I remember portal 2 doing that when the rMBP first came out but I though valve had fixed it.
I kinda want an iPad mini to replace my iPod touch because I mainly use it around the house, but I don't want to look like the biggest butthole ever when I take it into a restaurant or something, albeit very rarely.
Just don't put the mini in your pocket because it will stick right out and you'll look like an utter tit.

Yea, you have to save your pocket space for your kindle.

Is that how you crush a kindle? I mean, they don't seem like the sturdiest of things, in my experience.
Also, Amazon finally figured out that sex sells. Good job.

Hey, the Zune was the best dedicated music player before the iPod Touch... Honestly, Microsoft Design did a spectacular job with it. The iPod Touch killed it because the iPod Touch had an app store... And also, probably, how Microsoft just gave up halfway through the thing's lifecycle.
They were a very, very sexy thing, though.
i keep very little in my pockets other than a cloth or keys. i would certainly never put my mini or nexus in my pockets, they'd be totaled
i just dump everything in to my handbag with a little felt cover or something like that

I made a snide comment an epoch ago about the Zune being "shit brown" - but of course I now regret not swimming in the UI's shades while they were still there; I could've used the fresh air.
Zune was good because it had better audio quality then iPod touch
I still have my original Zune 30GB somewhere around here. I liked it a lot.

The Zune HD was great because its hardware and UI were fucking sex.
Can't decide between a 13" air or 13" retina pro :/

What are you going to be using it for?
What are you going to be using it for?
College work, some photoshop design stuff, light gaming (civ v/minecraft)
Going by that it's obvious the Pro would be better however I like the size and weight of the air.

I'd probably go with the Pro because you can get more RAM and a faster processor. The weight difference isn't THAT (It's .22 kg more) much and size it's REALLY close the same size as the Air now.
I have an Air and it is really nice. Very portable and lightweight. Long battery. The screen isn't the most amazing thing (compared to the Pro) and I'll eventually wish I had 8GB of RAM instead of 4.
I'd wait for some other people's opinions before you go off and buy one.

Don't get paid till thursday anyway and still have the rest of christmas to worry about so I'm not gonna rush anything.
Get the Pro. My most strenuous uses are for EE and CS class projects, but just looking at it from a hardware perspective it is only a little heavier and a little pricier.
The screen is so worth the bump and the better specs don't hurt as well.

retina pro
13" air isn't worth it while is still has the old display tbh
plus you lose out on the GPU bump
So I lost my iPhone 30 pin cables, anyone know some good cheap replacements? I really don't care to spend $20 on a cable but more like $10.

Monoprice to the rescue, as nearly always:
http://www.monoprice.com/Category?c_id=112&cp_id=11213&cs_id=1083101 gives you a whole hamper of cables half your target price.
Just updated my macbook air to Maverick, damn it's not too bad.
Anyone remember me getting a free powermac G5 from work?
I've almost finished shoving an ATX gaming rig/hackintosh inside it. All that's left is soldering the front panel wires (hence the ones sticking out of the top)

are those blue LED's or is that just a weird reflection?
if it's the former, that looks great

I put a cold cathode inside it, still not sure about it yet. It looks nice from that angle, but you can see right through the case head on :v:

Try putting some aluminium mesh behind the front, it should hide the guts better.

I think no lights would look best.
I'm half inclined to ask you to experiment with a slow pulser: to see the thing slowly expose itself as it "exhales" - and then suck it all back in and at once close off - should be an order of magnitude more mesmerizing than Apple's more restrained status strips.
I think no lights would look best.
I dunno, I'm sort of digging the light (normally I would agree no lights is best).
I agree with Pepper that you should put a mesh on the front panel though. Might also make the light a bit more subtle.
Is the Mac pro cylinder out yet? I know a few people will be getting rid of the old tower when it does and I'm hoping to get a deal. I need a Mac to run smoke http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=15763520&linkID=9242618#section6
and I have to be able to put a Nvidia Quadro in it.

Not out yet. Nobody really knows when it'll be out, either. It's just sort of floating in development limbo somewhere in an American factory right now.
