I need an antivirus software. AKA What do you use and why? - Hardware & Software

Comodo is better than everything. Or well, MBAM is awesome too. My father had MSE, a virus passed by it, turned it off and installed fake MSE + some other shit. Safe mode, MBAM, gone. WOO!

Good lord this section has some ignorance going. Comodo's [B]~~**AV**~~[/B] is shit. That's what they're testing. That's what's worse than Norton, avast, AVG, etc. HIPS is part of the [B]FIREWALL[/B]. That's what's good. But we're not in a firewall thread, are we?

Is it normal to not have any viruses detected though?[/QUOTE] That's a sign of either a) your computer habits aren't incredibly bad (eg executing every random program) or b) avast totally fails at detection Since avast ranks up there in detection, I'm guessing its 'a'. But if you're paranoid you can download another anti-malware like MBAM/Panda/whatever and scan with those to see if avast missed anything. So in the end it depends on the user's habits.

I don't have any realtime antivirus. I scan with Malwarebytes (free version) on occasion, but I'm an experienced user, so I generally don't run into viruses.

On some pcs i use microsoft security essentials since its free (Pcs that i will reformat allot) Ones that i will never format, i use Trend micro During a scan itll only use up about 1.5MB of RAM. One bad point is that it blocks websites that could be dogey. Otherwise it provides excellent protection

The whole "common sense" deal is stupid and just an e-penis fight from people who know very little about security.
