Still waiting for someone to clarify what was mean. You just have to randomly drag music to whatever folder you want. This is how all MP3 players, usb drives, sd cards, and compact disks work. I was simply telling Van-Man that such posts here need to be ignored because it creates so much clutter in the thread that really isn't necessary. Use PMs or even better, just use google. [editline]26th September 2011[/editline] It won't help. The phone has its own CPU governor that downclocks the cpu depending on how much power the device needs to complete a task. You won't really see any improvements by downclocking.
oh, too bad could be useful having it rooted anyways though! do you know where i can find a guide? tried searching on xda as i said, but i didnt find anything
If this thread handled Igngamer updating his bootloader, I'm sure it can handle a person learning to copy music :v:
When did we have to talk Igngamer through updating his bootloader? I must have missed that. Also that kind of issue makes sense. It could be considered difficult. Moving files from one window to another is not. But you'll get your device marked as a flashed device.
i feel like these questions dont belong in this thread but cant i use odin or something?
i feel like these questions dont belong in this thread but cant i use odin or something?
I would argue they do because the SGS II has the issue of that stupid counter and OCLF is broken. From what I understand you need a USB jig to reset it so just keep that in mind. Just download the CF-root kernel from the i9100 section of XDA and then flash it with odin.
itunes + non apple device what the fuck man. what kinda sick man does that?
Won't even work. The only other device that worked with itunes was the palm pre. And apple made sure that they couldn't ever do that again.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.doubleTwist.androidPlayerProKey&feature=search_result
Yah i know about iSyncr and doubletwist. But they're just pulling playlist info from iTunes. Nothing but Apple products can directly interface with iTunes.
SVN client for android. Now I've seen everything.
SVN client for android. Now I've seen everything.
It's great, I use it on my tablet to change music from other rooms.
Why did you guys scare the music guy away? It's not far fetched that you have to create a music folder with a very specific name. I think it was like that for the PSP. The PS3 also expects specially named media folders unless you open the advanced menu and select display all. Also for notification sounds etc you have (had?) to create a special folder. I think something like /sdcard/media/sounds/notification.

Any generic MP3 player will access media from any folder by just scanning for supported file extensions. Also you haven't had to make a special notification folder for a long long time.
What you consider to be common knowledge may not be so for other people. I sure didn't know you could place files anywhere and still have them working fine at first, I had to experiment. Shouting at people for asking questions in a general Android thread isn't gonna get us anywhere.
^That
Notice how you named only Sony products? Products from a company that insists on being different with everything they do.
^That I definitely had to do it for 2.1 and maybe for 2.2
I didn't for 2.1 or 2.2. If it wasn't in 2.1 then Samsung added it themselves, and he owns a captivate. And it costs more than the other variants. Not a good game plan T-Mobile.
It won't help. The phone has its own CPU governor that downclocks the cpu depending on how much power the device needs to complete a task. [editline]26th September 2011[/editline]
The only way I could see an ODIN bootloader flash causing a hard brick is if you were to unplug it while flashing SBL or if your battery fell out.
Once while flashing it just went to a green screen and froze. Since the phone decided to hold off flashing the SBL until the very end, I had a mismatch between 1st and 2nd bootloader. Fun stuff, and cost 40 dollars to fix. It's worked okay before, but I've had Odin freeze at multiple points and made me wonder if I was going to brick it, usually at random steps like SetupConnection.
GUYS. Big news. Big news indeed. http://www.slashgear.com/samsung-galaxy-s-ii-hd-lte-and-galaxy-s-ii-lte-official-26182723/ It'll be a huge friggin phone.
Well, with PenTile it'll be more like over 300 ppi until you notice a jaggie. Then it falls off.
But it isn't pentile from what I can see. It's SAMOLED+.

At any rate, I'm starting to think those on T-Mobile should get the HTC Amaze 4G instead of the T-Mobile GSII. Same processor, but the Amaze has a better camera (f/2.2 from Mytouch 4G slide I think), NFC, and Sense, if that tickles your fancy. Maybe better GPS.

The HTC Amaze 4G: Specs: 1.5 GHz Qualcomm S3 1 GB RAM 16 GB Internal NAND storage DC-HSPA+ (Max theoretical 42 Mbps) 960x540 qHD S-LCD RGB stripe screen 8 MP backlit sensor with f/2.2 aperture and instant-shot.(Same as Mytouch 4G Slide) rear camera, 2 MP front camera NFC communication WiFi b/g/n 4.3 inch formfactor Seriously, seeing as how T-Mobile fucked over the GSII, the HTC Amaze 4G is definitely the better option. [editline]26th September 2011[/editline] Also 'dat camera button.
Good news
So far a title exclusive to Sony Ericsson's Xperia Play, the Android port of Minecraft will soon be finding a broader audience, thanks to the developers revealing today that the Play's monopoly on Minecraft Pocket Edition would be coming to an end this Thursday with the release of the app for the rest of the Android family. The big change will be the inclusion of on-screen touch controls instead of utilizing the Play's dedicated hardware inputs. A video preview has been released, and the controls look pretty standard for a strafe-and-look first person title. Graphical indicators will let you know how much longer it will take for you to finish destroying a block, accomplished by holding your finger on an already-placed block. To set a new one, just tap the screen. Sadly, Minecraft PE is still a far cry from the PC version, lacking the survival mode and associated new features recently-delivered with the 1.8 Adventure Update. Sure, resource requirements would go through the roof, but smartphones are only getting faster and being equipped with more memory; let's give it a shot, Mojang! The Fujitsu-Toshiba Arrows Z ISW11F is an Android phone that is also waterproof, headed to Japan's KDDI. Available in white, black and pink, the phone runs Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread and packs a 1.2GHz dual-core TI OMAP4430 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of ROM, microSD card support for additional 32GB, 4.3-inch HD display with 720 x 1280 resolution, 13-megapixel camera with Sony's Exmor R for mobile backlit sensor, 1.3-megapixel webcam, WiFi b/g/n, WiMAX/GSM/CDMA-capable radio, HDMI-out, microUSB port, Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR, IrDa, and the obligatory E-wallet and digital TV tuner for the Japanese market. Add to everything above the fact that the device is waterproof and you'll get a great device that will be available on the Japanese market in November. Now, can we please have that internationally? The Honor is a 4-inch device running Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, with a 1.4GHz single-core CPU. The most interesting feature, however, is the phone's 1900mAh battery, which Huawei claims gives it the ability to run for up to three days on a single charge. Other notable specs include a 854x480 resolution display, 4GB internal storage, 512MB of RAM and HSPA+ support (up to 14.4Mbps) on 900MHz, 2100MHz and AWS bands. That means it'll work on most European and Asian GSM carriers, as well as T-Mobile USA. The Huawei Honor is due to launch in China, Russia and the Middle East before the end of the year. Join us after the jump for the full presser. Huawei's latest smartphone Honor packs a punch with its 16M true color HD display and three-day battery life, the longest in its class Shenzhen, 26 September 2011: Huawei today officially unveiled the Huawei Honor, its latest Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread smartphone that features a 16M 16:9 true color high-definition (HD) 4-inch FWVGA capacitive touch screen. Powered by a 1,900 MAh battery, Honor frees consumers from the inconvenience of searching for an electricity source, allowing them to share and connect for up to three days1 on a single charge – the longest battery life among smartphones in the 4-inch screen range. With a 1.4 GHz processor, an 8-megapixel HDR2-enabled camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, Honor is a powerhouse in a sleek 10.9 mm-thin body and weighs just 140g. "Huawei Honor encapsulates the Huawei brand – it features simple-to-use, advanced technology that allows people to share and connect easily. Honor provides a package of features that elevates the smartphone user experience, including an ultra-long battery life, so critical to the performance of smartphones but yet is often downplayed," said Victor Xu, chief marketing officer of Huawei Device. "Consumers now have a high-performing smartphone that lets them communicate, connect, entertain and share content for an extended period of time without compromising on looks, technology or style." Honor comes with an exclusive Huawei user interface which is easier to customize and manage, as well as a dynamic weather widget. Honor also features a Gyroscope which enables a better gaming experience. The smartphone is DLNA-certified which ensures interoperability with other DLNA-certified devices such as digital cameras, game consoles and TVs. This makes it easier for consumers to share their digital photos, music and videos between different DLNA-certified devices. The DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) is a non-profit organization with more than 250 member companies in the mobile, consumer electronics, PC, and service provider industries. According to ABI Research data, as of 2010, more than 440 million DLNA-certified devices have been installed in homes. Honor will be commercially available in "Classic Black" in Asia-Pacific, China, Russia and the Middle East in Q4, 2011. Honor will be released in more colors closer to the Christmas holidays. This is the ZTE Smart Tab 7 -- or the back of it, at least. We don't know a lot about the tablet, beyond what's available in the above drawing, including the Bluetooth, WiFi and 3G logos. It's also rocking the Google tramp stamp on its lower back and what appears to be a rear-facing camera at the top. Judging from the chosen name, it seems likely that the device will offer up a 7-inch display, and given the recent announcement of the Vodafone Smart Tab 7 and Smart Tab 10 at IFA, we might be gawking at a rebranded version of that device for the States. Time shall tell, no? Update: A tipster sent a link to this new tablet from ZTE. Could this Android 3.2 slate be the one in the above drawing? The similarities are certainly hard to deny.
http://www.engadget.com/2011/09/26/zte-smart-tab-7-reveals-its-google-back-tattoo-for-the-fcc/

Wow that HTC Amaze 4G sorts out one of the huge issues I complain about. I'm glad HTC put in a full 16GB of internal storage. [editline]27th September 2011[/editline] Now we wait for Krait and for the HTC phones that will blow us away.
Hmm, another cheap ZTE Device? If the tablet is any good I might be interested in it.
