Only thing I don't like about the 5 design is the bands at the top and bottom of the back. Also I've been using Reflector on Windows but it's a bit buggy with airplay videos, anyone know why or is it just a Windows thing?
I have an iPod Touch 4th gen that's been slowly losing home button functionality and just generally slowing down. Even after a restore, it's still not what it used to be. It's still under warranty, if I take it to an apple store and speak with a genius, would they simply replace it with another 4th gen and leave me stranded on ios 6, or would they upgrade me to a 5th gen?
It shouldn't be slowing down, hardware doesn't under perform with age. Is it jail broken, maybe try deleting some apps or closing apps down in background
I've factory reset it and it's generally sluggish. Maybe I just don't remember it well but I'd thought it should be performing more fluidly

They still have iPad 3s to give people, and I've seen retailers that somehow still have the iPod Touch 4 16GB so I think Apple still has a healthy amount or they still make them in small amounts. You might get lucky and get a 16GB fifth gen but it's nothing to bet on.
Also home buttons are awful because they do break and it's often enough that they can replace them in the store with the exception of the 5s. My Touch ID one already has a clicking issue and Brian Klug from Anandtech has it too. It doesn't help that they use a shallower button without a metal support bracket on everything but the iPhone.
My bro has a 4th gen and it doesn't slow down. It's slower than on iOS 4, but it hasn't slowed down as time has gone on after getting iOS 6, it just wasn't amazing to begin with on it.

Sorry if I'm wrong since I haven't used iOS devices seriously since iOS 4. But did you restore from a backup (or something like that)? I've heard of that causing issues. Maybe you should start over from a completely new slate.

friend has the same problem with his, it's annoying
[editline]19th November 2013[/editline]
it stays depressed when you press it in sometimes. it hasn't had anything spilled on it, it's just slightly broken somehow
News report, SA Spyder doesn't know how hardware works. Well done for disagreeing with a fact
thanks for posting about a rating
Your post was even more pointless...
Dear God, men! Do you see what you've done? YOU'VE CREATED A SPIRAL OF POINTLESSNESS!
I command you both to cease at once, lest this continue on forever, and we never discuss anything here again!
so about apple
I found a glitch with the lockscreen. If you flick the lockscreen but catch it right before it goes to your homescreen, it changes your lock background to your homescreen's.

Nice find. I usually find stuff like this but my lockscreen was the same as my home screen. Tested with different ones and it works. Hope you've submitted it to apple. To be honest I think there's a few little bugs with iOS 7, like if you rotate the screen with the keyboard open on the messaging app it's laggy, but perfectly fine without the keyboard open or in any other apps

Rotation with the keyboard up is so bad in a few different apps, even on my 5s. I'm glad someone else notices. They've definitely taken note of things though. On 7.1b1 rotation on my iPad 3 in the launcher is 60fps now, scrolling is better in apps, the multitasking drawer is much smoother, and the animation for using the four finger close in an app is altered so it doesn't end prematurely and then snap into place in a single frame.
That's good to know, hate seeing the frame rate drop or little graphical glitches. Are there any cool new features in 7.1 or are you not allowed to say? Also any users of the new tweetbot in here? I don't receive notifications when I receive a message and when I drag down the notification bar, my tweets scroll to the top, so I have to exit the app if I want to look at my notifications

I posted this right when iOS7 was released
I constantly do it on my mums phone when I'm waiting around in the kitchen where she leaves it, it's pretty fun :v:
[editline]20th November 2013[/editline]
I miss the glitch where if you grabbed the old slider, moved your finger up to the top and then dragged it down halfway across the slider, you could move it across without having your finger on it, really pointless but amusing for a minute or two
Someone spilled soda on my MacBook, now some of my keys on the right side are sticky. I know how to fix the normal keys, but does anyone have experience with the Nordic enter key?

I must suck because I can't manage to catch the thing before it flies off the screen.

I dunno it's easier on my mums phone because it's a 4 and slow as shit as a result, but you need to grab it just as the "slide to unlock" has gone
[editline]20th November 2013[/editline]
Also I just soldered a replacement headphone jack for my iPod touch 3g in (the original one died, and only played out of one ear unless you held it at an angle) and now my iPod is constantly thinking there are some earphones plugged in, it won't play out the speaker (not a huge loss) and it won't pause when I unplug my earphones (big issue for me)
it wasn't an OEM part though, so I guess I just need to cut my losses and thank that it at least works :v:

Either the little sensor switch in the headphone jack is defective or it doesn't have one.
Oh well. When I had my iPod Touch 2G, the internal speaker blew anus anyway because of how tinny and quiet it was. I don't think I would be heartbroken. :v:

Does anyone know if it's fixed in the newest updates? I'm on the original iOS 7 in case there is a jailbreak that doesn't support the newest ones.

is it the ISO enter key? (two rows high, one wide)

This, thing.. Anyways, managed to get it off - didn't clean it thoroughly though, so still a bit sticky. Any ideas? Rubbing alcohol or something or just bathe the keys and switches?

When I cleaned the keycaps of my keyboard, I took them all out, and bathed them in a little bucket, with a tiny amount of soap. After taking them out, rinse with clean water, and lay them on a cloth to dry for ~1-2 hours so it's completly dry.
Thats what I do.

I didn't know they had a sensor switch whatsit, I thought it just because the jack made a connection of some sort, and yeah the loss of the speaker isn't exactly making me weep :v: I just miss being able to unplug my earphones and have the music pause (last night I did this and woke up to find the battery dead because I forgot I needed to pause it and it had been playing overnight)

Can you jailbreak iOS 7 yet? Or is this shit fake?
[url]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTWaKmVqECo[/url]
[URL]http://jailbrea.kr/[/URL] says no.
That looks damn convincing though!
The download link is one of those survey wall sites. Fuck!
Wow, that's a really well put together video. How does one manage that sort of thing? Jump cuts?

I'm not sure. You can see when he's in settings on the 4S at the beginning that the menus are the old style in iOS 6. The back button is an actual button instead of the white and blue words only on ios7. Also, when he clicks the jailbreak button you can see the cord shift in the foreground of the video.
I'm not sure if it's fake or not, but I did notice those discrepancies.
