Eh, I guess some people like Android and others don't Functionality/simplicity or more functionality but more work on user end tough decision
Also, Samsung devices are EXPENSIVE here. Galaxy S II in Thailand is ~633$, and ~966$ in Russia, Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Thailand is ~600$, and ~830$ in Russia. Hell, even the original 7 inch Galaxy Tab is almost 700$ here.
Stop lying, I bought mine SGS after release for ~600$
I do. Just don't expect them to be 3500mAh like advertised. They are almost always 2000mAh or less.
What if I got something more expensive like this? Garry's twitter posts enrage me a bit He brainwashes his fans!

The point still stands, it's too damn expensive.
We're only 10 hours from the Bionic launch, anybody plan on joining me in a feeble attempt to snag one?
We're only 10 hours from the Bionic launch, anybody plan on joining me in a feeble attempt to snag one?
Sure, just fly me to the USA ;)
Sure, just fly me to the USA ;)
Heh. Does the Czech Republic even have a CDMA network compatible with Verizon's bands? Hell, does anywhere in the world? Ass backwards network providers :(
Heh. Does the Czech Republic even have a CDMA network compatible with Verizon's bands? Hell, does anywhere in the world? Ass backwards network providers :(
I hate how you american carriers have country carrier exclusives.
Ordered this yesterday for my Galaxy S 4G: http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galaxy-T-Mobile-Extended-Battery/dp/B0053DVMGA/ref=sr_1_64?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1315265285&sr=1-64 Does anyone else have an extended battery?
According to XDA these batteries consist of two cells of varying quality mashed toghether by amateur-grade solder. All Chinese made. I wouldn't put that thing anywhere near my phone.
Heh. Does the Czech Republic even have a CDMA network compatible with Verizon's bands? Hell, does anywhere in the world? Ass backwards network providers :(
Actually I'm in Russia, and the only CDMA carrier is absolutely retarded and only has 5 year old windows mobile 5 phones
What do you mean feeble attempt?
My feeble attempt. I've gotta convince Verizon to push my upgrade to now, from January. I expect it can't be that hard.
My feeble attempt. I've gotta convince Verizon to push my upgrade to now, from January. I expect it can't be that hard.
Oh, I was afraid it was something else. My upgrade is in 30 days, but I'm on a family plan and am going to be picking up a data plan with my smartphone so I bet they'l let it slide. Say, anyone know how fast new phones tend to get sold out? Is it even worth trying to go on the first day, or do people snatch them up really fast?
Lol at this point in time I'd rather have an iPhone 5 :P Sorry guys, I love widgets and ting, but this just..works
So does my Galaxy S from 2010. Your ZTE blade is NOT the best representation of Android. My 2.3.4 SGS never forcecloses. I can do flash without any slowdowns. I can play any media format imaginable. I get no slowdowns and can run any 3D game I wish. I'm not forced to use a program to manage my device and I have the best screen next to RGB based OLED devices. Funny. With all these things and the lack of slowdowns or crashes coupled with the quick updating after an Android release I guess you could say my phone JUST WORKS. Might I mention this is my old Galaxy S from 2010 which is now considered very outdated.
It's just that some Android devices have great potential, but you have to tinker with them to unlock it (Like the ZTE Blade, HTC HD2), and some are just pretty damn great (Like Samsung Galaxy S II, or HTC Sensation)

My mom read the account wrong. I don't have an upgrade in January, I have one in April. So yeah, going to have to live with my all-of-five-hour battery for awhile.

Droid X came out a year ago and I've been able to do everything I wanted to with it, with the exception of some more graphics-intensive emulation. Very fast and stable. My battery easily makes it through the day with medium-heavy use.
Are you stupid? They use the same network and CSRs, how could bell have less quality of service. Also Bell's plans are the exact same price as the Telus plans. All the stock plans in Canada are price fixed by the big 3. I think somebody is just jealous that he's stuck with telus.
I admit, I'm colouring my experiences of Bell by what they were like in 2000-05.
[editline]7th September 2011[/editline] Oh yah Telus is definitely cheaper, that's why they offer no 6GB/$30 option publicly right?
Going by Bell's site, they don't offer a 6GB/$30/mo publicly either. Indeed the only reference I can find is from third party sources that also announce Telus and Rogers are doing the same thing at the same time.
[editline]7th September 2011[/editline] Oh look. For $100 you get more minutes than Bell's Fab 10 plan but you get $1GB less data, evenings start 3 hours later, no FAB 10 nationwide and unlimited text simultaneously and you pay $35 more. You really should have done your research first. Even without my retention plan I can get better prices on Bell.
For the record the FAB 10 thing is advertised nowhere on Bell's site. If you hadn't said anything I would never known about it.
I think I am going to buy the droid bionic tomorrow when it comes out... I have had an upgrade since mid august and I just recently lost my cell phone charger camping so I have been using my dads phone :P. Anyone disagree with this purchase I know the phone is already rooted, but the bootloader is not unlocked yet. I need help I can't really make up my mind.
Lol at this point in time I'd rather have an iPhone 5 :P Sorry guys, I love widgets and ting, but this just..works
do not return to android thread thank you
Test test

http://www.bell.ca/shopping/PrsShpWls_fab10.page Proved both your statements wrong with one link. Unless you're going to argue that Bell.ca is not owned by Bell Canada. [editline]7th September 2011[/editline]
How's the battery usage?
When I was on vacation out west it would last 14-16 hours watching movies, listening to music and playing games with 3G, GPS and bluetooth enabled the entire time. The screen was also at max brightness.
What's a good case for the SGS2? I need something that's protective, lightweight, won't keep heat and is able to clip on to pants (why the hell would you carry this big a phone in your pockets?). [editline]7th September 2011[/editline] Also perhaps a screen protector if there are any good ones?

It should fit though, right? Talking about this: http://www.amazon.com/Seidio-Innocell-3000mAh-Extended-Packaging/dp/B004G5YXYE/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
Joey Davidson on why he switched to Android. Joey Davidson gets it. "But you know what I love most about the Android operating system so far? I’ve had this thing for a little under a month and I still get lost. That may seem like a knock to some of you folks, but I absolutely love that it’s taking me this long to learn all the ins and outs of the device. Within a day on iOS, I knew exactly what it was and wasn’t capable of. Android? No clue… but that gets my jazzed in a geeky way for what’s on the horizon." I have 2 android devices and the only thing that bugs me is that there are far too many crap apps on the market that seriously lack quality. Force-closes and such. Never owned and iPhone so I am unsure of the state of the app store.
