Implying arm and x86 are even comparable.

Your PC is shit.
Your PC is shit.
Possibly a pentium 3 based machine.
I should read up on ARM some more...
C2D 2.2Ghz by the way.
just tried out the new Sony tablet and I must say its the best variant of honeycomb I ever used, and the tablet itself isn't that bad either. its way lighter than it looks, almost as light as the galaxy tab 10.1
[editline]14th September 2011[/editline]
If someone ported the Sony honeycomb rom to the galaxy tab id download it in a heartbeat
The ability to control my ps3 from my tablet is just too cool

I still have a 2.0 Ghz on my desktop :(
2.0-2.5 GHz Krait Quadcore when clock for clock, core for core, it is definitely faster than Cortex A15 chips.
Not my words, but of SemiAccurate's Charlie. The guy has some damn good moles, so I'd be inclined to trust him.
A dual core Krait beats a quad core 1 GHz A9.

The Sensation XE screams "meh" to me, no upgrade in RAM, no upgrade to resolution, anything. The only thing it might have is earbuds that aren't awful, but I toss pretty much all included earbuds and headphones because of how resoundingly shit they are in general.
Give me a Sensation that loses some weight and thins out a bit, better GPS, 1-1.5 GB of RAM, actually decent sound quality from the speaker and solid output for headphones/earbuds, and 720p AH-IPS and then we'll talk.
When I say better GPS, I mean less than 10 second lock time with assistance, less than 1 minute lock time unassisted, WAAS/EGNOS onboard, 6 foot accuracy when standing in open fields with clear skies.
Pretty much GPS needs to be just as accurate as dedicated consumer GPS units, with similar accuracy, but at the same time power draw shouldn't be insanity, from 100 percent if GPS is constantly on and the screen on auto-brightness, there should be around 3-4 hours of runtime before shutdown.

Dream phone:
More like an 8 MP f/2.2 camera off the Mytouch 4G Slide or an N9, 720p Super AMOLED+ display or LG AH-IPS 720p in 4.5" formfactor, Qualcomm MSM8974 SoC, GPS accuracy down to 9 feet in car on passenger seat, no loss of lock, 2000 mAh battery, 2 MP front camera, NFC, 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi. 32GB of internal NAND flash. Top left of phone has power button, top right has 3.5mm jack, left side has volume rocker towards the top, and near the bottom of the left side would have the microUSB port w/ MHL and USB OTG. 2 GiB of LPDDR2 @ 500 Mhz.
Full noise canceling, Audience sound canceling and Wolfson DAC. The phone should be as thin as possible, but the outside should be much like the Captivate, plastic with a textured aluminum backplate, and both SIM and microSD card should be hotswappable. Green and orange LED lights for notifications/battery charging.
Two versions by Samsung and HTC, identical spec or better, they can choose how to design it (aluminum unibody vs plastic exterior).
How well will a galaxy sii last for a 3 hour car trip, while in near constant use. Using 3G mostly. Not playing music.

It should be fine, but you'll probably make it come close or used up a significant amount of battery.
What is the best way to learn android development without the knowledge of Java?

That would be quite useful on that dell netbook which flips and has a touchscreen.

Well if don't want to use a language your opinions become weaker and the solutions less powerful than actual programming but you should check out the app inventor
So Android is coming to x86 officially.
Will the apps all work on x86, since it is Java?
Because then it could be pretty cool to install it on some old laptop.

Yes, except those with native code like games and browsers and all iOS ports.

Wow. I can't respect anybody who trusts ol' charlie. You realize the guy publishes Nvidia hate articles because he broke their NDA and they stopped letting him review their stuff. Truly a professional who can be trusted 100%.
I trust qualcomm's claims that clock for clock they'll be faster than A15s. But the problem with them making their own core architecture is that when A15s become obsolete then krait will as well.
Got a Galaxy Tab 10.1 with a keyboard dock, a normal dock, extra USB cable and a sleeve.

Local lucky draw.
Damn it, I want free tablets too :(
I got my Galaxy S II today, my first foray into Android and touchscreen phones (upgraded from a Blackberry Curve 8520).
And I have to say it's absolutely blown me away.
Is there a way to improve the speed of scrolling on the ZTE Blade?
I have already overclocked it, put a custom ROM on it, but it's still lagging like hell.

Which ROM?
So whats a Orange San Fransisco/ZTE Blade with the OLED display worth? It's used.
My friend has one and he wants to sell.
