Samsung are going to release a 2000mAh battery for the SGSII. Adds 1mm thickness!

Anyone know if this was to come out worldwide where it would show up first?
Asked around in my town and they told me I would need to look online if this comes out in the near future.
Looking for a good Android phone for Verizon. Price isn't a problem. Any recommendations?
I've been wanting to get a Samsung Galaxy phone, but because Verizon sucks dick when it comes to getting the phones I want, I don't really have a choice.
Anything which is currently released to any releasing in the month of November will be preferable.
Possibly the Nexus Prime.
Wait for the Nexus Prime/Droid Prime to come out. The Thunderbolt is great if you get an extended battery or get lucky and get one with decent battery life, or find a nice kernel/rom. The Charge is pretty good too, but with the Droid Prime on the horizon, it'll leave you just behind the curve.

Unless you absolutely need a keyboard, then jump on the Droid 3.

The Bionic looks fine too, but with the Prime on the horizon, it seems a little stale.
Which has me worried about whether or not Verizon will really get it. The Prime would probably detract from Bionic and iPhone 5/4S sales.
If that Nexus Prime doesn't end up on Verizon, I will do some serious slaughtering.
Thanks guys, the Prime looks almost exactly what I need, and the "iPhone killer" part really had me sold. I'll definitely keep my eye on it.
If it doesn't end up on Verizon, I'll check out the Droid 3.
Ugh. No droid prime is absolutely on the horizon. Why would Google go from never giving Verizon a Google phone to giving them their own exclusive Google phone.
The "Nexus Prime" is Samsung property and that's pretty much a confirmation of existence. The only site to claim the Droid Prime exists is BGR.
Timed exclusive, perhaps. Weirder things have happened.
So failing the Prime, I'm getting a goddamn Bionic and mounting my Thunderbolt on the wall of "things I had to cope with".

I told people the Thunderbolt was a waste of money in like V2 of these threads. Have fun with your bionic. It's hard to express how big of a jump that is from a thunderbolt.

Of that, I've no doubt. As long as it lasts me the entire day, I'm fine with it. Hell, as long as it lasts me a normal school day (8:15-2:30), I'm satisfied.
So what, Thunderbolt is basically Desire HD for Verizon?

Desire HD+LTE.

OMAP4 should have been the Honeycomb standard, not Tegra 2. With so many people rushing to overclock their Tegra 2 devices they obviously aren't holding up in terms of speed.
The compass rotates in the wrong way for me. Shaking it and doing the 8-figure won't work. Also it can't play any movies. It's been like this since I got it last thursday, and I got it in the LG 24-hour service.
LG update thingey is down for maintenance, I'll try to run an update before calling the helpdesk.

Which device is this again?
+kickstand.
I have to admit, I'm really going to miss that damn kick.

I've never had one and I still miss it.
I've never had one and I still miss it.
It's surprisingly useful, every phone should have one.

The kickstand limits how thin a phone can be. I can't see a kickstand being put on my Galaxy S II without making the back cover MUCH thicker.

There are cases with them on, so it's a plus if you were going to have a case anyway.
I can just imagine if the kickstand was as thin as the back cover :v:
Well the international variant will but the US custom versions won't for 3-6 months after the international one if the US carriers do the same thing they did with the original.
LTE isn't really going to get "optimized". It's a battery sucker but it has a reason to be and it isn't going to improve substantially beyond software side optimizations and slightly improved radio tech.
LTE should have less battery drain when it's not an entirely separate radio, having LTE only enabled for some situations, it should all help.
It's actually still just Touchwiz 4.0. Fr4gg0r's modded one is typically referred to as 4.5. That aside I agree with you 100%. No more iOS style icon backgrounds, better animations and MUCH better widgets than old 3.0.
Too bad though, Samsung's RFS made the phone far too laggy and I had to revert to 2.3.3, and so now instead the phone will have to deal with Android OS CPU drain. Hoping that reboots solve that problem.
[editline]4th September 2011[/editline]
Going to have to wait for 2.3.4 ROMs for both the DHD and Captivate to be released and fully polished before I'll consider moving on.

I've noticed usually that a lot of things are more about optimizations and such for fluidity rather than just brute force speed.
Are there any cases for the ATT GS2 yet? I'll want one for the phone anyway, so why not now?
what are the drawbacks of purchasing from amazon wireless?
we're switching to sprint and getting a family data plan or w/e and the phones there are super cheap
Not really. Most mid-high end devices have 8-16GB internal storage.
My phone's RAM to internal storage is basically 1:1 :C

The phone's "Linux" (ext4, ext3, ext2, RFS)formatted partitions are something like 1.5-2 GB, usually the rest is formatted as FAT32

I remember those days,,, When I had my HTC Magic I had a 32gb MicroSD card formatted as 16gb ext3, 4gb swap and the rest fat32. I don't actually know why now.
There is apparently a "keyboard slider case" for iPhone 4

I WANT THIS FOR MY S2!!!! It's a nice phone, yeah, but I spend a lot of time typing shit and a keyboard would be great.. so I got this idea of buying this keyboard and a flip cover case, and combining them somehow. Not as pretty but it'll do the job until someone releases a slide case for the S2.
Am I being an idiot for wanting this? The S2 looks great but I'm more of a practicality guy than looks guy
I think the S2 would have suited a keyboard because of how thin it is without it

You can't be an idiot for wanting something perfectly reasonable. Its a cool concept.
