What's a good case for the SGS2? I need something that's protective, lightweight, won't keep heat and is able to clip on to pants (why the hell would you carry this big a phone in your pockets?). [editline]7th September 2011[/editline] :C Also perhaps a screen protector if there are any good ones?
i use izounds case for my sgs2... lightweight and does its job (atleast i think its izound) and for a screen protwctor id go for either invisibleshield or that other screen protector which i cant think of its name

I still say Samsung's official case is the best, even if it costs more than third party ones. As for screen protectors I've used iShieldz stuff for my old SGS and my Nexus S and they're great, but I don't think they've made a Galaxy S II one yet. Invisibleshield by ZAGG is also well recognized as being high quality.
I was going to get an SGP case and the GLAS thing for my SGS2, what do you guys think?
I have the cheap s-line case you can find on eBay and dealextreme for like £1.70, it's pretty good but I took the free screen protector off. The full body ones are a massive pain to apply and they scratch really easily unlike what their videos claim. It did look nice on my iPod touch at first though.
Is there a 'one click' way to unroot and restore a Nexus S to complete stock from a Google image?
Probably flash a stock ROM that will inevitably be on XDA-developers, pretty sure for anything that doesn't have a bootloader you need to unlock that's all you need to do because the phone will flash stock recovery and get rid of root. [editline]8th September 2011[/editline] Also noticed this forum is immensely laggy on Android for some reason or another. [editline]8th September 2011[/editline]
Useless because their modem will still be limited by what frequencies it supports. Most places use GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 any carrier that doesn't(all USA except AT&T) should be shunned. Everywhere has a standard except them, so just make modems with those bands and add in an LTE chip with 700/1700. Ta da, the ultimate modem and you didn't need to waste time with anything but the 3 standards with the standard bands used for them.
I would probably pay more for a full LTE/HSPA+/EDGE modem that supports all bands for those standards, but usually only international versions will have it.

You US people are the lowest priority when it comes to cellular, because you've fucked up every standard. Your carriers even bullied the itu into changing the definition of 4G to make it fit your networks. If they make a multi standard chip it'll be using the frequencies I posted. Not the abnormal non standardized ones the US uses.

But then the only carrier it will support fully in the US is AT&T. T-mobile uses 1700mhz for most of their coverage and 2100 when on their 42mbps network. And sprint and Verizon are, well, CDMA with Verizon not accepting outside ESNs.
Just received a G2x. Is there any thing I should know regarding it and some standard android things I should know? I'm completely new to this platform.
Damn all this 3G CDMA LTE whatever stuff is a mess. I just call WCDMA/EVDO/HSPA/whatever 3G V:v:V [editline]8th September 2011[/editline] This may be the Nexus Prime: Specs: Android 4.0, 4.6-inch Super AMOLED, 1.5GHz Processor, 5MP Camera + F 1MP, 1080p HD Video, WiFi, GPS As seen on http://www.handtec.co.uk/product.php/5527/google-nexus-prime--sim-free-unlocked-
I'm getting it.

http://www.engadget.com/2011/09/09/german-court-upholds-injunction-against-samsung-galaxy-tab-10-1/ Well, Galaxy Tab's gone in Germany, apparently the last time was only temporary or something. Not gonna lie though, on the Engadget picture, it does look like an iPad.
I find it hilarious on how broken the US carrier system is
I find it utterly depressing.
my galaxy sII got stolen last night :c
my galaxy sII got stolen last night :c
:( You got Samsung Dive? You can track it.
Link?
Here's the thread on XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1123068 Read through a few pages, there's a Chinese guy buying straight from the black market. [editline]9th September 2011[/editline]
my galaxy sII got stolen last night :c
Oh man that fucking sucks. I lost my wallet yesterday and it's annyoing as hell but losing my S2 would probably make me kill someone. [editline]9th September 2011[/editline]
do not return to android thread thank you
Umm guys, telling people to go away is a not so convincing way of expressing Android's superiority. (and it's not nice either) [editline]9th September 2011[/editline]
What phone is that? Me and my brother in law both have a SGS2 and neither of us have had the battery last longer than 8 hours.. do you think we're doing something wrong?
Most likely. Even on a day with intense usage the battery will last me ~10 hours. Are you sure you have no cpu/sync intense apps running?
Also disable fast dormancy by dialling *#9900#
Also disable fast dormancy by dialling *#9900#
This just doubled my mobile internet speeds.
Just got the new market to work on my HD2. Damn it's pretty. Also, can I disable this "fast dormancy" thing on my HTC phone? I ran the command, but it gave me an "invalid mmi code" error.

[editline]9th September 2011[/editline]
http://www.engadget.com/2011/09/09/german-court-upholds-injunction-against-samsung-galaxy-tab-10-1/ Well, Galaxy Tab's gone in Germany, apparently the last time was only temporary or something. Not gonna lie though, on the Engadget picture, it does look like an iPad.
I agree Silver. I'm sorry guys but design wise the tab 10.1 does resemble the ipad. It even has the bit of the silvery white bezel on the sides of the device coming around around the black bezel like the original ipad. And in person the width of the black bezel is near identical to the ipad. If I were to take that ipad picture and stretch it out to make the screen look wider you would have an even more eerie resemblance.
my galaxy sII got stolen last night :c
I have lookout security incase my blade goes walking. I will probably write my own app to dump GPS co-ordinates to my home server every 10 minutes.
my galaxy sII got stolen last night :c
Install Plan B right now. Text yourself "Locate". Enjoy your phone's GPS coordinates in your email.
Fuck yeah HTC Sense phone locator.
Find my iPhone
Find my iPhone
Go enjoy your iPhone in the apple section. Nobody cares for your offtopic posts. Hell you would have been banned by now if you weren't an admin. Trolling, provoking anger, offtopic posting, take your pick. There are lots of people on Facepunch who discuss iphones. This thread isn't the place though.
Install Plan B right now. Text yourself "Locate". Enjoy your phone's GPS coordinates in your email.
Done this but no email yet :/ even if i do get the location not much i can really do with the information
I hate fast dormancy when my fucking phone decides to go to 3G while I'm using it for web browsing. [editline]9th September 2011[/editline]
Done this but no email yet :/ even if i do get the location not much i can really do with the information
Plot it on google maps, gain profit. [editline]9th September 2011[/editline]
Find my iPhone
Not everyone wants to pay for what is really a free service.
Done this but no email yet :/ even if i do get the location not much i can really do with the information
Herp take it to the police.
