Ehh, it basically looks like an Ive product already? It's pretty nice looking, in my opinion.

As it stands, the Apple TV looks fine. It's essentially a black Mac Mini (also something that never ceases to attract attention to first-time visitors), I don't see any sort of design issues or anything that would call for a change.
Oh, sorry. Wasn't talking about the box itself. I was talking about the bastardization of iOS it runs.
Finally figured out that Vmware Fusion was changing the dpi settings in my W8.1 vm. After forcing everything to make me blind 1600p I don't regret my new Mbp at all. Unity mode is almost like using the applications natively, except for the occasional stutter.
Apple TV needs a fucking appstore already
At least just let me browse and play files from network shares without having to jailbreak.
I know it'll never happen, but whatever.
Do you think the next Macbooks will have finger scanners similar to the iPhone 5s?
no
typing in a familiar password is quicker when you have a fully fledged keyboard at your fingertips
You say that, but I typo'd my password three times this morning...

So I'm picking up an iPad Air today, and I'm wondering what I should know beforehand. I can get $175 for my Mini, so that eases the pain of buying one straight-out.
Suggestions?
I recommend checking this out: http://www.knocktounlock.com
Im using it with my iPhone 5 and my Air and it works amazingly. Basically you download the apps on your Mac and your iPhone and pair them, then when your mac is locked you can "Knock" twice on your phone and it will unlock your Mac. I have been using it for a couple of hours now and have found no bugs to speak of.
Ah, I've got a Late 2011 MBP. That's unfortunate.
I know it mentions iPhone but since it requires Bluetooth 4.0, doesn't that mean it'd also work with a 5th gen iPod Touch?
what is the best RSS reader on iPhone? News app? That $5 "Reader 2" app always looked good but I never bought it because it cost money
Reeder 1 should be free and is okay. I started using Feedly after Google Reader was murdered and haven't looked back.

I would imagine that it should work as long as it has Bluetooth 4.0 LE.
I've realized something about the iPad Air.
The saturation curves are all over the place. Seriously, the blues and yellows are maxed out, and it actually makes me kind of uncomfortable. Facepunch goes full neon, with the blues and yellows. Greens and reds aren't as bad.
Anybody know what could be causing this? Is it just Apple not calibrating it properly? Did my backup bring the saturation curves over from the Mini? Is it a defective unit? Is it just me?
Someone help me out here. I'm getting kind of worried.

Either your panel is defective or you're just not used to a full sRGB display.

MYbe that's it... The facepunch neon paradise is weird, though.
How do you think I feel when I browse FP on my "oh my god who just threw a color bomb" Galaxy Note 2? Movie mode is too unsaturated for my tastes but Dynamic is just an explosion of (shittily calibrated) colors.
You wonder why photo pros use Macs... well, sRGB calibration is why.

Movie mode on Samsung phones is still too high above sRGB.
Was waiting for Nimblebit to release their Star Wars version of Tiny Tower.
Now it's out but they don't support 5th gen iPod Touch. Thanks.
Seems they've changed it. I can download it through the App Store.
Quick question. I'm about to sell my iPad tomorrow and it's jailbroken. Before restoring, do I have to change the root and mobile passwords back to their standard value? Or does it happen automatically through the restore?
happens automatically
Okay, thanks!
Maybe someone can help here, this is annoying the shit out of me.
Every time I hook up my Touch to my desktop, it says it needs authorization for items purchased on the app store. I authorize, enter Apple ID and password and it asks for it again, it keeps looping.
Have you got the latest version of iTunes and iOS?
Have you got the latest version of iTunes and iOS?
Latest version of both.
Got bored of the distorty iPod and decided to reset everything and replace every single file on the device using somebody elses computer, and now it seems to be fine without an EQ
yaaaay
A sudden turn of events have landed me with an iPhone 4S on Sprint. My only experience with iPhones was when I had a 3G for a period of time before it broke. I have been using Android for the past few years, but I never really customized it. I presume it will run iOS 7, so is there anything I need to know right off the bat?
Hopefully when I get some money I can upgrade to a 5/5S, but that won't be for a good while.
