Yah the lack of SD is an issue. I think the Xoom is the only 3G tablet that has an SD slot so I guess get the Xoom.
I've been thinking of getting a tablet aswell and since I've had a really pleasant experience with Samsung products lately the Galaxy Tab seemed like a solid purchase.. but now you're telling me I'd be stuck with internal storage on the thing? :(
Spent the last day playing around with app inventor, came up with this: It's based off the tutorial for the mole thing, but adds timing into the mix. Whilst app inventor/code blocks are good for starting to program, it really isn't flexible.

Pretty much every tablet owner and almost every HTC device owner gets by with 16GB memory. But yes, for those who use a lot of storage(I use around 40GB) the Galaxy Tab simply isn't a viable option.

I personally got the Xoom, and it was actually cheaper than the GT, and came with 32GB storage and a SD/MicroSD slot. Very happy with it, had zero issues with it so far. (Owned it for about a month).
About the "Motorola never updates it" problem, is it true?
Oh, I assumed he was in the US.
You realize we have country flags under our avatars right? He lives in Brazil. Also +1 respect for Verizon. I hate your network with a passion but you're fighting for consumer choice. http://www.engadget.com/2011/09/24/verizon-goes-to-bat-for-samsung-in-patent-war-with-apple/
All I want to do is allow my phone to have the best possible performance while being aware of the concerns I outlined in my previous post. (This means keeping to official releases - no custom ROMs or unlocked bootloaders nor do I care about root.)
Yes, but what I'm saying is that at least with Odin you can flash your official releases in a way that you know exactly what will be going into your phone. If you see that it's flashing bootloaders, you can at least know whether you can avoid flashing bootloaders. Basically, bootloaders are the most dangerous things to flash and really you should avoid them like the plague.

I wouldn't be so paranoid if it wasn't a bell specific optimized SGS2.

God I'm stuck in the old days.
Really? I used to flash them quite often on my HTC Magic. God I'm stuck in the old days.
Flashing bootloaders is perfectly safe. SOMEBODY here is misinformed about flashing roms.
Is a bootloader effectively what a BIOS is on a PC?
Well then enjoy never getting past froyo because all gingerbread roms EVER include a different bootloader.
Which is why it's best to just flash bootloaders once and never bother again. Flashing Captivates made for bad memories man.
Which is why it's best to just flash bootloaders once and never bother again. Flashing Captivates made for bad memories man.
Your bootloader must relate to the ROM you're running. Moving to gingerbread you MUST flash a gingerbread bootloader. If you ever revert to froyo you have to flash a rom with a froyo SBL. This is true for every version so you can't just flash bootloaders once and never bother again if you're planning on upgrading your version of the OS. [editline]26th September 2011[/editline] I mean. Who gave you this idea that flashing bootloaders was dangerous and bad? It's perfectly safe and in any situation where you're changing the version of android(excluding sub versions) you must flash bootloaders.
Which is why it's best to just flash bootloaders once and never bother again. Flashing Captivates made for bad memories man.
Really? My Captivate flashes like a charm
So I ordered my phone on Friday, what are the chances that it'll get here tomorrow?
So I ordered my phone on Friday, what are the chances that it'll get here tomorrow?
None Delivery doesn't work on weekends in most countries
None Delivery doesn't work on weekends in most countries
Dammit, I want my Captivate. :(

Flashing bootloaders inherently carries the risk of a hard-brick, plain and simple. If anything screws up, the entire phone will simply refuse to show signs of life and you'll have to get someone to do a JTAG to revive the phone. In the Captivate, bootloaders control the ability to even get into download mode, so if the bootloaders are mismatched or corrupt, it gets bricked. I got the idea from when I bricked a Captivate twice. A hard brick where the USB jig that should force it to download mode wouldn't work, hardware key combos wouldn't work, etc. It just bothers me that in order to flash most things you have the possibility of a brick risk.

[editline]26th September 2011[/editline] GUYS. Big news. Big news indeed. http://www.slashgear.com/samsung-galaxy-s-ii-hd-lte-and-galaxy-s-ii-lte-official-26182723/
Samsung Korea has unveiled two LTE versions of the Galaxy S II, the Samsung Galaxy S II LTE and the Samsung Galaxy S II HD LTE, the latter packing a huge 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD display running at 1280 x 720 resolution. Each model totes a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, WiFi a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0 along with 4G LTE support and NFC, though the Galaxy S II LTE makes do with a 4.5-inch WVGA panel as on the EPIC 4G Touch.
It'll be a huge friggin phone. But a 1280x720 SAMOLED+ screen at 4.65". That's over 300ppi.
the latter packing a huge 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD display running at 1280 x 720 resolution.
Blasted arbitrary inch measurement, where did I leave me ruler? The fuck? That's bigger than the palm of my fucking hand!
That size would be fine without the buttons, using that space for the virtual ones in ICS.
I think that's over the line. These are supposed to be handheld devices?
Just received my Neo Hybrid White case for SGS2 in the mail. Good looking case but since it has been developed for the South Korean version of the SGS2 it's quite a loose fit. Other than that it seems like a good case. [editline]26th September 2011[/editline]
GUYS. Big news. Big news indeed.
