http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/14/motorola-xoom-family-edition-includes-kid-friendly-apps-will-hi/ Is it worth getting? Obviously I would delete all the pre-installed shit, but $379 is great for the xoom.
installing CM7 on my DX1, replacing MIUI
installing CM7 on my DX1, replacing MIUI
I can't wait for CM7 on my Epic 4G Touch...
$730 phone and $2,376 over 2 years? Holy fuck you get ripped off in the US. We get the phone free a year contract at £24 a month!
In Canada, it costs $150 on top of a three year contract with a minimum of $50/month and it must include data, which is ONLY 500 MB. A month ago, a plan for 6GB/month was $30/month, funny how the $25 data plan only gave you 500 MB.
I'm installing Ubuntu on my laptop so that I can compile a CM7 build for my Infuse. Apparently it's a strictly build-your-own deal, which seems silly, but it'll be a good learning experience nonetheless.
I had a fondle of Joe588's GS2 this evening, it weighs nothing at all. Do you guys not worry that it's been pickpocketed all the time? I could of probably thrown it away and it'd float on up into the sky.. I can understand phones being lighter than they used to is a good thing, but jesus. It feels like a display model..

It seems you need to really, it's daft.
Still using the iPhone you got from Garry, Dav0r?
I think I broke something. The notification area in honeycomb disappeared when I accidetally tapped it with the palm of my hand, and I can't find any relevant option to get it back. Not running any status bar hiding app, it just looks like this: See? No visible notification area in the bottom right :frown: Oh well going to try a restart soon since lock+unlock didn't work. Yeah, it's back.
I've been having this problem for quite some time now, so I'd appreciate any sort of support so when I close out of apps, I would return to the home screen, but no icons would be there. Nothing permanent though; the icons come back after ~30 seconds I'm guessing it's some sort of memory issue, but I'm not sure. It's especially annoying since I can't do anything until the icons come back up. The phone is a droid running 2.2, rooted/overclocked, if it matters

You could look at updating your phone to 2.3 and that does improve memory usage.

I'm guessing I have to update it manually, but I can't find the file, or even a how-to.

Looks exactly like Chrome I have never used an Android tablet so forgive my ignorance
Still using the iPhone you got from Garry, Dav0r?
sure am bro [editline]15th October 2011[/editline] my ZTE Blade is now nothing more than a fancy alarmclock.
Is it the default 3+ browser? Looks exactly like Chrome I have never used an Android tablet so forgive my ignorance
Yeah, it's pretty good, has all chrome features you'd use on a tablet and runs FP really well except being 2 seconds behind while typing.
DX1 CM7 nightly 120 installed after like 2 hours of trying to format the goddamn phone and buying Clockworkmod which didn't even have the damn ROM anyway
When do I get CyanogenMod for my Epic 4G Touch?! Anything to follow on the subject?
The hardware buttons on my Optimus T are starting to act funky, namely the power and home buttons. :(
What would be the best Android phone to get right now? Is there any other phone that's worth waiting for it to come out?
What would be the best Android phone to get right now? Is there any other phone that's worth waiting for it to come out?
SGSII.
SGSII.
SGSII if you need it soon. Nexus Prime if you can wait a few weeks/months.
Now I know that I should not get my PSP back Those graphics are amazing for a phone Gameplay is really good too
I had the chance to take a look at Tmobile's version of the SGSII and to be honest the screen is just way too big.
I had the chance to take a look at Tmobile's version of the SGSII and to be honest the screen is just way too big.
Bigger is better, right?
4.5 is when I start being uncomfortable with bigger screens, 5 inches is the generally accepted boundary of tablet/smartphone.
Bigger is better, right?
Here's a test. Can you hold it comfortably up to your ear and use it as a phone without having to stress your fingers? Can you carry on a conversation like this for 10 minutes a time multiple times a day? If so, it's still a reasonably sized phone. Another thing: Can you comfortably operate the device one-handed in portrait mode most of the time?
