What would be the best Android phone to get right now? Is there any other phone that's worth waiting for it to come out?
Samsung Galaxy Nexus is announced on the 19th, wait for that.
I'm probably going to trade my SGSII for the Nexus when it's released.
Samsung Galaxy Nexus is announced on the 19th, wait for that.
Better be on verizon or ill shit myself.
I think they were shooting for every carrier this time.
Verizon tends to carry horrible androids and get good ones like 2 years late
for screens, at least get 3.5 inches, if not 4, 4.5. If you like large screens, you should compare screen sizes if you can.
I like the 4.3 inch screen on my GS2. I don't like how you can't do everything with one thumb though. I could do nearly everything one handed with my old iPhone. That's literally the only complaint I have with it, everything else is perfect.
I got my SG2 fixed, just had to do a hard restart. I actually find the 4.5 inch screen nice. Its kind of huge, but I can do everything with one hand. With that being said, I do have big hands.
I myself use a 4 inch screen, fits perfectly.
mine is 3 inches, i find it a bit too small for me but at the time, it was the only good phone that I could get, besides a nokia x7, which i didnt want, even though the screen was larger. Either way, whenever i type i usually use the slide out keyboard on my sony xperia mini pro. the next phone ill get in like three years will have to be 4 inches or more and have a slide out keyboard. And for my old phone at that point, or in a year when the warrenty ends, root, boot BackTrack5 and use the 1% of tools that I even know how to use. such a big difference 0.5 inches has, compared it to an ipod touch, like lol my screens so small :P i want a bigger screen...
mine is 3 inches, i find it a bit too small for me
Oh god I'm so immature.
boot BackTrack5
BackTrack 5 on an Xperia Mini? Good luck with that.
Just installed Cyanogenmod 7.1 on my phone and all I have to say is fuck you default samsung rom

Also, can anyone recommend a first time android device? I wouldn't use it for calling people on, so it doesn't necessarily need to be a phone. < 130 pounds. http://www.dicapri.com/?q=/node/415 This also looks good. You can get the Skate for about £100-£120 from Orange, they call it the Monte Carlo.

Has anyone else tried Vlingo on CyanogenMod 7.1.0? It keeps freezing for me very often.
I like my SD slot.
...good for you?
I hate it how the WiFi on my phone fails, whenever it disconnects, it almost never reconnects. it's when I go to WiFi settings is when it reconnects automatically, like wow.
Oh how I wish I would have waited for the Nexus Prime.

[editline]15th October 2011[/editline]
Oh how I wish I would have waited for the Nexus Prime.
You could've, but what's the point when by next year bigger and better things will be out? Technology marches on.
You could've, but what's the point when by next year bigger and better things will be out? Technology marches on.
Good point, I see what you're trying to say. This is why it's so hard for me to pick a phone.
...good for you?
It'll just be a shame if the Nexus Prime lacks a microSD slot.
Have you made sure that Wifi sleep policy is set to "Never Sleep"?
yep. it disconnects a lot whenever I use my slideout keyboard...
yep. it disconnects a lot whenever I use my slideout keyboard...
Sounds like it might be a defect.
