What exactly does refurbished entail? Are they "good as new" but the only catch is they MIGHT break earlier or what?
It just means that it was used, was broken and is now repaired. It doesn't necessarily mean it'll be more likely to break down.

Doesn't even mean it was broken, it could have been returned or sold back to the company. (Canon do this with their loyalty program)
Friend owns a htc incredible s, but keeps annoying me saying he's phone is better than my galaxy s 2. How can I shut him up?

Ask him to name one thing an Incredible S can do that even the old SGS can't(hint:the answer is nothing).

Incredible S is a great phone, Galaxy S2 is a much better phone though

Do they repair ALL OF IT? Like, removing scratches and dents and cracks and all that?
I already have a shitty phone just to make calls and text, so I probably would prefer a tablet instead of a new phone.
Which one is better between Motorola Xoom and Asus Eee Pad Transformer?

Good god.

Should run a benchmark test side by side.
That'll shut him up.

Ram disk it. Just because....
*I do not endorse this :v:*
Remember to get rid of Sense once you get it to fully optimize your phone.
Yeah, Sense really gimps the Desire Z.
Speaking from personal experience.
Not really important, but should mentioning of applanet be made illegal here?
Not really important, but should mentioning of applanet be made illegal here?
Unless you go "WOW GUYS I JUST PIRATED ANGRY BIRDS WITH APPLANET IM SO COOL" it's fine.
Huh, never knew of applanet before you mentioned it shian...

This could be very useful for us smarthphone users:

And Samsung counters Apple's patent infringements:

As your speaking from experience, what do you think I should do then? I plan on rooting and thats all I got so far.

If that thing hadn't been running in Chinese I would totally phone my family in Shanghai to get me one.

There is just no point making the phones even more powerful, even with ICS coming out real soon, which'll feature hardware acceleration, a quad-core phone is just an overkill.
You can set it to english, also if it's still using MIUI you could just put any MIUI translation patch on it
Sounds tempting, but I think I'll be content with a SGS II after all.

Make sure you've studied and understood the process of flashing a custom rom 100%, then flash it with a new one.
Only so much can be done with the stock one, compared to most custom one's made for that model.
Personally I'm running a (slightly old but stable version of) Cyagonmod7
which'll feature hardware acceleration
This has not been confirmed and it will only be enabled on devices where the OEM reworks it to work with the hardware they choose. So the most likely scenario is Samsung phones and the Nexus prime have HW acceleration and most other OEMs don't bother. HTC Sense is partially hardware accelerated but many parts such as the app drawer and widget rendering are not.

Also could somebody explain the influx of rumors on sites claiming that it'll be called the Droid Prime and will be Verizon exclusive? It would make no fucking sense to make a developer device that only works on one carrier in one country. It makes so little sense, I can't even fathom what they were thinking when they started reporting that. The only way Verizon could get it exclusive is if they paid google to compensate for the device never selling on any other carrier or in any other country, and that would be a fortune.

As I understand it, it's assumed to be a timed exclusive right now and released as the Droid Prime at first, with the true Nexus Prime releasing on it's standard GSM bands sometime after.
That'd be the only logical way for the rumors to work.
Before making smartphones any more powerful, what they have to do is make their batteries last longer..
Before making smartphones any more powerful, what they have to do is make their batteries last longer..
Yes, because developing better processors causes massive drops in revenue and they can't afford researching better batteries anymore because of them.
Before making smartphones any more powerful, what they have to do is make their batteries last longer..
Or maybe focus on making the parts more power efficient, instead of more powerful.
they should work on smallifying batteries while making them better
then I'll be happy

We're at a sort of wall with battery technology right now. No super promising technologies have come out to replace lithium. Usually a replacement comes in before the technology hits it's potential, like graphene/quantum computing is doing for CPUs and SSDs are doing for HDDs. Batteries don't have that.
