Woo, my T-Mobile HD2 has working 3g on my carrier.
Meanwhile LTE is on Verizon, coming soon (and on a different channel, probably with shit backhaul) to AT&T, (we have no idea) coming soon to Sprint (But different frequency that has shit penetration!), and coming never to T-Mobile because they're entrenched in HSPA+. I love US carriers. [editline]2nd September 2011[/editline] Here's to hoping that AH-IPS is sole-sourced for all LCD based smartphone displays(or at least HTC/Motorola), Super AMOLED HD is RGB stripe, Krait, OMAP5, and Samsung's future SoC arch are all fast enough to emulate PS2 on Android, 720p becomes the new standard, Ice Cream Sandwich presents a compelling UI that doesn't require a ton of applications on top to equal HTC Sense, and is extremely light and zippy, and smartphones don't go past 4.5" territory. A man can dream.
Honestly if Krait is faster than A15 like Qualcomm claims then they may be on top for a while again. Also we sort of already have super AMOLED HD with the tab 7.7 and the 285ppi Galaxy note. But I assume you're referring to a more standard sized HD one within the 4-4.5 inch range..
Posting from galaxy tab 10.1!
Posting from galaxy tab 10.1!
What's it like coming from a Tab7. Would you give up the 10.1" for 7.7" in exchange for a SAMOLED+ panel? Or is the extra screen space worth it?

They've done a good job with this thing. Also for the first time a custom UI is good :v:

If Samsung has gotten a 1280x800 SAMOLED+ screen at 7.7 inches why can't they just make the pixels larger and bump up the size? I'd totally pay for a 15-18 inch SAMOLED+ monitor at 1280x800

I want a 27 inch SAMOLED+ screen with a resolution of 2560x1440 :v:
Considering the price of the 15" OLED monitors I wouldn't want one
That's the thing though. If Samsung were to blow the 7.7" one up to 15 inches than why would it cost so much? It couldn't cost more than the tablet itself. [editline]3rd September 2011[/editline]
I want a 27 inch SAMOLED+ screen with a resolution of 2560x1440 :v:
Not going to happen for a while.
So how do the Market updates work? I just got Market 3.0 yesterday after I reinstalled Cyanogenmod, and it apparently came out in July. Why wouldn't it update until I reinstalled? And I don't even have the newest update which has the +1 button and more settings. I found a place where I could download the APK, but it'd be nice if it was automatic so I'm not weeks or months behind on Market updates. [editline]3rd September 2011[/editline] Do the carriers have to supply the updates, so I get it whenever they feel like pushing the update? I have T-Mobile USA.
Just checked out the Galaxy Tab 10.1, holy shit it's amazing. I'm already in love with those mini apps, and I think it's lighter than my phone. [editline]3rd September 2011[/editline] [SUB]this post was not sponsored by Samsung[/SUB]

I know I'm late, but I just learned that Apple had the Galaxy Tab 7.7 removed from IFA.. What the fuck?
I know I'm late, but I just learned that Apple had the Galaxy Tab 7.7 removed from IFA.. What the fuck?
Source, I need to read this. [editline]3rd September 2011[/editline] http://www.engadget.com/2011/09/03/galaxy-tab-7-7-disappears-from-ifa-floor-not-a-trace-left-behin/
I didn't even know the 7.7 was a part of the lawsuit?
Everything is to Apple. They're trying to drive the competition out of the market. If the 7.7" realm is found to be better ergonomically than the 10" one, and the SAMOLED+ makes all the difference and the GT10.1 takes the 10" crown, then Apple loses an entire segment of the tablet market. The fuckers. It's cunning.

Oh wow, that's just lame.
That made me chuckle.
This one is my favorite.
Will Apple enlarge the 7.7" tablet to look like the 9.7" iPad in their future trials, too?
Samsung just launched their own launcher: http://www.youmobile.org/blogs/entry/Experience-the-New-Samsung-Pure-Breeze-UI-for-Android-Available-to-try-now Try it: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.samsung.smcl.spblauncherlite&feature=more_from_developer&rdid=com.samsung.smcl.spblauncherlite&rdot=1&pli=1 [editline]4th September 2011[/editline]

No thanks.

Ugh, Samsung Execs told Slashgear the Note is only arriving in Europe Q1 2012. Majorly saddened that I potentially have to suffer through my iPhone 3G for up to another 7 months.
Just bought Samsung Pure Breeze. I can already tell Cyanogen had some influence on this.
Is it just me or I can't use wallpapers with Pure Breeze?
Going to try it out now. You liking the sgs2 Garry? Edit: Don't like it :-(
When is ICS coming out, October?
When is ICS coming out, October?
On or right around the release of the Nexus/Droid Prime. So, likely mid-late October.
Going to try it out now. You liking the sgs2 Garry? Edit: Don't like it :-(
For a sec I thought you were talking to Garry Newman considering he picked up a SGS II so I didn't respond. Yah it's awesome, no lag like the Sensation or the Atrix. Unless I fill every page with widgets, then it slows down but that's to be expected. The screen is also great for watching movies. Less grainy than my SGS1.
On or right around the release of the Nexus/Droid Prime. So, likely mid-late October.
Aah good, that means theres a chance the Galaxy Note will have it too, with Gingerbread at IFA being a placeholder for demonstration. ()
