Lol sorry guys, this is pretty good. Better than my blade for sure.
Root your phone
No, but it hasn't force closed yet
My blade is slowly dying too :v:
Mine isn't dying, I love it still. I just love how everything on the iphone simply 'works'

I wish that was still true for my iPhone 3G. The only thing that seems to work without freezing/crashing is Bejeweled 2!

Galaxy Note first pre-order available at a speculative £600 from Clove (SIM Free), £100 more than the SGSII. Personally, fuck that I want a contract subsidy. (And a confirmed price from Samsung!).
garry sent me an iphone guys.
Lets see how this thing is :v:
you should start by jailbreaking it so you have access to apps that should already be available
How do I change my contact icon for SMS conversations on the Nexus S?

My Galaxy S has just worked since 2010. It's also been able to do things such as make folders and use widgets for easy access to information the whole time.
Protip: If you want a good Android experience get a good Android phone. A phone being better than the Blade isn't exactly an amazing feat.
My dad will probably get the Galaxy Note - damn that thing's awesome!
And I'm thinking of getting that KT Spider Phone with a tablet case, once Ice Cream Sandwich comes out, it will be so awesome.
Although I may just inherit my dad's Desire HD and get a quad-core tablet.
And once those are out, me and my dad will get my mom an Acer Iconia as her only computer - she already agreed to :)
Q4 2011 seems like the best time to be an Android user!

I found the iconia to be unusable compared to every other tablet. It's a TN panel device and it has that stupid grid effect from certain angles, was unbearable. Get the transformer with the dock if it's going to be someones main device and you need the USB ports.

Or Samsung Tab 10.1 with 30 pin --> USB :v:
Or Samsung Tab 10.1 with 30 pin --> USB :v:
I can't tell if that was a joke on Samsung's part. If you're planning on defending yourself from Apple lawsuits using a proprietary 30pin USB port isn't the best idea.

It's just that I only found 3 Honeycomb tablets on sale here so far, Iconia (Has USBs, which my mother needs), Transformer (buying a dock for USB ports is kinda lame, especially if she's going to only use the touch keyboard) and Galaxy Tab 10.1 (which is expensive as fuck here, like everything Samsung), and from those 3 Acer Iconia seems like the best option to me, as it includes all the features already without having to buy expensive adapters..
Is the grid thing really that bad?

Well I'm used to P-IPS monitors and OLED based screens so I'm very picky. It's not just the grid. It's the poor black levels and low color accuracy like every TN panel out there. Every other tablet is at least S-IPS. If your mom doesn't know anything better than a typical TN monitor then she won't mind it but if your household uses IPS panels for their computers she'll notice.

Thanks for advice.

If you don't notice then definitely get the iconia. Was just giving a heads up that some will notice.
Also, Samsung devices are EXPENSIVE here.
Galaxy S II in Thailand is ~633$, and ~966$ in Russia,
Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Thailand is ~600$, and ~830$ in Russia.
Hell, even the original 7 inch Galaxy Tab is almost 700$ here.
Xoom has only just gone down to £330 here, was £480!

I had a problem with this, you need to assign the phone number on the SIM card to your phone number, you can't do it from within Android though, I had to use my old Blackberry and edit the SIM details and it worked for me, it might be different for yourself.

Eugh, soo awkward to hold in one hand. You cannot possibly reach the upper or lower corners with your thumb.

It's definitely meant to be more of a two handed device, TW4 for it will most likely have a landscape mode. I was a big fan of the Streak 5 form factor so the Galaxy note interests me a great deal.
I got a HTC ChaCha not long ago, I love this Android set up.
The last phone I had was a Sony Ericson w995 but it broke about 7 months ago... using this new phone its like stepping into the future!

Isn't that the facebook phone with the landscape screen?
Anyone know if the Nexus Prime is coming to Telus up here in Canada?
Telus isn't bringing in the SGS2, and Bell's plans are roughly double (price wise) for the same/lesser quality of service.
This might be a dumb question but is there anything wrong with having Different PDA than Phone or does it even matter ?
I haven't found answer to this anywhere.

You might be able to buy it unlocked. However, I am not sure if they will sell it directly. I would assume that Google is going to expand the amount of carries that sell it, but nothing ever is a guarrantee. Plus, I am not sure how Canada sells phones. In the US, phone are 95% of the time bought on contract, whereas in Europe they almost never buy it subsidized and on a 2 year contract.

PDA is your kernel/ROM, Phone is your modem, CSC is your carrier crap so you can use your SIM card without manually setting up APNs.
Well, I'm going to try moving from CM7 on my D2G over to MIUI just to see how it is, and I'd like to know whether or not I would need to SBF back to stock before I go and try to flash MIUI. This would take a lot of time and I'd rather not have to, but if it's going to hard brick my device I'll obviously do it. If all I'm looking at is a possible soft-brick where I can still SBF I'll just give it a go and see what happens, but I'm not entirely sure.
Just avoid fucking with bootloaders, they raise blood pressure.
Ordered this yesterday for my Galaxy S 4G:

Does anyone else have an extended battery?
I have HUAWEI U8500 using 2.2.1. I have few questions as I am new to the android. Why Gmail always opens itself when I dont want it ( when I use task killer ) and is it possible to upgrade the android system.
The phone itself is the cheapest around, but the battery is quite good. 35 hours and 38% battery left ( been using wifi a little and calling )
