Magic, I don't know how. CM 7.1.0 RC1, hardly anything installed might explain it. Now if only BusyBox would hurry up and install on my Tab. My favourite ROM dev from the Galaxy Tab 7 has just come over.
Well, but what do you do with it in a day? Make texts? Check the time occasionally? Or do you spend a bunch of time surfing the web, watching things, etc. There are too many factors that affect battery, especially with custom shit. The people running CM4DX on the gingerbread kernel are getting twice as much as those on the Froyo, though I feel it's more related to idle drain management because heavy use still seems about the same.
Why it is VERY important to clear battery stat after ROM installation (my own personal mess up) Before wipe: After:
That actually looks like you had a partial wake problem beforehand, but if your battery meter was uncalibrated then you would think battery drain was worse than it actually was.
That actually looks like you had a partial wake problem beforehand, but if your battery meter was uncalibrated then you would think battery drain was worse than it actually was.
If the batter isn't calibrated the phone will die even though the battery still has charge. So these graphs make perfect sense. The phone believed it was draining faster with the uncalibrated battery and then it died earlier.
Except there's more use on the first graph? So it means nothing?
Except there's more use on the first graph? So it means nothing?
Only a tiny bit more. Also look at the phone signal. I also used it a fair bit more today.
I thought this was quite good, considering I did pretty much everything you can do on the phone whilst listening to music. 1000th post
It's great because of the immense amount of partial wakelock the audio player was holding.
No way of telling unless you know which apps were running in the background, if you had wifi/bluetooth/GPS enabled and at which level your display brightness was set.
WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, Data are all off because I'm not using them so why should they be on? Not Android related but for Canadians to know Bell is launching their LTE network around the GTA and KW. http://mobilesyrup.com/2011/09/13/bell-officially-launching-lte-network-tomorrow-in-toronto-mississauga-hamilton-kitchener-waterloo-and-guelph/ They're also launching a lineup of zero phones and one LTE stick. HOORAY! Also you'll be falling back on HSPA+ which still gets 9-12Mbps average.
What's the best way to back up data? I just found out that rooting requires a complete wipe, but I already have a buncha stuff on my new Nexus S, so I want to back up some of the data/apps. Help?
I have a HTC Smart. It is running Brew MP, it is fucking shit.
I have a HTC Smart. It is running Brew MP, it is fucking shit.
My bro has it. Its a dumb phone trying to be smart.

[editline]13th September 2011[/editline] From what I'm reading this only unlocks the phone so you can write stuff to system files, then you flash a recovery .img file and then flash superuser for root. Losing data only occurs if you wipe everything. [editline]13th September 2011[/editline]
I have a HTC Smart. That would be an obvious battery killer.
It is overclocked from 600MHz to 768MHz, battery lasts about 2-4 days.
Thinking of getting a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Is there another "high-end" tablet coming soon I should maybe wait for?
Well, quad-core tablets should be coming in October.
I like the red-on-black, I'll give it that.
Too bad the beats audio quality actually wont be an improvement. Beats sound chips and headphones are made to make everything overly bassy. You want good sound? Go pick up the original SGS with the wolfson DAC. Best in class. That's a huge flaw with my SGS II, the sound isn't near as good as the original. Also. I was in Rogers today and played around with the EVO 3D some more. That phone is exactly what HTC sense 3.0 needed. It craves that extra ram that the Sensation failed to provide and it makes a huge difference in how smooth the phone is. Definitely a great device.

I've got mine sounding pretty good.
Pick up Volume+ and/or DSP Manager. I've got mine sounding pretty good.
I'm using DSPmanager. Definitely makes it sound better but with high end sound hardware and headphones the best setting for the equalizer is OFF.
What's a good phone with a keyboard for someone in the Czech Republic? He refuses to go GS/SII because they're being sued by Apple, and he insists on a keyboard. He's incredibly stubborn, so I'm not gonna bother arguing with his theories. He also doesn't have a definite price range and is looking at the Desire Z. Any good recommendations?

When I bought my SGS II the biggest factor that affected me was a lawsuit between two companies that affects me in no way whatsoever. The DZ is something that was considered a good level device in early 2010. But if he's so desperate for a physical keyboard then it's really his only option unless he's willing to import the Droid 3 UMTS variant. Also, I haven't been into the android scene for a long while. Do people do any cool things with the Galaxy S original anymore? I've tried MIUI and it didn't really go well for me.
It's still the most active device section on XDA devs.
Sucks being an American, I'm stuck with the Fascinate, doesn't have as much things going for it as the full-blooded i900.
