Anyone know the return policy on Apple computers? The associate at the store told me 30 days, but my receipt says 14. I'd return it regardless of what they say.

Hd4000 sucks if the Mbp is a retina, my current loaner 13" tends to lag on webpages...
I don't know why, but I feel like I should have gone for the i7 upgrade on the Haswell 13" I ordered. I know it isn't very cost effective compared to the jump from the base i5 to the upgraded i5. 8% performance for $200 just doesn't seem right, but I have this nagging feeling.

I'm probably just being stupid. The laptop will be more than enough for any engineering coursework and if I really need speed I'll log into one of my school's remote workstations.
Brian Klug says the Haswell 13" and 15" both run very well, much better than his first gen rMBP.
Double check if there are any .download files in that directory, that might be messing it up.
That and a reboot worked. Thanks

The receipt is on paper, that's probably what they'll go by if you try to return after that period.

I'll sell you mine for $10, that's about all it's worth.
have you had a look at ebay for what people sell them for? :v:
[editline]25th October 2013[/editline]
And I can buy this locally from some people down the street tomorrow.
I just want to hook it up to my TV and just use it for movies and stuff.

Spoke to the store manager and he wrote on the back of his business card that I have a one week extension until the 1st, along with my current Mbp's serial#. While it isn't a big thing, it is very nice that he was able to help me out.
I've never had any issues returning something 30 days in... In fact, that's what I did with Apple TV to decide if I liked it. Bought one, used it for a month, decided it wasn't something I needed, and took it back.
Return policies are meant to be used, after all.

Oh jesus, is that really what they want for them? Yeah then the $45 one is a good deal. I'm not sure about how well it'll play movies though. Mine would struggle to play back a DVD and browse the web at the same time. I wouldn't do it if you have a 1080p TV.
Dad just got home and brought my new iPod with him.
Dear God, this thing is pretty and smooth.
Gonna need some help with this. I just got a Apple TV 2 from someone who is going to America for some time. I only want to use it to watch Netflix on it but i don't see it anywhere.
Its jailbroken as well with XMBC and several other tweaks.
So basically, how do i get Netflix on it? It doesn't show up in the Internet menu.
i've changed my mind on the air. to a late 2013 rMBP.
taking a trip to get it later next week, opting for the 13" 2.4GHz model. can't wait

Alright so the person said i can update it to version 6. However when i want to update it says it can't update at the moment and doing a reset of the settings also freezes the thing. Ideas?
Got my Air! It's pretty tight. I'm a longtime windows user so this is gonna take a while to adjust.

First thing you should do, go under trackpad settings and customize it to your likings.
Is anyone having issues with WiFi not reconnecting to access points after going to sleep then waking the computer up?
You guys think I could use a G4 cube as an HTPC? My grandfather's got one he offered to give me. Hardon Kardon speakers, original monitor, puck mouse... Everything.

PowerPC is gonna make it difficult
I got home with the Mac Mini G4 I posted earlier about. It seems to be fine so far except that it doesn't want to work with any of my DVI to HDMI adapters so I'm just using it with my spare 21" monitor for now.
As for video it didn't have too much trouble playing a HD episode of Bob's Burger at 1080p. If you give it time to load it'll be fine, I let it sit for about two or three minutes and it was ok from there. You just need to be patient with it :v:

The disc drive is also loud as hell but for being 7 years old I guess it isn't too bad.

I thought Plex or something had a PowerPC version. Maybe XBMC?

macbook pro, classic, like 2 months old. every fucking time. once i do connect, it drops out a lot (eduroam) or doesn't seek at all (keysurf/eduroam)
it's ONLY with APs not home routers.

Mine is not reconnecting after I close the lid and reopen it. I have to go up to the Wi-Fi and click on my AP to reconnect.

Plex does have a PPC version, they still ship as Universal from what I've heard.
[editline]26th October 2013[/editline]
Also, Plex is really the best, I've had nothing but good times with it.
[editline]26th October 2013[/editline]
AND I'd suggest trying out Safari again in 10.9, it's much faster than Chrome and the OS integration is to die for.

Eduroam is really horrible IMHO, i think it's something with it, not with your macbook. I've had lots of problems on other OSes too (Ubuntu/Windows7/Windows8).

Eduroam has always sucked ass for me for some reason, especially around the more important areas (for our programme) of our campus.

Would you reccomend me upgrading from my 4 to 5c? im not sure what I should do yet o_o
Would you reccomend me upgrading from my 4 to 5c? im not sure what I should do yet o_o
How much would it end up costing you? I know retailers in the states have had the 5C at like $0 after rebates and whatever, which is definitely a significant decrease from the 5s at $200 and so if price is a concern it's a very good option. You also might want to ask yourself if you're happy with iOS or if it feels too limiting for you, and I'd recommend going to a store to try a 5c to see how you like it.
[editline]26th October 2013[/editline]
Also just for anyone who's debating buying one, I got the blue leather 5/5s case and I like it a lot. I was afraid it'd be similar to the old smart case but it looks like Apple has gotten their act together and made a very well fitting and premium feeling case. It's no otterbox though, so if you're a construction worker don't buy it. Also it's expensive, and I only got it because something deep down is telling me that someday I'm going to drop this phone and I'll be grateful I had the case on.
Does anyone know why my Mac Mini won't do DVI to HDMI? It works with my DVI to VGA cable and my normal DVI cable.
I know my DVI to HDMI adapter works since I've been using it with my PS3 for weeks with no issue.
Alright so the person said i can update it to version 6. However when i want to update it says it can't update at the moment and doing a reset of the settings also freezes the thing. Ideas?
Check the parental controls under Settings>General>Parental Controls to see if they just hid it. NitoTV might be able to hide stuff too, so check those settings too.
You can also use a micro USB cable to hook it up to a computer and wipe it with iTunes. This will take the jailbreak with it, but if you don't care about ever getting that back (I know the OS update from June has a tethered jailbreak, but there have been updates since then, sooooo).

might be a stupid question, but is the port DVI-A?
Okay, anyone got a fix for this? There's a few albums that look like this in cover flow:

But when playing songs, the cover art shows just fine.
