The case design is nothing new, see Casemate Tough and I think Otterbox Commuter cases for what is the exact same thing, perhaps a bit bulkier, but I think it helps with actually holding onto the damn phone, seeing as how it's so thin. [editline]31st August 2011[/editline] That and in general I prefer it when phones avoid having any exposed silicone, it makes for a gigantic lint magnet.
It's only a frame. It goes around the edges of the silicone. Nothing like the case mate tough.
Is rooting my Wildfire worth it?
A post on xda.
Mind posting that link?
A question to you guys when you get a new phone how long should you leave it on charge ? I've heard its 12 hours
A question to you guys when you get a new phone how long should you leave it on charge ? I've heard its 12 hours
Not needed with Li-Ion batteries as far as i know and i doubt there is any Android device with other type of battery.
Anyone got any experience with SII cases?
I personally wouldn't use a case like that which turns my phone into a bigger and thicker brick than what it already is.
I personally wouldn't use a case like that which turns my phone into a bigger and thicker brick than what it already is.
The Galaxy SII is so thin it's almost uncomfortable. It's only 8 and a half millimeter thick.
I personally wouldn't use a case like that which turns my phone into a bigger and thicker brick than what it already is.
If you have a Galaxy S II then you'll know it can afford to be that little bit thicker. Its not really practical without a case for me. Aye. In fact I feel my S2 is too light which is partly why I want a case for it, beside the obvious protection of the phone itself.
I was wondering if someone could help me with rooting my HTC Evo Shift 4g I've been following This guide but I found that when I tried it, my HBOOT version was 0.98.0001, and I have no idea how to update it so that the guide I was looking at could work. Everything worked fine until I tried to run the revolutionary.exe and it told me my speedy version was incorrect or something. On fastboot, it says SPEEDY XE SHIP S-ON HBOOT-0.98.0001 RADIO-1.09.00.0506 eMMC-boot Apr 11 2011, 22:32:34
reposting this: (im on sprint btw) okay so I'm on sprint, I have a palm pre minus, and I probably will jump ship to android UNLESS somehow ios manages to get on sprint (unlikely) or a new hp webos phone comes to sprint (unlikely) so, I want a sprint android phone that is completely touchscreen (no physical keyboard), and basically the first day I get it (within the first week of owning it) I want to root it... I was looking at the evo4g (and I noticed that even if it's less than $30, it's too outdated) also, I DO NOT wanna buy the evo 3D. then there's the motorola photon, and the samsung galaxy s II seems to be what most of you like, but hell, I don't even know if it's on sprint or not, but my current phone's contract ends september 2012, so I have time for the phone to join sprint. well. any ideas on what phone I should get? thanks..

Buy that, it's very great. Named the "Epic 4G Touch" Also, iPhone 5 is rumored to come to Sprint, but that's irrelevant because the Galaxy SII is better.
okay thanks bud for the info sorry i stole your spotlight, superhoboman :p but sounds good manning. Hopefully the iphone 5 doesn't come to sprint before august 30 2012, I really want to look into these new android phones- and root them ;)
(august 30 is when mah contract ends)
So should i get a Galaxy S2 now that the Stats and shit came out for the US? Getting the AT&T Version by the way, I don't want to lose my unlimited Data stuff

[editline]31st August 2011[/editline] What you're looking for is this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=932153 Seems that you don't have a radio S-OFF exploit, so the only way is the more dangerous engineering bootloader method. FUCKING UP WHILE FLASHING THE BOOTLOADER WILL RESULT IN A PERMANENT BRICK, I CANNOT EMPHASIZE THIS ENOUGH. [editline]31st August 2011[/editline] Also your phone is unable to be permrooted if on Gingerbread. [editline]31st August 2011[/editline] Unfortunately it looks like there is no easy one-click method for you. [editline]31st August 2011[/editline] http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=976605 Maybe it does. Evidently this isn't a cut and dry deal.
Can't you get around the Gingerbread/permaroot problem by just flashing back to Froyo, rooting, then installing a custom rom of your choosing? I screwed up and updated my Droid X to Gingerbread before attempting to root it, and had to flash back to Froyo before I could do anything interesting.
Going for a job interview in about an hour, might hopefully soon be able to join the SGS2 club..
You all know about that patent infringement lawsuit and how Apple claimed Samsung products are too similar to theirs? Can't wait for them to get a taste of their own medicine. Just got back from the shop. Just bought a Samsung Galaxy S II :v:
there's enough S2 owners in here to form a gang already :v:

Samsung Galaxy S2, what's not to like
Wait what, "Samsung Galaxy S 2 epic 4G Touch" Really?
Samsung Galaxy Note S II Epic Droid Touch 4G 3D [editline]1st September 2011[/editline] Wait, if they're using memes, why not name it Samsung Awesome Galaxy S II 3D Touch Epic LOL 4G Droid
'How do we make this better?' 'Add more stuff to the name, just as much as you can fit on, maybe more' [editline]1st September 2011[/editline] maybe they just hate the guy who has to say the name of the phone at the end of adverts
Samsung Galaxy Note S II Epic Droid Touch 4G 3D [editline]1st September 2011[/editline] Wait, if they're using memes, why not name it Samsung Awesome Galaxy S II 3D Touch Epic LOL 4G Droid
And I thought Super AMOLED Plus was already going too far.. well shit.
It's just the Epic Touch 4G...which is retarded because everybody realizes it's got a touch screen, it's not 2007 and the first Epic 4G had a touch screen, so advertising it as having a touch screen is fucking stupid.
Oh shit, the Galaxy Note looks boss. 1.4GHz Dual-core, 1280x800 5.3" SAMOLED Plus, LTE/HDSPA+, Stylus input. I'm getting this as soon as it's available.
Too big to be a phone, too small for a tablet. No thanks
