The sgsII has great voice commands. Just double tap the home key and fire away.

Not in my experience. I try to use it with my handsfree (the standard ones supplied by Samsung) and it won't even work half the time. Sluggish response when it does.
Just encrypted my EEE Transformer
Glad to hear nVidia is getting ditched. The Tegra 2 was powerful and everything but it absolutely sucked at UI performance.

Verizon Exclusive.
[editline]6th October 2011[/editline]
Of course, only rumours.
I still don't think it'll be Verizon exclusive. Makes no sense. But I do think there'll be a Verizon variant, or it might be a timed Verizon exclusive, with a GSM version coming shortly thereafter.
How do i get this boot screen working on my Galaxy S2? still new to the whole Android thing :v:

New stuff on the Nexus Prime...
Update: A new batch of rumored specs have surfaced over on GSM Arena, and these seem to be more in line with what we'd expect of a new Nexus. According to an anonymous Google employee, that 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD display mentioned above is just about the only spec to make the final cut. The processor, however, is more likely to be a dual-core 1.5GHz Exynos (that's right) with an accompanying dual-core PowerVR SGX543MP2 graphics chip. That rear facing camera? Try 8 megapixels with a newly beefed up sensor. The handset should also ship with a girthy 2,050mAh battery fully capable of juicing this apparent LTE / CDMA / GSM Android monster.
Good stuff, the other rumoured specs were a bit wimpy to be honest.
The only thing I want is that we get Nexus Prime in Brazil.

Oops, I accidentally some words.
Fixed

The answer is you can't, it's on the EVO 4G. The boot animation is able to be changed, but splash screens are bootloader-based and changing that for the same of a splash screen entails a possible brick risk if anything goes wrong.

Google seriously has a chance to gain serious brand cachet for the Nexus series. If they fuck it up by using Verizon exclusivity they are going to lose it.
People are disappointed by the 4s and they need something that will seriously set a new standard.

There are some other rumours floating around that there could actually be two different versions, one with Exynos for most carriers, and one with OMAP for Verizon since Exynos doesn't support LTE properly
I personally believe heaps of the things floating around are just people making things up, I mean we've already had about 3 or 4 different photoshops floating around, the only things that I'd put down as 99% certain is the Super AMOLED HD display, the teaser image Samsung posted, NFC and Ice Cream Sandwich, and it seems far more likely that they'd just stick with OMAP rather than Exynos given the teaser image that was posted a few months ago

I would bet on Exynos. This is probably going to be the Google version of the Galaxy SII HD LTE that was announced earlier.

I say OMAP based on this image that came from TI a while ago:
But then again there have been reports of shortages of the OMAP 4460, but it's unkown if that's because TI have had problems with the chip, or if all the supply is going toward the Nexus Prime

Either way though, the device should be snappy and powerful as hell
Perhaps you fine gentlemen could assist a newb to Android. I have a pretty big music collection (about 2500 songs) and I just sold my iPod classic and got a 32gb microSD. I load up all of my music in Winamp, but it is unstable. I usually have to force close it quite often.
What is the best app you could recommend for listening to music. Also is there an app for Xperia Play to change songs on the fly with the L and R triggers?

Personally I use UberMusic which is simple, skinnable and snappy
Otherwise just search the Market and try them all out and see which one best suits your needs
Oh god, why must pretty much all the ROMs for the HTC Legend suck so much. They either have poor performance or crash and freeze too much to be used.

That's not 16:9, good idea but it's too wide.

Paint says it's between 16:9 and 16:10.

My body is ready. But my wallet is not.
Got an android phone off my brother today (Motorola cliq) and it's as slow as fuck, but I'm enjoying it so far. If I bought an android for around £200 would I see much of a speed increase and which phone would be the best for that price?

Nexus S and yes.

My wallet will never be ready for anything cutting/bleeding edge. :saddowns:
Nexus S and yes.
Been looking at this and the cheapest I can find is £250 which is kind of pushing it for me. Is there anything still relatively good one step lower?
ICS pictures, videos and nexus prime pictures leaked at android police.

I'm sure if you keep looking you'll find it for around £200. They are between £170 to £210 here so you could always import one from somewhere else in Europe.
The ZTE Skate isn't too bad, but much, much, much worse than the Nexus S.

Probably because of Steve Jobs

I see. I guess I'll keep my eye out for one around £200 and if nothing shows up by Christmas I'll get it.
What's with the Metro-style Apps button?
Do we have a confirmed screen size for the Nexus Prime?
