I hav a one xperia mini pro, released this august. I really like how you can like 'jailbreak' your phone my pressing a setting in android, that's nice because I thought that I had to root it first, and void the warrenty. Anyways, I feel like rooting it because I want to over and under clock the 1 GHz processor to get more power or more battery life since the battery isn't the best. Also, when I do get a 32gb micro SD card, I'll install backtrack 5 on my phone and use it to do all sorts of pen testing :P. And smoe more stuff. Plus, the warrenty will end in a yeare, my then I'll root it.
since my phone has a slide out keyboard, I can type commands and syntax easily. The screen is 3 inches which is a little to small but it's good enough since it was either this or a Nokia x7 or another android with an even smaller screen.
I originally wanted the SGS2 but my parents wouldn't get it for me. but it doesn't have a nice slide out keyboard. I'm sure theres a phone thats has a 4 inch screen or more with a slide out keyboard.
the 512 mb of ram, ima assume that it's good since the SGS2 has 1 gb. What totally sucks is the internal memory, at 420mb. It comes with a 2gb micro SD card but it ends up with less than a gig to use, so I got my 8gb card and ran it off th,at right now. It's enough to watch movies, tv episodes and stuff since videos take up 5gb of my card anyways.
the browser pisses me off when im on forums like facepunch, it's difficult to look through whatt I'm typing when I comment and I can't make the text box larger either. I just installed opera and I'll see how that goes.
recommend me any apps, tips, sites, etc. Since I want to get involved a bit more with android.
I think Backtrack is more a proof-of-concept on android than an actual working OS
-edit-
I mean it work bad on android, not enough processor power and RAM

It's just Linux with a lot of useful tools, most of which I haven't used yet, propably because I dont hav the told to even use it with. Either way, I'll install it and use it ima year, when I start to really use most of the tools.

I mean for android
I didn't mean that it is useless by itself, it is the best "Network testing" OS out there

If you're on T-Mobile, this is apparently a very good phone. Somehow the display is "better" than before in brightness and colors at first blush, so maybe this isn't S-LCD at all and HTC might be already transitioning to IPS....
Just got my Optimus 2x.
It came with 2.2.2, and there are no updates.. anyone know when 2.3 is coming?
LG is hella lazy when it comes to OTA updates.
Just ask any Optimus One users
Vodafone takes about 6 months to release an update. I remember Froyo only just came out on Vodafone during January or February this year.
So, ICS event got delayed. Oh well, I can wait a little. Hopefully the developers haven't abandoned my phone before it arrives.

So Qualcomm will have phones shipping with a CPU and GPU that should put it heads and shoulders above Cortex A9, with integrated LTE baseband. If the iPhone 5 comes out between June and October, pretty much their only options will be the TI OMAP 5, Krait, or their own custom design that probably will just be Cortex A9 based and incredibly outdated.
Samsung and Nvidia are behind the game right now, seeing as how they don't have any Cortex A15 designs to compete with TI and Qualcomm next year.

I would guess that if the Adreno 225 gets enough memory bandwidth and good drivers, we could see something that's faster than the Intel Atoms, integrated GPU that can do pretty much anything you need to do, and a 1-1.5 GHz speed bump and two extra cores after 2012.
The final pieces of the puzzle for HTC is to firstly, drop the weight on their damned phones and thin it out a bit, then get LG's AH-IPS screens into their phones, and segregate HTC Sense and pure Android for developers.

The sgsII has in built in tracking if you enabled it.
I kind of want a galaxy s2, y/n?
Don't buy anything right now, wait for Ice Cream Sandwich.
Ice Cream Sandwich leak outs Music 4.0.1 for download, previews Google+ 2.0

A funny thing happened to the folks at Android Police, the same group responsible for leaking some of the first screenshots of Ice Cream Sandwich. They've since come across a few apps from Google's upcoming release -- purportedly straight from a Nexus Prime. The first is Google Music 4.0.1 -- a marked upgrade from the current 3.0.1 found in the Market today -- which sports refined tabs, a contextual dialog and new player controls. For reference, the latest version is shown on the right, which is most likely installed onto a Gingerbread device. Best yet, the APK is currently up for download (which you're able to grab for yourself from the source). There's also a sneak peek of the upcoming Google+ 2.0, which suggests Messenger (formerly Huddle) and Conversations will be renamed to... get this... Chords. Feel free to take a peek after the break, or check out the full gallery at the second source link below.

Just ordered a HTC Desire s :D
ICS looks fuckin' sexy
Can you guys help me on something?
I cant really seem to find the 5" Dell Streak anywhere, also, I would like it for around £200, possibly less. Thanks.
Amazon, the 7 is just just over 200 and the 5 is under
I like the direction Android is going with it's UI.
Now polish it, and have Sense-like integration with social networks/text, and make the launcher truly compelling to use without having to replace it.

And for fuck's sake, get Krait able to run ICS at full hardware acceleration, OMAP 4 is great but it honestly cannot hold a candle to a new microarchitecture.

Official Sense 3.0 should be on it :D
[editline]8th October 2011[/editline]
Apparently the Nexus Prime's CDMA variant will be exclusive to Verizon for a bit, GSM will be available to everyone at launch.

All I see is used ones?
Just got me a Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4g Touch. :D
I don't like the horizontal scrolling menus in ICS, I hope that's toggleable.
will the Nexus S be getting the ICS update?
will the Nexus S be getting the ICS update?
It will be the first device to.

[editline]8th October 2011[/editline]
literally the day after my phone arrives lol
Let's hope Samsung is fast on getting ICS on the SII because I really like how it looks and performs.
It will be the first device to.
Considering how long it took the N1 to get 2.3 after the NS came out, I'm not holding my hopes up.

the nexus prime isn't even coming out for like 3 weeks after ICS comes out so i'm not sure how that's relevant
