What ROM should I try on my HD2? I've been using Hyperdroid, a CM7.1-based ROM.

Sweet, thanks! but why nexus?
What ROM should I try on my HD2? I've been using Hyperdroid, a CM7.1-based ROM.
TyphooN. That's all I used when I had an HD2.
Sweet, thanks! but why nexus?
It's the official Google dev phone, it'll be the first phone to have ICS on it, also, it's going to be better than the Galaxy S II. If you are planning on buying the top-of-the-line Galaxy S II, then I am pretty sure you can afford the Galaxy Nexus (or Nexus Prime) too.
Sweet, thanks! but why nexus?
Because it will most likely be the best one when it comes out and it comes out very soon. The SGSIII on the other hand won't come out for a long time. It's not worth waiting for it.
SGSIII comes out next year. It's not "a long time."
It's 2-14 months. That's pretty long.
It's 2-14 months. That's pretty long.
Not really, i think it's slated for the first quarter of 2012
Anyways, the nexus is released before the SGSIII.
Anyways, the nexus is released before the SGSIII.
So what? SGSIII will be worth the wait. Save your upgrade.
Anyways, the nexus is released before the SGSIII.
Yeah but will it really be better though? i've read about 50 different pages with different specs
So what? SGSIII will be worth the wait. Save your upgrade.
Based on this logic you will never get a phone, always waiting on the next lot.
Based on this logic you will never get a phone, always waiting on the next lot.
well it's less than 5 months away anyway it's a win win though, cheaper SII new SIII
well it's less than 5 months away anyway it's a win win though, cheaper SII new SIII
Same can be said about the Nexus Prime/Galaxy Nexus (whatever you want to call it)
Hello dear Android Thread. Remember my shituation with a faulty Galaxy S2? This post here? Well, a lot of time has passed since that, the phone started randomly restarting again, it kept getting gradually worse, so I sent it in again while also contacting Samsung and telling them to fucking supervise that authorized repair office of theirs. ... 2 weeks passed since I put it in for a repair, and today I got a phonecall that I should bring all the original accessory and all the papers from when I bought it, that they will be giving me my money back! I was so happy I forgot to breathe for a second. I got my money back, went to a different shop and bought a brand new Galaxy S2 along with the official 2000mAh Extended Battery Kit (and I still saved money). NONE of the smaller issues that my first GS2 had (like a pink spot on the camera in really low light) appear here, the phone is also much faster out of the box and with the battery kit it looks better and also holding it is MUCH more comfortable. 1st Galaxy S2 price: 814.66 USD (I got all of this back) 2nd Galaxy S2 price: 731.47 USD Extended Battery Kit: 33.21 USD ---------------------------------------------------------------- Money saved: 49.96 USD (prices are converted from Czech crowns, calculations might be faulty a bit) Years lost due to my rage with previous warranty issues: 7 The feeling I have a working S2: PRICELESS. :v::v::v: That is all from me for now. Yes, I could've waited for the Google Galaxy Nexus/Nexus Prime, but there's still no official release date or price specified. Worst case scenario I can just return the GS2 within two weeks from now ;D

Was yours subsidized?
Was yours subsidized?
Mine? Don't know. Got it from Sprint.
Was it part of a monthly contact that costs you X per month for X months
Wow, I spent $200 on my SGSII. You got ripped off.
I assume that's with a contract. Nice price, but personally I hate signing contracts that have a phone "attached" to them.
I assume that's with a contract. Nice price, but personally I hate signing contracts that have a phone "attached" to them.
Yeah it is. That's the going rate for the SGSII on-contract.
Was it part of a monthly contact that costs you X per month for X months
Two year contract, unlimited data/talk/text for $99/month. And Sprint doesn't throttle your bandwidth after x gigs of use, it's truly unlimited.
I always jump on any bit of Galaxy Note news with fervour but, well... Galaxy Note aimed at capturing the female market says Samsung

We get the phone free a year contract at £24 a month!
Same here!
Yeah it is. That's the going rate for the SGSII on-contract. Two year contract, unlimited data/talk/text for $99/month. If you had bought it from a decent carrier (which apparently doesn't exist in North America) you would have gotten it for free with your contract. Where I live it costs 630$ off contract. That means I can get any cheap contract I want. For instance 8.80€ per month for 1000/1000/1000MB + 4€/additional GB. Assuming someone actually used more than that... let's say 5GB he'd pay 28.80€ per month and after 7 months it would be cheaper than getting it subsidized for 200$.

Believe me, I'd be on Vodafone in a heartbeat if I could.
Vodafone is the worst carrier here :v: Three's pretty awesome though
It's what I was thinking of doing, but I figured that the contract pretty much pays for the phone itself unlocked after the 2 years, + the minutes and data you get included.
According to my caluclations it comes to roughly the same, but I like the option to switch phone more often than every 2 years and I got an even cheaper contract where I pay about 6€/month because I only use very few texts and minutes (compared to the 1000 included in all the contracts)

I pay $99 a month with Sprint, however I use the hell out of texting and data.
