I heard the Xperia Play was coming to AT&T. Either way, any single core 1 GHz phone won't let you down.
Are there any Android phones on prepaid providers, or am I shit out of luck if I'm poor and cheap as fuck?

I believe there are some on Virgin Mobile.

Sony Ericsson
Updates
Pick one
Sony Ericsson

Pick one
Considering how Xperia X10 got Gingerbread earlier than HTC Desire, I'm pretty sure they're not that bad.

Its fucking horrible. I swiped through my classmate's phone with about 5 widgets, and it lags.

I pick "Sony Ericsson does not tickle my fancy, irrelevant"

Kind of weird how my next smartphone will probably be determined by whether I can find a ROM I like for it.
Hey, on the subject of iPhone again.. DON'T baww at me.
I recently got Tap Tap revenge, which is fucking sweet, and I decided to get it for my blade aswell, but they make you buy pretty much every aspect of the ingame stuff.
Also why is angry birds free on Android and yet it's 69p on ios?
It's the little changes like that which bug me.

With a rooted phone you can get a lot of Tap Tap songs for free.
Why is Angry Birds free on Android? We want to make Angry Birds available for as many people as possible. Previously, many people were experiencing problems in finding Angry Birds on Android Market, but now everybody can download the game on their device.
Ok, why not do the same for iOS though.
Ok, why not do the same for iOS though.
Because Apple.

Larger market share making money of adverts for Android will probably be making more or the same as paying for the iOS version.

because android is more superior
There is the option to buy an ad-free version of Angry Birds on the Amazon App Store if you really want to pay for it.
Ordered a Desire Z, sorry to keep talking about it, I'm just excited :zoid:

Remember to get rid of Sense once you get it to fully optimize your phone.

Need a 5" Android equivalent to an iPod Touch? Bam. Here it is.
Already sold out :v:
Damn, just refreshed to see that.

I have never owned an android phone before, I'm gonna need a full guide on how to do custom roms and all of that, I'll stick with sense until then, I quite like sense, from having played with my girlfriends phone alot (desire)

Basically, Sense, if the ROM cooker is good at tweaking it, should feel pretty much just as smooth as the G2 stock. Without Sense, and proper optimization to an AOSP ROM, it'll end up being probably much smoother though.
All a question of tradeoffs.
What I'm really missing from my HTC Touch Diamond 2 is the LED indicator.
Is there any app for the Galaxy S to make, for example, the back/menu buttons blink or something when I receive an SMS or have a missed call?

get a kernel with Bln support or just get no led which is easier

What Pyro said, BLN Notification and a kernel that supports it.

That's what I was saying to myself the other day when I checked for updates.

Either it's because the buildbot ain't working or because the android kernel website got taken down because kernel.org was 'hacked'

No LED is pretty fine, but for some reason it keeps displaying the clock, even though I disabled it in the settings.

Galaxy S is free on AT&T, get that.
Wait, it's free? When I check the price on att.com it says it's 50 dollars.
[editline]eqwfnwe[/editline]
Yeah, I even checked after clicking "upgrade this line" and it still said it was 50 dollars.
Anyone?
Refurbished version is 10 dollars.
What exactly does refurbished entail? Are they "good as new" but the only catch is they MIGHT break earlier or what?
