone 4
And I really don't like how there is no unlock noise now, just a weird echoey lock noise
iOS 7 runs great on my 4S, my battery life drastically improved.

Mine is the same.

It runs fine on my dad's iPhone 4.
Can't wait for an iOS7 jailbreak so I can make it not look like shit again, other than that it's pretty good.

It's horribly laggy on my mums phone, and when you lock it it takes a few seconds for it to unlock when you press the home button
It helps to close all the multitasking apps.
huh
My dad's phone hasn't had any issue since he updated it . My iPad Mini had issues but a reinstall fixed it.

If you're planning to upgrade in a year, and the phone's free, I'd go for it. If it isn't free, though, I'd spend the extra to get one of the newer ones.

It'd be a straight trade from my S3 to a 4S, they're about the same price, perhaps the S3 being a bit more
This is why upgrading to iOS Sieben was worth it for me.

I found a bug
If you have different lockscreen and homescreen wallpapers, when you slide to unlock it, immediately grab the screen again and drag it back as if you were undoing the sliding action, your lockscreen wallpaper changes to your homescreen wallpaper

Why? Because Lemaitre is fucking awesome, that's why.
She Comes In Colors! There's no one like Apple if you're looking for gaze-ten-years-into-the-future-my-son continuity.
