I'm running Stock 2.3.4 on my SGS II and the battery lasts for a bit more than a day of normal use.
My SGS lasted 3 days on light usage and phone calls on Cyanogen build 9X. I was shocked to say the least
are you sure? my feeling is that they only announced the unlocked bootloaders 2-3 months ago, and from what I understand, the bionic has been in development for a while
Yeah, Motorola didn't even keep their words. HTC said they will unlock the bootloaders, and they did! Unlike Motorola........
Isn't that the facebook phone with the landscape screen?
Yeah.. although its not a phone based around Facebook the button is really only used if your some fb geek who updates it all the time.
I personally love the way it looks, I didnt want a phone with a big touchscreen .. I know i'm in the minority on this

I'm not sure, but I have looked up about 10 internet sources and none of them have said the bootloader will be locked and not unlockable. Some say it's default unlocked, but most say there are just gonna be ways to unlock it.
I hope this will influence the market price on hardware:

VIDIA’s chief executive officer and president Jen-Hsun Huang confirmed that the company’s quad-core processor, currently codenamed “Kal-El,” will be available in tablets by the end of this year. “We’re the only people seriously on the dance floor with Qualcomm,” Huang told Forbes in a recent interview.
What phone is that? Me and my brother in law both have a SGS2 and neither of us have had the battery last longer than 8 hours.. do you think we're doing something wrong?
It lasts me 12 hours with heavy use + music on, and 18 with my portable battery charger.
Actually I'm in Russia, and the only CDMA carrier is absolutely retarded and only has 5 year old windows mobile 5 phones
What city are you in? I've lived in Moscow and all the carriers provided CDMA support (It is pretty awful tho) and soldnew phones

Eric Schmidt Confirms Rumors of a Fall Release for Ice Cream Sandwich
Eric Schmidt was at some conference for enterprise business stiffs talking about nonsense involving incentivizing vendors to increase marketshare or something. But he let a juicy bit of info slip: Ice Cream Sandwich is coming in October or November.
Previous rumors had suggested that Ice Cream Sandwich would come in October and Schmidt himself said that the update would arrive in "October or November." (See 30:25 in the above clip.) Android fanboys, rev your engines. [AndroidandMe via TheNextWeb]

You must be a time traveler from past
I was using 3G with mts for ages, and they only sell Iphones and new smart phones in their shops
Skylink is 3G only, and Beeline certainly supports it
Don't know about Megafon though
-edit-
By CDMA you mean 3G, right?

Doubt it.
Well, it is a pretty crappy photoshop :v:
Wow. If you guys can't get the differences between CDMA, UMTS(WCDMA,HSPA), EDGE, and LTE then you should just shut up about them and let people like PyroCF explain it.
Also Nvidia's CEO should explain how qualcomm is even on the dancefloor. Samsung has sold more exynos based devices than qualcomm has sold dual core chips for fucks sake. And Samsung only has one phone with an exynos.

I came.
I tried using MIUI for about a month on my Fascinate. It was alright but some basic phone functions weren't working properly so I'm now going to a vanilla AOSP Gingerbread ROM.

Useless because their modem will still be limited by what frequencies it supports. Most places use
GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
any carrier that doesn't(all USA except AT&T) should be shunned. Everywhere has a standard except them, so just make modems with those bands and add in an LTE chip with 700/1700. Ta da, the ultimate modem and you didn't need to waste time with anything but the 3 standards with the standard bands used for them.
Just ordered a USB OTG cable for my SGS II. It will supply the full 5V right?

Don't think so, my Tab doesn't.

Sammy are releasing a 2000mAh battery for the SGSII soon, pick one up and with a few tweaks it'll last ages. Try and get your hands on a 2.3.4 ROM though, stock KG6 is good or KH3 with respected modems.
Just got my droid bionic and I got 50 dollars off with my state discount :P I can not believe how bad my droid eris sucked, phones have changed a lot in two years :D So happy.

Nothing would work if it wasn't 5v. It will not supply enough current to power much though so forget bus powered hard drives and other high power devices.
