I saw that earlier. You know what a better solution is? Put 16GB internal like every other manufacturer. I looked and nowhere does HTC appear on blacklists for flash memory providers.
Are you going to do this every time HTC releases any news at all?
Are you going to do this every time HTC releases any news at all?
Are you going to ignore facts when people present them? First of all you're blatantly wrong when you claim I do this every time HTC news is posted.
Despite you trying to claim I blindly hate HTC I've shown on multiple occasion that this isn't the case. I give a considerable amount of praise to their EVO 3D as it's one of the best phones on the market.
At the same time I criticize them for calling their phones media centric and then packing a miniscule amount of internal storage, and for making phones that lag during operation due to the large amount of 3D effects used in their UI.
Sorry if you disagree with facts, but 16GB holds more than 1GB, this has been proven on multiple occasions.
Well examining my library it seems that each music file is about 40MB large and my movies range from 3GB-8GB. I simply can't fit these on 1GB+32GB, and Canada is all tiered data plans so this deal with dropbox does me no good. So if you think me wanting an HTC device with 16GB internal memory is dumb then you can piss off because I use my phone for media more than anything else, and I need all the storage I can get.
-automerge failure. what the fuck-
Why do I get so many force closes and reboots whenever I install a Cyanogenmod 7 nightly build. Any ideas how to fix it? I've tried reflashing and fixing permissions
Backup anything you don't want to lose, then wipe data and cache and flash again.

Backup apps and data with Titanium Backup. Reboot into recovery and wipe system, data, cache and datadata. Then flash the nightly and restore your apps. Do not restore system data.

While I do agree about lack of storage, you mention that often enough for some people to get annoyed.
And I wouldn't really say that their phones have UI lag all the time.
The HTC Hero I just tried doesn't lag, my HTC Desire doesn't, my dad's Desire HD doesn't, Evo 3D I checked out recently didn't lag either.

If the posts annoy you then we have a magical feature known as the ignore list. I think you just made a poor argument and are trying to pass it off as you getting annoyed to the point where you didn't think it through.
As for lag,
I've had a desire(returned for an i9000), I own a DHD, and I've used a stock EVO 3D several times. If you can't see the lag there then you're purposely ignoring it. Put over 5 widgets and animations begin to run at around 20-25fps, that's animation lag. Hell the app launcher scrolling animation is choppy no matter what you do.

I wasn't even aware that they launched the bloody thing, let alone sent out updates. Does anybody here have one?
I need me some 3.2 goodness on my tab

Evidently, HTC is moving towards actually having a decent amount of internal storage, because the HTC Raider 4G (maybe coming to AT&T as the HTC whateverthefuck 4G) has 16 GB NAND flash memory, and I would assume a microSD slot too, so you can in theory have at least a max of 48 GB of storage.

I'd buy it but I'll wait for these specs with a Krait based chip, that way it'll run perfectly smooth, have a great display, and have ample internal storage.
[editline]22nd September 2011[/editline]
WAIT. This is qHD? Never mind, I thought it was 720p.

True, at qHD it shouldn't be all that bad though. The HTC Vigor will probably have more issues with the GPU just running out of steam. Worst comes to worst, I guess the best option is to probably see if a dev would make a ROM that disables the 3D layering of the widgets, since that's the single biggest cause for launcher lag in Sense 3.0.

Yah but that's exactly why I'll wait for krait. Then we won't need a deb to make a removed 3d layering version, it'll just run amazingly on its own. Plus those Krait chips should be able to power a 720p display no problem.

I saw an app in here a while back that boosts signal, can anyone tell me the name of it?
Thanks =)
Do you mean with wifi?
it's an orange only app called 'Signal booster'
that's the one I posted anyway

Been doing this the last two hours, working great so far. Thanks for the suggestions guys.

what does "orange only" mean
what does "orange only" mean
Orange is a UK carrier.

Crashes every minute. Way too unstable to be used. Looks like I have to backtrack 3 hours of work again and restore my 7.0.3 backup

If google services framework FCes first, it is possible to fix by wiping the data of all the google apps and of the google services framework
It didn't work for me, but it can work for you

if this miniscule difference is ruining your experience than you should most likely donate your amazingly good eyeballs to science so they can research them and find out how you surpassed everyone else in terms of eyesight.

Now make an HTC Viper and we're all set.
God the design of that HTC Radier/Holiday is fucking amazing. I hope they make similarly designed devices when Krait rolls around.

Galaxy Note is pentile I think, but with that 720p resolution, who gives a shit?
[editline]23rd September 2011[/editline]
Heh, even in the thumbnail AMOLED looks better.

Everyone is calling it a Super Amoled and not a Super Amoled Plus so yes I assume it is RGBG(which is perfectly fine). The reason the SGS II series uses RGB is because at 4.3-4.5 inches the recommended ppi for use of a pentile subpixel matrix is too low. But with the note having a ppi of 285 there's no issue with using RGBG.
I'm kind of sure that the HTC Desire's OLED screen wasn't even a Super AMOLED.
[editline]22nd September 2011[/editline]
One of the biggest problems with pure AOSP Android is that it's really missing a cohesive and consistent UI. Really really hope that Jellybean or ICS fixes it.

I think the reason why it'd be a big deal is because the "plain old LCD" screen of the OG Droid is still a very very good screen. Otherwise, Pentile or not, I don't really notice a huge difference. 800x480 SAMOLED in a 4 inch formfactor might appear a bit worse with very specific patterns, but it really shouldn't be a big deal.

In Motorola's Pentile phones I'm pretty sure it's RGBW.
A GSII with a keyboard

This past summer, while we awaited news form US carriers on their Samsung Galaxy S II offerings, images of a QWERTY slider surfaced alongside rumors that AT&T would introduce the model as its keyboard-enabled GS2. Clearly, that has not come to pass, but the hardware is still kicking around, and now looks like it will be arriving in Canada as the Galaxy S Glide.
The Glide's hardware is up there at a comparable level to the GS2's, including a dual-core 1.2GHz processor and eight-megapixel camera (1.2MP front-facer). The screen is a smidge smaller on the Glide, measuring-in at only 4 inches, and we're told it will be a Super AMOLED display. We would have expected it to use Super AMOLED Plus technology, as the GS2, but the source's failure to mention "plus" may have just been an oversight.
Of course, to have a hardware keyboard, the Glide doesn't end up looking as slender as the GS2. That trade-off's hardly exclusive to this device line, though, and it's nice for users to at least have the option open. Look for the Galaxy S Glide to find a home at Rogers near the end of 2011.

I shouldn't have looked up my Track & Trace number.
Because I'm almost camping at my mailbox after seeing that the delivery man is on its way.

I'd so buy this if I didn't already have a regular one (and if it was available in Europe). :(
Wish my SGS had a keyboard. Next phone will have one.
